Pokkén Tournament (Japanese: ポッ拳 Pokkén Tournament Pokkén: Pokkén Tournament) is a Pokémon crossover with Tekken that will be released in 2015.

A brief snippet of footage from the game featuring Lucario and Blaziken first appeared at the end of a retrospective at the Pokémon Game Show, which was held in Tokyo on August 17 and 18, 2013. Later that month, the game's title Trademarks found for new Pokémon product as a trademark registered in Japan and the United States, although the connection between the title and the footage was not confirmed until the game's formal announcement. The game was officially announced on a NicoNico livestream that was held by the The Pokémon Company on August 26, 2014, which showed Lucario (which Mega Evolved into Mega Lucario) fighting Machamp.

Bandai Namco Games, the game's developer, is currently asking for fighter suggestions. Japanese residents can Tweet at @pokken_official with the Pokémon they would like to see using the hashtag #ポッ拳 in order to make a suggestion.

The English Pokémon site also mentioned the announcement, and uploaded a trailer to their YouTube account for the game. The trailer mentions that it is planned for arcade release in Japan in 2015.
Zapdos (Japanese: サンダー Thunder) is a dual-type Legendary Pokémon.

It is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon.

Along with Articuno and Moltres, it is one of the three Legendary birds of Kanto.

Biology
Zapdos is an avian Pokémon with predominantly yellow plumage. Black rings encircle its eyes, and it has a long, thin, light orange beak. Its wings and tail are a mass of spiky feathers, with black feathers covering the back of its wings and inner tail feathers. A large crest of spiked feathers surrounds its head. Its thighs are a khaki color, and it has Bird anatomy feet ending in talons.

When Zapdos flaps its glittering wings, it releases electricity that can potentially cause thunderstorms. It produces massive crackling and snapping sounds when it flies; these are attributed to the lightning bolts sheds when airborne. When stricken by lightning, it gains power. Zapdos reportedly appears only during thunderstorms, and is said to live among thunderclouds. However, it is List of Pokémon by habitat

In the anime
Major appearances
Zapdos (M02)
Zapdos made its first true appearance in The Power of One. Lawrence III wanted to capture the three Legendary birds as well as their master Lugia.

Other
The Electric Pokémon made its anime debut appearance in As Clear As Crystal. When TRT made an attempt to steal a crystal that gave a lake the ability to heal Electric Pokémon, they were side-tracked when Zapdos showed up and they changed their objective to capture Zapdos instead.

The Mirage Master briefly wielded the power of a mirage Zapdos in The Mastermind of Mirage Pokémon.

Minor appearances
A rough image of Zapdos was first seen etched in a stone hanging in the Viridian Pokémon Center in Pokémon Emergency.

The first time Zapdos was seen was in Island of the Giant Pokémon. However, it wasn't a real Zapdos, just a machine.

A Zapdos appeared in An EGG-sighting Adventure! as part of TRT's fantasy.

A Zapdos made an appearance in the credits of Pokémon Ranger and the Temple of the Sea. Jackie had captured it with a Capture Styler and flew away on it.

A Zapdos made a cameo appearance in Doc Brock!. This may have been taken from Platinum, where in this version, there is a Zapdos roaming Sinnoh. Presumably the same Zapdos made a cameo in a flashback in Dealing With a Fierce Double Ditto Drama!, and both of Narissa's Ditto transformed into it.

A Zapdos made a cameo in the intro of Lucario and the Mystery of Mew, The Rise of Darkrai and Zoroark: Master of Illusions.
In the Pokémon Adventures manga
Having captured this Legendary bird in the abandoned Power Plant as in the games, Lt. Surge appears with Zapdos in his team during the events of 3, using it as a never-ending power source for his Electric types, allowing them to continually shock Red at full force, a strategy that turns against him when Red uses Saur's Razor Leaf to cut the supply cords and his insulating underwear with them. After having been merged with Articuno and Moltres into an undiscovered Pokémon, the three Pallet Town Trainers are able to defeat the combined monster, so it leaves his team, and Team Rocket afterwards to go back to the wild.

Green later captures Zapdos before the Gold, Silver, & Crystal and uses it against Will and Karen, having caught it and its Legendary bird companions on her personal training journey to overcome her fear of birds. During this battle, it is lent to Blue when things get rough. Once returned, it is put back in its Poké Ball and isn't seen again, meaning it has either been deposited into her box or released.

Super Smash Bros. Melee
When released from a Poké Ball, Zapdos uses a powerful Thunder Shock that hits opponents several times to produce a substantial amount of damage.

Trophy information
Zapdos flaps its wings, and summer storms appear, throwing lightning every which way. It's said that you can hear this legendary Pokémon coming, as its wings make a very distinctive popping sound as it flies. In addition to electrical moves like the dreaded Thunder, it also wields a vicious move called Drill Peck.

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U
Zapdos appear in the background of the Prism Tower stage in the 3DS version of the game.
In the Generation I games and their remakes, the player can catch Zapdos with only the Boulder, Cascade, and Soul.
* Zapdos shares its species name with Elekid and Electabuzz. They are all known as the Electric Pokémon.
* Zapdos and Jolteon's Japanese names are almost exactly the same as each other's, with a final s being the only difference.
* Zapdos possesses a type advantage over all other members of its trio, as well as its trio master, Lugia.
* In the anime episode The Bridge Bike Gang, Chopper's bike was decorated to look like a Zapdos.
* In Generation V, Zapdos has Lightningrod<!--spelling in that generation--> instead of Static as its Hidden Ability. However, it cannot be obtained with its Hidden Ability in these games.

Origin
Zapdos is based on the Native American legend of the thunderbird (mythology). The thunderbird was known for being the spirit of thunder, lightning, and rain in the form of a giant bird. The beating of the wings was said to create thunder. It may also have been based on the Lightning Bird, a bird created from wherever lightning hits the earth. It may also have been based on the Impundulu, a bird of witchcraft said to summon thunder and lightning with its wings and talons.

Name origin
Zapdos is a combination of zap and dos (Spanish language for two, indicating that it is the second in the series of Kanto Legendary birds).

Thunder is literally thunder.
Conkeldurr (Japanese: ローブシン Roubushin) is a Fighting Pokémon.

It evolves from Gurdurr when traded. It is the final form of Timburr.

Biology
Conkeldurr is a bipedal sepia-colored Pokémon resembling an ogre. Its nose is large and red, with its face also having a prominent brow, a wide mouth, a gray tuft on its chin, dark rings around its eyes and a bulbous feature sticking up from the back of its head. Thick violet bands and tendons adorn its shoulders, chest, back and thighs. It is known to carry concrete pillars in its massive arms, which it uses to attack strongly without using physical strength or to support its massive upper body. Conkeldurr can create concrete, a technique it was believed to have taught humans 2000 years ago. It is often seen around construction sites helping construction workers.
Trivia
* Conkeldurr's evolutionary line shares many similarities with Machamp's evolutionary line. Both of them are Fighting Pokémon whose Attack is their highest stat, have below average Speed, have the same gender ratio, have three evolutionary stages, reach their respective final-evolutionary form through trading and have the same base stat total.
* Due to the censor that prevents Pokémon with offensive nicknames being traded on the GTS, an English language Conkeldurr cannot be traded on the GTS without a nickname in Black and White.
* In Pokémon Conquest, Conkeldurr and its pre-evolved form, Gurdurr, are the only Pokémon that share a max link of 100% with five different Warriors, which is the highest amount found in the game.

Origin
At first glance, Conkeldurr's brutal humanoid appearance suggests inspiration from ogres of folklore. Timburr's Pokédex entry supports that it and its evolutions are based on construction workers. Due to its clown nose and buff body, it may have also been based on a muscleman Glossary of 'carny' slang from a Sideshow. It also seems to be based on an elderly person since it has a gray tuft under its chin and uses its pillars as walking canes.

Name origin
Conkeldurr may be a combination of concrete and elder. It may also involve conk, having meaning as both an especially large nose and to hit someone on the head.

Roubushin may be a combination of 老 rō (old) and 武神 bushin (warlord) or 普請 hushin (construction work/public work).
