"The Leaf Forest appeared in The March of the Exeggutor Squad, which is a reported hotbed of Leaf Stones. ("March of the Exeggutor Squad" is a hotbed? ;b) The radiation from these stones in the forest is so strong that it caused Melvin's Exeggcute to evolve." Reported when? According to the episode's info: "In the Japanese version, when Melvin's Exeggcute starts to evolve, James questions how it could be evolving without a Leaf Stone around. (Well it'd have to touch it, but yeah.) This isn't acknowledged in the English dub. On a similar note, the sign posted outside the forest originally warns that taking an Exeggcute into the forest will ensure its evolution. The English dub implies this with a painting of an Exeggcute pointing to an Exeggutor (it's Exeggcute/arrow/Exeggutor, not a pointing Exeggcute, to be clear ;), though it does not directly state this. Contrary to popular belief, however, it was never indicated in the Japanese version that the [[Leaf_Forest|forest]] had a large deposit of Leaf Stones buried underneath that caused their evolution." And the sign only ever says that it can evolve Exeggcute. ("The area functions similar to a Leaf Stone, causing some species of Grass-type Pokémon to evolve without warning.")
