Milotic (Japanese: ミロカロス Milokaross) is a Water Pokémon.

It evolves from Feebas when leveled up with its Beauty condition high enough or when traded holding a Evolution-inducing held item (Generation V onwards).

Biology
Milotic is an aquatic, serpentine Pokémon with a primarily cream-colored body. It has red eyes with long, pinkish antennae above them. Additionally, there are long, hair-like fins above its eyes, which begin thin and thicken towards the tips. These eyebrows extend to almost half of Milotic's body length, and will be longer on the female than the male. On top of its relatively small head is a straight spike. Running down either side of its neck are three black dots, similar to gills. Its lower body is a patterning of blue and pink, diamond-shaped scales outlined with black. The tail consists of four large, blue fins with pink ovals in their centers. Each of the tail fins overlaps the next slightly, causing it to resemble a fan. While it has not been depicted, Milotic's scales are said to change color depending on the viewing angle.

Milotic is said to be the most beautiful of all Pokémon. When there are fights going on, it has the power to calm angry feelings and end arguments by releasing a wave of energy. In addition, it can move by floating in the air as shown in the anime. It lives at the bottom of List of Pokémon by habitat

Trivia
* In the anime, all of the Milotic that appeared were under the ownership of a Pokémon Coordinator or a Frontier Brain.
* In the official Prima Strategy Guide for Ruby and Sapphire, Milotic was mistakenly stated to have the Torrent Ability.
* In many ways, Milotic is the counterpart of Gyarados. Both are the serpentine evolved forms of weak fish Pokémon, and both appear in times of conflict, Milotic to calm, Gyarados to destroy. Both have base stat totals of 540, the only difference being the distribution of their Attack, Special Attack and Special Defense stats.
** It is also possible it is meant to be a Contest version of Gyarados - because Gyarados was introduced in the first generation, and Milotic was introduced in the third generation with Pokémon Contests. This is fortified by Milotic's emphasis being on its beauty, while Gyarados' emphasis is on its power.
* Milotic is tied with Gyarados for the greatest increase in base stat total after evolving, at 340 points.
* In , it is possible to evolve Feebas into Milotic without trading, even though no Poffin can be obtained and used in the game. This is done by visiting the Haircut brothers in Goldenrod or by talking to Daisy in order to groom Feebas, which not only helps to raise its friendship, but also raises its Beauty. This is subtly stated by the brothers and Daisy in the games, but cannot be checked unless the Feebas is traded to Diamond, Pearl, or Platinum. However, this cannot raise Feebas's Beauty if its Sheen is too high.
* Milotic, along with Espeon and Umbreon, is the only Pokémon which has multiple manners of being evolved from its pre-evolved form in the main series.
** Unlike the case with Eevee in , which cannot evolve into Espeon or Umbreon its normal way due to a lack of in-game clock, a Feebas that has maximum Beauty (via transfer from Generation IV) can still be evolved by leveling it up in Generation V, as Beauty, while a hidden stat like the rest of the Contest conditions, still exists in the data structure of each Pokémon.

Origin
Milotic may be loosely based on siren (mythology) or the Loch Ness Monster, but mostly has characteristics of a sea serpent or sea dragon. It has anatomical similarities with the oarfish, with a pale, elongated body and extended, red dorsal fins.

Name origin
Milotic may be a combination of aquatic, melodic, or lotic and Milo (as in the sculpture Venus de Milo, which is known for being an example of beauty (and, like Milotic, possesses no arms). It may also involve mitotic (the healing process of a body part through mitosis), as Milotic has a wide range of healing and defensive moves.

Milokaross may be a combination of Milo (Venus de Milos) and καλλονή kalloni (Greek language for beauty) or Χάρις charis (Greek for beauty, elegance, charm, or grace).
Route 118 (Japanese: １１８ばんどうろ Route 118) is a route in central Hoenn, connecting Mauville City, 119, and 123.

Route description
Western segment
From Mauville, the route is straightforward, traveling directly east-west between the city limits and the west bank of the river. The western half of this path is composed of fields while the eastern portion is a sandy beach.

When Trainers first encounter the river, it is impassable, as they are often lacking 03 and the Balance at this point. After acquiring the move and the Badge, Trainers can cross the river to reach the eastern half.

The short river path runs directly east-west and contains no Trainers, leaving wild Pokémon as the only concern.

Eastern segment
Route 118 comes ashore on another beach containing a pair of Fishermen. Gabby and Ty are often found in the area as well, looking for up-and-coming Pokémon Trainers to battle and interview.

The route continues east, along a northern ledge. After passing through a large patch of grass, Route 118 comes to a three-way intersection. The northern path leads to 119, while the eastern path runs through another large patch of grass, before becoming Route 123.

Heading north from the intersection, a four-way intersection allows access to the upper areas that overlook the main path of Route 118. To the west is another Trainer, a small area of grass, and a soft soil patch containing two Sitrus Berry plants. To the east is yet another grass patch and a Potion. Continuing north, the path becomes Route 119.
Trivia
* Route 118 is the second route in the Pokémon world that has two tracks of background music (the first route is 111). The music changes depending on whether the player is in the route's eastern half where the music is the same as 119, or the western half which shares its music with 110, 111, 112, 114, and 117.
* A glitch, only in Ruby and Sapphire, allowed players to make Aroma Lady Rose walk over the ledge to start a battle. This was corrected in Emerald, as she was part of a Double Battle by then. It was also corrected in Spanish versions of Ruby and Sapphire, even though she is not part of a Double Battle.
Growing Berries
Berry#In Generation VI 2
Berries can be planted in any empty patch of soft soil. The amount of time it takes for the Berry to fully grow and become harvestable depends on the Berry, but all growth times fall into some multiple of 24 hours.

The soil that a Berry is planted in will start out dry and can be watered by the player. If Boost or Amaze Mulch was used, the plant will dry out again 4 hours after it was watered, but otherwise it will dry up after 24 hours. Every 2 hours, there is also a chance for weeds and (once the plant has grown past the seedling stage) pest Pokémon to appear on the plant.

A completely unwatered and uncared for plant will give its minimum yield after it has fully grown, but for each time the plant is watered, weeded, or a pest is removed, its final yield will increase by a set amount, depending on the Berry. Removing a pest is always worth more than removing a weed or watering, and while the amount added for removing a weed or watering the plant is not always a whole number, the amount for removing a pest is.

If a fully grown plant is left for a month, the plant will wither, but interacting with it will reveal a new plant sprouting beneath the leaves, allowing that Berry to grow again.

Mulch
Mulch
Mulch can be made by placing three Berries in the composters. Three Mulches are produced each time, and the type of Mulch produced is based on the colors of the Berries. There are four types of Mulches.
* Mulch increases final Berry harvest by two Berries. It can be made by mixing three differently colored Berries.
* Mulch dries the soil quicker, allowing the player to water the plant more often and obtain a larger yield. It can be made by mixing two Berries of the same color with another Berry.
* Mulch boosts chances of mutations depending on the Berries used to make the Mulch. It can be made by mixing three Berries of the same color.
* Mulch has the effects of Boost and Surprise Mulches. It can be made by mixing a Kee or Maranga Berry with two other Berries.

Berry colors
Although Kee and Maranga Berries have colors, composting one will always result in Amaze Mulch regardless of the colors of the other Berries.

Mutation
Mutation will sometimes occur when two different types of Berries are grown next to each other. Once a certain mutation has been performed once, the formula for it can be reviewed with the Scientist in the Berry grower's hut. Using Surprise Mulch or Amaze Mulch on the trees involved increases the chance of a mutation.

The Berries that result from mutations can only be obtained via mutation in Kalos, and some of those mutations can only be produced from other mutated Berries. In the table below, the first set of mutations only require Berries that can be found elsewhere in Kalos, the second set requires one Berry from the first set, and the last set must mutate from two Berries from the second set.
*The Sprinklotad may be used to water multiple Berries in a row by moving to the left or right (even over other watered plots).
Pastoria City is a wonderland for rare Pokémon lovers. These rare Pokémon can be found in the Great Marsh, though some of them are rotated daily, requiring multiple visits.

The Scarf Guy lives in the house nearest to the 213 exit. The Scarf Guy checks a Pokémon's condition to see if it is worthy of a Scarf. If the Pokémon's condition is at its maximum value in an area, he will give out the corresponding Scarf to that Pokémon. If not, he will tell the player to improve its condition with Poffins.
The eastern house that is right next to the water is the home of the Move Reminder who will teach your Pokémon a move from their level-up moveset in exchange for a Heart Scale. At this point, you can only collect Heart Scales in The Underground, though you can also get them at the Pokémon News Press in Solaceon Town. After getting the National Pokédex, you can also obtain them from wild Luvdisc.

Go to the house farthest west to meet a woman who will give you a Berry each day. These Berries will notably be the ones that reduce the damage of supereffective attacks on the Pokémon that holds it. Notably, the Charti Berry that you can receive from her is a good Berry to use when making Poffin for raising a Pokémon's Beauty stat and is recommended to use for evolving Feebas into Milotic once you've had time to grow them to obtain plenty of them.
If you want to catch a lot of rare Pokémon, you should visit the Great Marsh at the north end of town. For PDollar500 you can explore the Marsh until you catch up to 30 Pokémon or walk 500 steps, whichever comes first. You won't use your Pokémon to battle here— if a wild Pokémon appears, you have the choice of throwing Mud, Bait, or a Safari Ball. Bait lowers the chance of the Pokémon escaping, but also significantly lowers its catch rate. The mud does just the opposite, making the Pokémon easier to catch, but raising its chances of fleeing. It is important to master this unorthodox catching method, because some of the Pokémon found in the Marsh will be helpful for subsequent Gym battles.

For pdollar100, you can look through the binoculars in the upstairs room of the entrance building before a Safari Game. They show wild Pokémon in the Marsh area where they can be found. This is useful for spotting the rare Pokémon that are rotated each day.

Pastoria Gym
Before you enter the Gym, you will be challenged to a battle with Barry.

As you will quickly figure out, this Gym specializes in Waters. Grass- and Electric-types will do well here, but you shouldn't use Fire-, Rock-, or Ground-types. Be aware that the highest-leveled Pokémon here is Level 37 and a fast attacker.

The puzzle of the Pastoria Gym is raising and lowering the water level with the buttons in the correct order. To reach Crasher Wake (the Gym Leader), go down the entrance stairs, turn left and go up those stairs. You will reach a yellow button. Hit it and the water level drops. Turn right, down the stairs, and go through a narrow passage. There is another narrow passage before you reach some stairs. Climb up to the top, and hit the green button. Climb down and follow the path to another set of stairs. Battle the Sailor there, and hit the blue button. Follow the platform to the first yellow button and head right, past the stairs to the Tuber. Battle him, and follow the path right to another Tuber. Battle her, and go on forward. You will eventually find a green button. Hit it, go down the nearby stairs, and hit the yellow button. Go up, then down to the lowest level. The rest is simple; follow the path to a set of stairs, climb up, and hit the blue button. The path to Wake is clear.
Wake leads the fight with Gyarados, who has Intimidate, so lead with Special-based attackers. It, like most of Wake's team, has his signature TM move, Brine. Brine does more damage if you have less than half of your HP left, so be wary and stay healthy. Waterfall will do the most damage and may cause your Pokémon to Status condition. However, one good Electric-type attack will take it out. Next up is Wake's Quagsire, whose Ground type makes it immune to Electric-type moves. Instead, Grass-type attacks are this Pokémon's nightmare, particularly Special attacks due to its weak Special Defense. It has Rock Tomb to slow you down, but it doesn't know Brine. Yawn can be annoying, because a Pokémon hit by it will fall asleep on the next turn unless you switch. Chesto Berries as held items can be useful in this situation. Last up is his star Pokémon, Floatzel. Floatzel is very fast, and can hit pretty hard, but its defenses are quite low. It has Ice Fang to counter Grass-types, as well as Aqua Jet, a Water-type Quick Attack. It too, is packing Brine, so stay healthy during the fight. Avoid using Tropius or Torterra since Ice Fang will cause it 4× damage due to their bad type combos. A fast Electric type like Jolteon or Raichu with a good move like Thunderbolt will easily take out Floatzel.

After defeating Wake, you'll receive the Fen Badge that lets you use Surf outside of battle, as well as 55.

After earning the Fen Badge, you'll meet up with Barry again. When Wake heads out of the Gym, it turns out that Barry's earlier claim about being Wake's apprentice isn't true since Wake believes both of you don't need any tutoring. Barry then brings up the more serious topic of trouble due to a Galactic Grunt with a bomb near the Great Marsh's Observatory Gate. When you meet Barry and Wake at the entrance to the Great Marsh you'll find that the Grunt set off a small bomb in the Great Marsh as a field test and you'll from have to chase after him while Barry and Wake will keep people out of the Great Marsh until Wake can be sure it is safe. Head through 213 (you'll encounter Looker on the way), all the way to the Valor Lakefront, where you will battle him near the entrance to the Lake Valor area.

After defeating the Grunt, you will meet Cynthia again. After Barry briefly interrupts her to report to Lucas/Dawn that Wake said the damage to the Great Marsh is not as serious as expected, Cynthia states that she is worried about the group of Psyduck on 210. She gives you SecretPotion to cure the Psyduck of their headaches. She will then tell you the legend about a Azelf.

You can now head to 210, north of Solaceon Town, and explore the northern part that was blocked off by the Psyduck. Also, you can go back to Pastoria and explore 212 to the west if you haven't already.
There are two parts to 212. The southern part has a constant downpour, and the northern has the Pokémon Mansion. The northern side can be accessed at any time through Hearthome City's south exit after defeating Maylene at the Veilstone Gym.
The Pokémon Mansion is owned by Mr. Backlot. It is also the home of the famous Trophy Garden, which is located to the rear. It has many rooms, with the most important of them being Mr. Backlot's office, which is where a Pokémon statue guarded by a policeman is located. However, the guard is on break from 2 A.M. until 6 A.M., leaving you free to touch the statue. Manaphy's data can be recorded (as a seen Pokémon) from the book lying on Mr. Backlot's desk, and it must be done in order to get the National Pokédex. Other rooms in the mansion have beds, which you can used to rest yourself along with your Pokémon. You may fight the maids in the 5-Maid Knockout Exact-Turn Attack Challenge, in which five maids must be beaten in a certain number of turns (no more, no less). The prize for winning the challenge is a duel with either Lady Celeste or Rich Boy Liam.

The western and eastern exits of the mansion are blocked by the maids. Neither of these doorways are functional, and only serve as decoration.
There are many Pokémon that can be found here without any interaction with the Trophy Garden's owner, Mr. Backlot. All of these Pokémon are in the Sinnoh Pokédex, and many can be found in other areas. After you have gotten the National Pokédex upgrade, however, Pokémon that do not otherwise appear in Sinnoh will be placed in the Trophy Garden by Backlot's butler to cover up for his fibs, with a different one there daily. The last two Pokémon placed in the garden at any given time will remain available until more Pokémon are placed in the garden.
Now that Cynthia has given you the SecretPotion, you can head back to Solaceon Town and travel north to 210.

Use the SecretPotion on the Psyduck and access north is granted. Cynthia will then appear and give you the Old Charm, asking you to deliver it to Celestic Town. Long grass, as in the southern area, grows rampant. This grass is so tall that your bicycle cannot be used in it. This area seems to be a popular place for Ninja Boys to hide. Further north, the grass clears to give rise to thick fog. To ease travel, 05 may be used, although this is not required.

Grandma Wilma, a Move Tutor, lives in a house on the northern, foggy stretch of Route 210 (requires Rock Climb to reach it). Previously, she lived in a famous city of Dragon Tamers, and due to this, she is able to teach the move Draco Meteor to any Dragon Pokémon with high Happiness.

A winding series of bridges will eventually lead west to Celestic Town, passing over accessible rivers that flow from a mountaintop lake. Once you have 07, you can Surf around here to get a couple of items.
Allie was first mentioned by King Shabboneau as the one who had the Poké Flute which was needed for waking up a Snorlax to start a festival in Camphrier Town. One day she visited the palace, and without asking, took the Poké Flute because she thought it looked pretty. But because King Shabboneau had good relations with her father, he never tried to get it back. Ash and ashfr promised to try to get it back. But, when arriving at Parfum Palace, Princess Allie stubbornly refused to give it back. However, noticing Pikachu and what she called its "rare cheeks", she agreed to give them the Poké Flute in exchange for Pikachu. Naturally, Ash refused, to her chagrin. Allie then attempted to bribe him with various gems and treasures, but Ash still wouldn't budge. She then settled on a battle against her Furfrou, in which the Poké Flute and Pikachu would be betted. Despite protests from Serena and Bonnie, Pikachu agreed to do it.

During the battle, when Pikachu's Thunderbolt impaired Furfrou's appearance, a shocked Princess Allie forfeited to have Furfrou groomed back to beauty. Although Ash was declared the winner, Allie would still not give them the flute on account of her losing, to Ash's anger. It turned out she actually intended to give them the flute if Ash lost and gain Pikachu if Ash won. With all of Ash and friends confused and angry, Clemont confronted her on her unfairness. Although Princess Allie appeared to have her feelings hurt, she actually admired Clemont for his scolding and made an offer: she would hand over the Poké Flute if Clemont stayed with her. After talking it over with Serena, Bonnie agreed to this and left a frantic Clemont with Allie after obtaining the Poké Flute. Unknown to her, when she went to the balcony to see the fireworks with Clemont at night, the figure there was actually a decoy he created; the real Clemont had escaped with his friends. This angered her into slapping the dummy, causing it to explode and leaving Allie's appearance ruined.
When Ash and ashfr entered the garden of Parfum Palace, Furfrou appeared out of nowhere and started barking at them before being comforted by Princess Allie. She later used it in a battle against Ash. Although it was able to dodge Pikachu's Quick Attack and counter Iron Tail with Bite, it got shocked by Pikachu's Thunderbolt.
Given its underground habits, its partial insect-like appearance and the fact it sports tail-end cerci and six tiny limbs close to its head; I'd say Zygarde's design might've been inspired by a beetle larvae/grub, a Ground Beetle larva to be precise, given its shape. : I don't see it as a larva, its more or less a serpent. Although with the mention of Zygote likely having some basis for its name, I am kind of thinking sperm cell. :: Perhaps it also takes inspiration from the tsuchinoko, much like Dunsparce? It's notable for being a rather wide serpent, as well as having a notable straightforward "wiggle" rather than slithering from side to side. Also, the tsuchinoko's ability to swallow its own tail merges well with the possible basis on Jörmungandr, which could grasp its own tail even wrapped around the earth. --Eskay64 (talk) 04:40, 7 January 2014 (UTC)
::: Zygarde's appearance was absolutely inspired by fibuli, these early medieval pins that were common throughout Scandinavia as a means of pinning tunics together. Here are a few examples, image 1 image 2. As you can see the idea of a long snakelike body is here along with a flaring head, complete with a bunch of pieces sticking out. These would have been totally normal things for upper class medieval Scandinavians to wear and thus fits Gen 6's Nordic legendary theme. I'm haven't seen this connection made anywhere else, but once I saw it in class I recognized it right a way. Perhaps following that logic we might find some other sort of medieval jewelry references in the other legendaries? Dockers
Zygarde Etymology
Just looking at the naming trivia, I can't imagine that Garde is actually tied to the origins of its name. It's very serpent-like and clearly based on Norse mythology, so perhaps Zygote and Midgard - specifically the Midgard Serpent.

Position in Trio
Zygarde is in a Legendary trio with Xerneas an Yveltal, so it's "element" should fit with Creation and Destruction. Considering it's Pokédex entry, I think it's safe to say Xerneas = Creation, Yveltal = Destruction, and Zygarde = PRESERVATION. Conansboy
:Its not really verified they are a trio. At least not yet anyways. As for the Norse basis, its possible they are not based on norse mythology at all, but Hindu mythology or one or more mythologies. As of now, the most popular name for them seems to be Aura Trio if they are a trio. There is a thread about their name on the forum if you're interested. == Zygarde is in a trio with Xerneas and Yveltal ==

Admit it guys, Zygarde is THE most blatantly OBVIOUS Rayquaza Expy to have ever existed. Here's a few things to note here:

*Zygarde has a Green color scheme, while Xerneas and Yveltal have a Blue and Red coloration to match the RGB Color Palette.
*Xerneas and Yveltal are both designed based on the letters X and Y, and the first letters in their names are even those same letters. Zygarde not only is shaped in the manner of a Z due to being a serpent, but also has it's name begin with Z.
*Zygarde's signature ability, Aura Break, ONLY effects Fairy Aura and Dark Aura, which are ONLY known to be available to Xerneas and Yveltal. This isn't too different from Rayquaza in how it cancels out the abilities of the other two members of the trio.
*Xerneas is the Life Pokemon, Yveltal is the Destruction Pokemon, and Zygarde is the Order Pokemon.
*It's PokeDex Entries don't make reference to the other two, but bare in mind, neither did Rayquaza, Giratina, or Kyurem had any references to the others until their versions were released.

With that in mind, I can't see how ANYBODY can believe Zygarde is not related to either of them, as it's so obvious it's painful to say the least. The fact that Zygarde is the ONLY Non-Event Legendary from Kalos other than Xerneas and Yveltal doesn't help matters, and neither Diancie nor the still unconfirmed Volcanion and Hoopa look like they'd be anywhere near related to Xerneas or Yveltal as much as Zygarde does. :Testing catch rate is very "possible", just very involved. Testing base friendship is child's play by comparison. That, you just have to be a little smart about (...possibly a little more than a little).
