[[Image:Eve.jpg|thumb|Eve holding an artifact]]'''Eve''' (Japanese: '''ホクト''' ''Hokuto'') is a [[character of the day]] of the [[Pokémon anime]] who appeared in ''[[EP072|The Ancient Puzzle of Pokémopolis]]''. She is voiced by [[Amy Birnbaum]] in English and 今井由香 ''Yuka Imai'' in Japanese.

An archaeologist, Eve took credit for uncovering the ancient lost city of [[Pokémopolis]], located near modern day [[Pallet Town]]. However, Eve soon learned her discovery was much more complicated (and dangerous) than it seemed.

After accidentally awakening a [[Giant Pokémon|giant]] {{p|Gengar}} and {{p|Alakazam}}, Eve was horrified at what she had done. She feared that the two would destroy Pallet Town and the entire {{pkmn||world}}. Thankfully, a giant {{p|Jigglypuff}} put the other giants to {{status|sleep}}, and everything went back to normal.

Although Eve had been terrified at what happened, it didn't frighten her away from continuing to be an archaeologist. In fact, it made her want to study Pokémopolis even more than ever.

==Trivia==
*In the English dub, Eve was given a French accent. Her appearance resembles that of [[Rosebay]] from ''[[DP013|A Staravia is Born!]]'', who had a British accent.
*Her English name may be a reference to the female lead in ''{{wp|The Mummy (1999 film)|The Mummy}}''.

This is a minor concern, but please make sure that a set is released in stores before adding it to the current metagame. I noticed that someone added {{TCG|Legends Awakened}} before it's release date, and that is incorrect. Technically, even if prereleases for a set have taken place, a set is not legal until it hits stores. :Yeah, I added it without thinking as soon as we finished the Legends Awakened pages. I've been to enough prereleases to know the cards aren't legal until release, so this was just a minor error. Incidentally, however, you've edited the page too early: officially, the new rotation doesn't come into effect until September 1 of every year, regardless of when Worlds takes place. Eevee is a mammalian creature with brown fur, a bushy tail that has a cream-colored tip, and a furry collar that is also cream-colored. Eevee has brown eyes and big ears. It has traits of {{wp|raccoon}}s, {{wp|fox}}es, {{wp|dog}}s, and {{wp|cat}}s. Eevee has an irregular genetic code and can sometimes evolve in accordance to its environment. Seven evolutions for this Pokémon have been discovered so far. Three of these evolutions are the result of Eevee being exposed to either a Fire Stone, Thunderstone or Water Stone. Two more of the evolutions involve maximum affection with the {{pkmn|Trainer}} and accordance to the time of day. The final two evolutions are the result of training in two specific areas, [[Eterna Forest]] and [[Route 217]].

Most of Eevee's offensive moves are Normal-type attacks such as {{m|Tackle}} and {{m|Quick Attack}}, but it can also {{m|Bite}} its opponents and use {{m|Shadow Ball}}. However, it's unique in that it is unable to learn most other elemental attacks that other normal-types can utilize, at least not in its current state. Eevee can also learn supportive moves such as {{m|Helping Hand}} and {{m|Wish}}. Eevee is one of the four Pokémon that can learn {{m|Trump Card}}. Some Eevee have the ability {{a|Adaptability}}, which makes any Normal-type attack that they use become stronger than when used by any other Normal-type Pokémon whose attack power is the same as Eevee's. Eevee is said to have an irregularly shaped genetic structure, enabling it to evolve into multiple Pokémon. This code may also shed some light on its ability, Adaptability.

===Behavior===
Eevee's behavior can be affected by its surroundings. Eventually, with enough alteration, the Eevee may evolve to better suit its surroundings. According to [[Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team|Pokémon Mystery Dungeon]], Eevee has a naive personality, meaning childlike, playful, and friendly. In the anime, Eevee don't appear to have any characteristic quirks but are usually affectionate, loyal and fairly energetic Pokémon.

The experiments gave Eevee the characteristic of being able to mutate into three of its evolved forms, namely {{p|Vaporeon}}, {{p|Jolteon}}, and {{p|Flareon}}, though not at will. {{adv|Red}} eventually captures this Eevee. When it evolves into [[Vui|Espeon]], however, it loses its mutation ability.

Eevee is a mammalian creature with brown fur, a bushy tail that has a cream-colored tip, and a furry collar that is also cream-colored. Eevee has brown eyes and big ears. Seven evolutions for this Pokémon have been discovered so far. Three of these evolutions are the result of Eevee being exposed to either a Fire Stone, Thunderstone or Water Stone. Two more of the evolutions involve maximum affection with the {{pkmn|Trainer}} and accordance to the time of day. The final two evolutions are the result of training in two specific areas, [[Eterna Forest]] and [[Route 217]].

Some Eevee have the ability {{a|Adaptability}}, which makes any Normal-type attack that they use become stronger than when used by any other Normal-type Pokémon whose attack power is the same as Eevee's. Eevee's behavior can be affected by its surroundings. Eventually, with enough alteration, the Eevee may evolve to better suit its surroundings. *Fans have come up with a term to refer to all Pokémon which evolve from Eevee: [[Eeveelution]]s.
**All of Eevee's evolutions end in the suffix -eon.
**Eevee and its [[evolution]]s all have a [[catch rate]] of 45.
*In {{ga|Pokémon Ranger}}, all of Eevee's evolutions up to the third generation can be "captured". However, Eevee cannot even be found at all. This was eventually changed in the [[Pokémon Ranger: Shadows of Almia|sequel]].
*Eevee's name is a {{wp|palindrome}}; it shares this distinction with {{p|Girafarig}} and {{p|Ho-Oh}}.

It has traits of {{wp|fennec fox}}es and {{wp|cat}}s. It is possibly based on the folklore of {{wp|Tanuki}}, who is said to be able to transform and is the alternative name for the {{wp|Japanese raccoon dog}}. It may also be based on the concept of dog breeding and the multitude of variations that arose from it.

Eevee's name is a pronunciation of ''E-V'', the first two letters in the word [[evolution]].

Eevee was originally going to be called "Eon," the suffix of all the evolutions of Eevee, which probably is a shortening of "evolution". Eon also means a long time, which is how long it takes for {{wp|evolution}} to take place in the real world.
