ContestShipping (Japanese: シュウハル ShuHaru) is the name given to the May/Drew coupling supported by many fans of the Pokémon anime. It is considered by many to be the most obvious pairing in the anime, aside from PokéShipping. The name, ContestShipping, stems from the fact that the pair, May and Drew, are rivals that compete against each other in Pokémon Contests.

The following list is a summary of points in the Pokémon Anime that the majority of ContestShippers believe points to possible romantic feelings between Drew and May. Unlike PokéShipping, these points have not yet been debated extensively, and the following summaries can at this point only be considered to be showing how ContestShippers interpret events, not as being a conclusive interpretation agreed upon by all.

* Win, Lose or Drew!
: Drew's second appearance on the television series introduces the recurring theme of Drew giving May roses. Drew hands his rose to May who stares at it in surprise. She blushes and thanks him for the rose to which Drew responds with, "It's not for you, it's for your May! It looks like the coordinator still has a lot of training to do."

* Pros and Con Artists!
: After May's Beautifly performs its failed Gust and String Shot combination, Drew appears and makes a negative comment about May's ability as a coordinator. He openly flirts with May this time, claiming that he's flattered that she remembered his name and subsequently hands her a second rose. Before he leaves, he warns May to not "get her hopes up." His excuse for coming to talk to her was to see Beautifly, a common excuse at the begining of the series.

* Come What May!
: Upon receiving her first ribbon from the Fallarbor Contest, May is congratulated by Drew, who delivers his third rose. Upon receiving it, May asks Drew rather coyly if the rose is for Beautifly again, indicating that she has suspicions as to the true nature of his roses. Drew slightly admits that the roses aren't really for Beautifly as he responds to her question with a dubious "Yeah... Something like that..." Also, near the end of this episode, Drew is seen with a Masquerain, which is a Pokémon that breeds nicely with Beautifly, one of which May has.

* Disaster of Disguise
: As May and company arrive at the Verdanturf Pokémon Center to see Drew handing his badly injured Roselia to Nurse Joy. They go up to him and find out it was hurt in a battle, to which Ash replies testily, "So you mean you lost?" As Drew leaves, he cautions May to watch out for a Coordinator called "The Phantom."

* Hi Ho Silver Wind
: Amidst May and Drew's conversation, Harley interrupts and notices that May has received her fourth rose from Drew. He immediately suspects that May and Drew are in love which causes May to blush and protest at Harley's remark.

: While Harley is talking to May in the background, Drew is seen in the foreground sulking, indicating that he's jealous of Harley. Although his behavior may be passed off as suspicion, Drew makes no apparent efforts to stave May away from Harley's false advice.

* Deceit and Assist
: While May was following Harley's false advice, Drew constantly watches Harley, and catches him slipping up. Later on, when May apologizes for not going through with Skitty's Assist the whole way, Drew tells her about Harley's plan. Unbelieving, May went face to face with a foiled Harley, who remarked, albeit rather angrily, in turn that "It almost worked too, and you never would have known if your annoying boyfriend over here had kept his trap shut." Neither May nor Drew bothered correcting his statement.

* Rhapsody In Drew!
: When May and Drew say their goodbyes at the end of the episode, May blushingly stares after Drew as he walks away down the beach. She barely seems to acknowledge Ash, Brock, Max, and her mother, all who have come over and are standing right next to her.

: While May is talking to her friends and family, May's mother, Caroline, interrupts and teases her daughter about Drew. In response, May overreacts and protests in embarrassment.

* Harley Rides Again
: At the end of the episode following May's defeat to Harley, May receives a letter and a rose from Drew via Lilian which informs her of another contest where she can again qualify for another ribbon. It is noted that this rose is given an unusual amount of focus during this double-take in which it takes up the entire screen.

* Odd Pokémon Out
: May is holding the rose and the letter she receives in the previous episode while on a boat. She apparently considers these two items as sentimental to her. As May already knows quite well what Drew means with the roses at this point in time now, her keeping and looking at Drew's romantic token that appeared in a prior episode is quite significant.

* Spontaneous Combusken!
: At the beginning of the episode Ash is practicing with his Sceptile who as recently been unable to preform any attacks. Then, Drew makes his appearance, giving Ash advice on broken hearts. Drew has already battled Ash "for May's affection" (as ContestShippers believe, although many shippers believe that you cannot fight for love in that sense) and this could be another way of Drew humiliating Ash, "seeing Ash as a rival to May".

: It is revealed that the rose and the letter was not sent by Drew but by a rookie coordinator named Brianna. May teases Drew about the mix-up, rationalizing that it's not her fault for thinking the rose and the letter was from him. Drew gets slightly embarrassed and blushes when his Roselia begins teasing him as well.

: Brianna presses the question if May likes Drew or not. In response, May's behavior becomes cautious and coy as she blushes, obviously sensitive to the idea of her and Drew being a couple.

: After the battle with Brianna and May, Ash asks Drew how he thinks about it, he replies with a 'so-so'. Brock remarks teasingly with, "Gee, Drew, why don't you tell us how you really feel?"

: Jessie is made to notice May's love life twice in this episode. She first comments about young love when talking to Brianna and May. The second time, she's sitting with James on the beach, commenting and reminiscing on young love. James and MTR observe from a distance, confused with her out of character personality.

: At the end of the episode, Drew reminds May that she only has two ribbons left until the Grand Festival in Kanto. Again, Drew walks off on the beach with May staring after him, blushing.

* Going for Choke
: When Ash, Brock and Max flew away with Team Rocket's Balloon, Drew followed it and rescued them. : When Ash thanks Drew later, Drew says that he only did it for May, so someone could cheer her on.

: Near the end of the episode, when May talks to her friends, Drew appears again. Ash starts telling that Drew saved them, however May rushes over to Drew without listening to him. Max tells Ash that she didn't hear what he was saying.
: When Drew says goodbye, May whispers his name and smiles at him as he walks away.

* May, We Harley Drew'd Ya!
: May meets Solidad, one of Drew's old friends, and talk for a bit. Solidad tells her that she and Drew are close, and talk to each other often. When May asks her what they talk about, Solidad smiles and tells her, "He's the type who never listens to anyone else's advice. So, we end up talking about other coordinators we might've seen in performance, and at some point, he started in on you. You and only you." Later, Solidad tells May, "He's gotten feelings for you." This left May confused.

* Channeling the Battle Zone
: After May's and Drew's battle, when May's giving her Pokémon food, Drew shows up, shakes hands with her and comments her combinations.

: After May's loss to Solidad, Drew is seen watching Solidad's victory. Though he's friends with her and knew her a longer time then May, he didn't seem happy for her, probably feeling sorry for May.

: At the end of the episode, Solidad gives May a rose from Drew. May runs after Drew so she could say goodbye. When Drew has left and Ash, Brock, Max and Scott has showed up, May looks quietly and smiling at the rose she got from Drew.

* The Unbeatable Lightness of Seeing!
: In this episode Drew shows up to help cheer May up. When the two are talking alone, May says, "I've been thinking a lot about you lately." Drew quickly, but calmly, replies, "Were they good thoughts?" May quickly responds saying, "Come on, of course they were!" She then continues to talk about their past in a fond manner.
:Near the end of the episode, Drew and May are seen watching the sunset. It gives the impression that they were talking for a long time and they continue to talk in a fond way until they are interrupted by Harley. When Harley seems to observe that they liked each other, May immediately tries to deny it. Both Drew and Harley reveal that they will be entering the contests in Johto.

* Decisive Match! Dawn VS May!
: Drew and May's other rivals were seen watching her battle. Some Contestshippers believe Drew was watching because he cares deeply for May and her accomplishments.
Tracey Sketchit (Japanese: ケンジ Kenji) is a Pokémon watcher from the Orange Islands saga of the anime. His Japanese voice actor is 関智一 Tomokazu Seki, his English voice actors are Ed Paul (4Kids dub) and Craig Blair (PUSA/TAJ dub), his Brazilian voice actors are Rogério Vieira (until the end of the Johto League) and Vagner Fagundes (Pokémon Chronicles; AG128-present), and his Latin-American Spanish voice actors are Alfredo Leal (until the end of the Orange Islands) and Javier Olguín (rest of the series).

Character
Tracey enjoys sketching Pokémon and uses this skill as a Pokémon watcher. He meets Ash and Misty in The Lost Lapras and finds out that they're friends with Professor Oak, his idol. Because of that, he decided to travel with them in order to meet him.

Although no details are known about his past, Tracey does have a very broad knowledge about Pokémon. This has helped the three of them in their journey many times along the way. Like Brock, he seems to have a soft spot for pretty girls. However, Tracey is more self-conscious and doesn't go overboard about them as Brock does. He expresses his interest by simply drawing them.

Since The Rivalry Revival, Tracey lives with Professor Oak in Pallet Town, where he serves as his loyal assistant. He occasionally visits the Cerulean City Gym, either to run an errand for Professor Oak or invited by Misty's older sister, Daisy.

He is very reserved and gentle person and has a hard time saying no to anyone. This is most predominate in his relationship with Daisy, who uses him often to help out with her chores. While taking care of the Pokémon in the Oak Corral Tracey has befriended many of the Pokémon that reside there, particularly Ash's Bulbasaur.

There have been a rare incidents where Tracey was seen getting angry. In The Lost Lapras, Misty comments that she doesn't know how famous Professor Oak is and Tracey barks back at her saying that Professor Oak is the most respected researcher on the entire planet. Another time was in Journey to the Starting Line when a boy named Gilbert said that he wouldn't want to have the annoyance of raising a Pokémon himself. Angered, Tracey yelled at him saying that training Pokémon was the most important part of being a Pokémon trainer. Professor Oak even had to step in to calm Tracey down.

Like Tracey has admiration for Professor Oak, Max seemed to have admiration for him. He complimented Tracey on his artwork and told him how lucky he was to be working with Professor Oak and even wished that he could draw Pokémon one day.

Pokémon watching
Tracey has some tricks of the trade when it comes to Pokémon watching. To avoid being detected by the Pokémon he's observing, he always makes sure that he approaches it from downwind to avoid his scent being picked up by his subject. Also he makes sure to change his breathing rhythm to match the Pokémon's so that he will not be heard.

He also has the unique ability to know what move a Pokémon is going to use just by the way it moves. This was seen when he knew James's James was going to use Razor Leaf while battling with Scyther in Tracey Gets Bugged.

Tracey was seen riding a Dodrio in a flashback in The Lost Lapras when Nurse Joy described the work of a Pokémon watcher. Whether it belonged to him or simply borrowed is unknown.

Trivia
* Tracey is the only one of Ash's friends with an officialy revealed last name. Though some might argue about Misty and Brock's last names, Tracey's name was the only one to be mentioned in the anime.
* Tracey is the only one of Ash's companions and main protagonist in which there is no information about where he's from or who his family is. Though a lot of people suspect he is from somewhere in the Orange Islands, there is really no proof that his home town is located there.
* Tracey has the shortest amount of airtime out of all of Ash's companions.
* It is thought that his Japanese name, Kenji, is based on the name of Ken Sugimori, the graphics design lead for the Pokémon games. The ji element in Kenji may be 二, second (son), which could be taken to mean that he has an older brother, much similar to that of Paul Shinji. His name also contains ケン ken which can mean "to see" possibly referring to his Pokémon watching.
* Though most of the main characters have carried a Pokémon egg with them, some multiple times, Tracey is the only main character whose Pokémon actually produced an egg.
* Tracey is one of two of Ash's friends who is not or part of a Gym Leader family. The other is Dawn. Though this is only a presumption being that his family is a mystery.
* Tracey is one of two of Ash's friends whose debut episode didn't really focus around them. The other is Misty.
* In the original Japanese, as well as the Spanish dub, his surname hasn't been mentioned.
* He is the only main protagonist not based on an in-game character.
* Tracey holds a rather dubious honor: since he replaced Brock during the Orange Islands episodes, he was heavily bashed by some vocal Brock supporters.
* Tracey's color scheme changed as of the Advanced Generation series. His hair went from black to green and his skin has become tanner. Also, he appears smaller than he was in the original series.
* Tracey is the only main character who has had no Pokémon evolve.
