''When Lilligant joins the other Pokémon at Cerise Laboratory, Heracross, who was infatuated with Pinsir, is now smitten with Lilligant! While Goh tries to cheer Pinsir up, Chloe discovers a Pokémon flower-arranging class. It seems like a great way to lift Pinsir’s spirits, so our heroes want to join in, too! Guided by Celadon City’s Gym Leader, Erika, the group learns about the importance of flower decorating with Pokémon! But Team Rocket wants to “pick flowers,” too…and steal Pikachu. Team Rocket attacks, but when Pinsir steps in to protect Heracross, their relationship is restored! Now no one will ever forget the connection between Pokémon and flower arranging!''

==Plot==
{{Ash}} and [[Goh]] return to [[Cerise Laboratory|Cerise Park]] from a trip to [[Unova]], with Goh presenting [[List of Goh's Pokémon|his Pokémon]] with their newest playmate: {{DL|List of Goh's Pokémon|Lilligant}}. The Pokémon of Cerise Park find Lilligant's sweet aroma very soothing and charming, but none more so than {{TP|Goh|Heracross}}. When {{TP|Goh|Pinsir}} comes to bring Heracross a flower wreath it has made for him, it's distraught to see its beloved being in love with someone else. Goh soon notices Pinsir's depression, and after witnessing Heracross being smitten by the scent of Lilligant's flower, he realizes that Pinsir must been distraught over Lilligant "stealing" Heracross's love from it.

While thinking of a solution for Pinsir's problem, Ash and Goh overhear [[Chloe]] telling [[Professor Cerise]] about a [[Pokémon Flower Arrangement]] class she and {{TP|Chloe|Eevee}} are planning to attend in order to meet a {{p|Leafeon}}. Goh latches onto the idea that learning about flowers could help Pinsir win over Heracross again and decides to attend as well. Chloe is initially confused by Goh suddenly inserting himself into her plans, but an explanation during the bus ride to [[Celadon City]] makes her understand the situation.

Ash, Goh, and Chloe arrive at the [[Celadon Gym]], where they sign up for the class and are greeted by [[Gym Leader]] [[Erika]], who recognizes Ash as the person who saved {{p|Gloom|her Pokémon}} back when [[EP026|the Gym caught fire]]. She tells Chloe that the Celadon Gym researches aromas emitted by flowers and Pokémon, such as her Leafeon, and makes perfumes out of them. As per usual, Eevee eagerly mimics her evolved form's movements, with Chloe explaining to Erika that her Eevee is unsure what she wants to [[Evolution|evolve]] into, so they're trying to get as much experiences as they can. Moving over to the Gym's greenhouse, Erika explains to the group the concept of Pokémon flower arranging, which uses decorating Pokémon with flowers as a way to express the bond between them and their {{pkmn|Trainer}}s, with her decorating her Leafeon as an example. Erika's attention is drawn to Goh when he mentions he wishes to use the flowers to make his Pokémon fall in love with each other. At first, Goh thinks Erika is judging him over this, but instead, she finds the idea lovely and offers to support it in any way she can.

Outside the glass wall of the greenhouse, {{TRT}} is plotting to make yet another attempt to steal {{AP|Pikachu}}. As such, they infiltrate the class in [[List of Team Rocket's disguises|disguise]], looking for a chance to snatch Pikachu unnoticed while pretending to decorate {{MTR}} and {{TP|Jessie|Wobbuffet}}. When Erika recommends everyone to come up with performances that'll make use of their Pokémon's characteristics, Ash gets the idea to use a box filled with [[Christmas]] decorations to his advantage, while Goh comes up with an idea involving {{TP|Goh|Grookey}}. When the time to present the finished works arrives, Team Rocket sneaks outside under the pretense of going to pick some flowers. Since Pikachu stuck too close to Ash to be snatched without being noticed, they decide to grab the {{pkmn|category|Mouse Pokémon}} by force and call down the [[Rocket Prize Master]], which gives them a {{p|Lurantis}} and a {{p|Leavanny}}.

Back inside, Chloe, Ash, and Goh each present their Pokémon in turns. Eevee is decorated with the same kinds of flowers Erika had decorated her own Leafeon with earlier; Pikachu is decorated with {{wp|Christmas lights}} that he powers up with a {{m|Thunderbolt}}; and Pinsir has donned a flowery dress and decorations, with Grookey using its powers to make the buds in the costume bloom and thus make it even more beautiful. Goh reveals that he brought Heracross along too so he could see Pinsir with its flower decorations. However, just as he calls Heracross out, Team Rocket snatches Pikachu with Leavanny's {{m|String Shot}} and takes off their disguises, causing everyone's attention to focus on them. James tells Leavanny to use String Shot again to catch more Pokémon, but Erika has Leafeon use {{m|Razor Leaf}} to cut the strings before they reach anyone, while Pikachu frees himself with {{m|Iron Tail}} and joins the {{pkmn|battle}}.

While Lurantis and Heracross exchange blows, Eevee uses {{m|Copycat}} to mimic Leafeon's Razor Leaf, which, combined with Pikachu's Thunderbolt, is enough to defeat Leavanny. Lurantis pushes Heracross back with {{m|Petal Blizzard}}, before charging up a {{m|Solar Beam}}. Seeing its beloved is in trouble, Pinsir jumps in front of the Solar Beam just as it's fired, taking the hit for Heracross. Goh has Pinsir use {{m|X-Scissor}}, which sends Lurantis flying into Team Rocket and causes them to blast off again. While Pinsir's flower costume was destroyed by the Solar Beam, the bravery Pinsir just showed was enough for it to win back Heracross's love.

As the group prepares to leave, Erika gives Chloe a bottle of Leafeon perfume, and Pinsir, flustered by Heracross trying to hold its hand, suddenly grabs him with its pincers as a form of hug, causing both Heracross and Goh to panic in surprise.

The boy wants to learn about Pokémon moves, and Ash and Torracat demonstrate some of their skills, even receiving a Firium Z from a Totem Trevenant. But the fun suddenly ends when Celebi transports our hero back to the present day. Ash wonders where the boy went, but he’s also happy to see all his Pokémon again!

==Plot==
A {{OBP|Celebi|recurring}} flies through a [[Time Ripple|time ripple]] and stumbles across {{Ash}} and his Pokémon while they are in the middle of a practice {{pkmn|battle}}. Meanwhile, over at the Professors' residence, {{an|Professor Burnet}} shows {{an|Professor Kukui|her husband}} one of his childhood photos. Kukui is embarrassed by it, admitting that he was only five years old at the time, but Burnet finds it adorable. He asks where she found it and Burnet pulls out an old book she found in a storage closet. Kukui is thrilled to see his old "Book of Pokémon Super [[Move]]s" and reminisces about the times he used to spend watching [[Hala]]'s battles. He reveals that, as a child, he tried to challenge Hala, but the [[island kahuna]] admitted that he was still too young at the time. Kukui, however, was unfazed and proudly showed off his [[Firium Z]]. Burnet then spots the {{TP|Professor Kukui|Litten}} in the photo, and Kukui explains that Litten was actually his parent's Pokémon.

Meanwhile, {{AP|Torracat}} uses {{m|Fire Blast}} and {{AP|Lycanroc}} counters with {{m|Stone Edge}}. The resulting explosion whips up a powerful gust that prompts Celebi to [[time travel]] in order to escape. However, it also accidentally transports Ash and Torracat into the past along with it. Torracat encounters a Litten and recognizes it as Kukui's Incineroar, after which a younger Kukui emerges from the bushes. Kukui is thrilled to see a Torracat in person and tries to pat it, but Torracat is intimidated and distances itself. As Ash pats Torracat to settle it down, Kukui spots Ash's [[Z-Power Ring]] and asks if he is participating in the [[island challenge]]. Kukui shows off his own Firium Z and Ash admits that he doesn't even have that [[Z-Crystal]] yet. The young Kukui declares himself the winner before asking Ash to show him a fully-fledged {{m|Inferno Overdrive}}. Though initially hesitant, Ash borrows Kukui's Firium Z and aims an attack at a rock. Ash takes a moment to recall how {{an|Kiawe}} performs the [[Z-Move]] and, to his surprise, his own attempt at it works. The Inferno Overdrive destroys the rock into small fragments, astounding Kukui, who gives Ash the nickname "Move Kahuna". He then challenges Ash to a battle, and Ash accepts.

As a crowd of [[wild Pokémon]] assembles around them, Ash nicknames Kukui "Roarie" because of his signature {{p|Incineroar}} hat, which Kukui accepts. He orders Litten to use {{m|Ember}}, but Torracat swats away the move with its front paw before using {{m|Flame Charge}} and following up with Fire Blast. Roarie struggles to think of a counterattack, but Litten is quickly knocked out. He starts crying at his loss, but Litten begins licking his face to cheer him up. Ash walks over and tells Roarie that they can battle another time, but Roarie claims using Fire Blast was unfair. Ash admits that it was Roarie who wanted a full-power battle but says there is always the chance of Roarie winning next time. The advice invigorates Roarie, who tells Litten that they will continue to get strong enough to beat the Move King.

Torracat tugs on Ash's shorts to alert him that they are being watched, but Roarie admits the wild Pokémon are his friends and waves them over. The Pokémon quickly run out of the woods and surround the two Trainers. Shortly after, a {{pkmn2|Totem}} {{p|Trevenant}} approaches them. Roarie runs towards Trevenant, referring to it as Elder. As he leaps onto one of Elder's roots, Roarie admits that the Totem Pokémon gifted him with the Firium Z. Elder suddenly sneezes, and Roarie has Litten use {{m|Scratch}} to ease its symptoms.

Suddenly, a rainstorm approaches, forcing Elder to manipulate the trees into forming a shelter for all of the Pokémon, Ash, and Roarie. Ash's attention turns to the book in Roarie's hands, and he explains it is his move index. Roarie says seeing moves in-person is much better and asks Ash how Torracat learned Fire Blast. When Ash says he practiced, Roarie is curious about Ash's battling experiences, and Ash explains that before coming to [[Alola]], he traveled to many cities to compete in [[Gym]]s. Ash adds that a successful Trainer earns a [[Badge]], and with enough Badges, they can compete in the region's [[Pokémon League]]. The sound of a battle festival excites Roarie, and he asks what happens after if one wins a League. Ash doesn't answer, instead, he mentions his goal of becoming a [[Pokémon Master]]. Roarie doesn't understand the concept but declares that he wants to become a Master too.

When the rain recedes, Ash and Roarie thank Elder for its help, but it begins sneezing again and Scratch doesn't work this time. Litten urges Torracat to assist it, and together, the pair climb up into Elder's head canopy. Ash and Roarie also reach the top of Elder's head, where they find a horde of {{p|Cutiefly}} seeking refuge inside. He and Ash lift them out of Elder's shrubbery before using their Fire Pokémon to dry off their wet wings. The Cutiefly fly away and Elder is feeling relieved. Elder produces a Firium Z, and it lands in Ash's hand. Roarie admits that he got his Z-Crystal after he first helped Elder, and as a result, Ash accepts the gift.

Celebi soon flies by and notices an aura radiating from Ash and Torracat. It promptly whisks the pair back to their own timeline, which is not witnessed by Roarie, who is perplexed by the occurrence. Back in his own timeline, Ash finds a tree trunk with overgrown remains in Elder's place. Ash's other Pokémon greet their Trainer, and Ash notices that Lycanroc and the others are [[SM126|covered in dirt]]. Rotom then returns after trying to chase down Celebi for a snapshot. The group returns home to see Burnet preparing lunch. Rotom happily shows Burnet its picture of Celebi; she is startled to see the [[Mythical Pokémon]], believing it must have been drawn to the forest's natural beauty. Meanwhile, Ash calls Kukui over for lunch. Kukui slots in his childhood photo as a bookmark before closing his move guidebook.

Serena is ready to compete in the Dendemille Town Pokémon Showcase—and so is her rival Miette, who once challenged her to a Poké Puff baking contest! As it turns out, the Theme Performance is all about Poké Puffs, and Serena, Miette, and Jessilia (Team Rocket’s Jessie in disguise) all advance to the Freestyle Performance.

After a run-in with Jessie that leaves a noticeable tear in Serena’s costume, she’s worried that this Showcase will end like her last one. But traveling with Ash has taught Serena never to give up, so she grabs her sewing kit to make a few last-second adjustments...and ends up winning the Freestyle Performance and her first Princess Key!

==Plot==
The day before the [[Dendemille Town]] Rookie {{pkmn|Showcase}}, {{an|Serena}} admires the view of Dendemille Town at night alongside her {{TP|Serena|Braixen}} and {{TP|Serena|Pancham}}, determined to win this time round. The following morning, Serena gives {{kal|Grace}} a call, revealing her intent to wear the dress she received from [[Valerie]]. The group proceeds to the arena where the Showcase is to be held, encouraging Serena, when they hear a familiar voice. The voice is revealed to belong to [[Miette]], who shows up with her {{TP|Miette|Slurpuff}} and a male {{p|Meowstic}}. Teasing Serena over her new appearance and crush on Ash, Miette confirms that she intends to compete as well. Privately, Miette also whispers to Serena that she's still intent on having a chat with Ash, flustering Serena. Ash, oblivious to this, wishes both the girls luck. Bonnie remarks on Ash's cluelessness, and that of her brother as well as Clemont is equally confused. From behind the bushes, [[Jessie]] notices the group and declares that she's going to win the Showcase. [[James]] and {{MTR}} agree that Jessie has been specially training for this occasion.

Inside, [[Monsieur Pierre]] begins proceedings as {{Ash}}, {{an|Clemont}} and {{an|Bonnie}} watch in the audience; at the same time, Grace, {{an|Shauna}}, {{an|Tierno}}, {{an|Trevor}}, {{an|Aria}}, {{an|Professor Sycamore}} and his assistants are revealed to be tuning in as well. Pierre reveals that the Showcase will begin with a [[Poké Puff]] bake-off, with only one out of three in each group of participants being allowed to proceed. [[Gena]], [[Pokémon Connoisseur]] [[Santo]] and Showcase Expert [[Delilah]] will be judging. Miette is up first along with two other participants, and she wastes no time in using Slurpuff's superior senses to choose ingredients and Meowstic's {{m|Psychic}} to help in mixing. At the end of the round, the Poké Puffs are brought to the judges for Santo's {{p|Mime Jr.}}, Gena's {{p|Jigglypuff}} and Delilah's {{p|Furfrou}} to sample; Miette is declared the winner. Ash and his friends are impressed at Miette's skill, while Serena silently watches backstage, equally awed.

Jessie, entering as "Jessilia", is next to compete, with Meowth and {{TP|Jessie|Wobbuffet}} as her assistants. Meowth confirms to Jessie that he investigated the judges' Pokémon to find out what [[flavor]]s they liked, and all they would need to do is to bake a Poké Puff that appeals to all three. Meowth succeeds in baking several somewhat lumpy Poké Puffs, but before he can begin decorating Jessie abruptly takes over, much to Meowth and Wobbuffet's horror. Sure enough, Jessie's Poké Puffs end up slathered with a pyramid of cream with a mess of toppings scattered on top. Santo is perturbed at Jessie's design sense, but both Gena and Delilah point out how much the Pokémon are enjoying how Jessie's Poké Puffs taste, and declare Jessie as the winner. As Jessie gushes happily, Serena again marvels at how tough the competition is this time.

Finally, it's Serena's turn to compete. Trying to keep a cool head, Serena assigns Pancham to mixing and Braixen to baking, recalling all the practice they've been doing with baking Poké Puffs for the group's Pokémon. By the end of the round, the judges comment that all three participants have performed excellently, making for a difficult decision. Worried, Serena shuts her eyes tightly as the spotlights move across the stage, finally landing on her much to her surprise and joy. Ash and friends are happy for Serena as their Pokémon hungrily look on at Serena's creations. Miette is likewise pleased that Serena qualified, as are the others tuning in.

Moving onto the next segment, Pierre introduces Jessie as the first competitor for the Freestyle Performance round. James cheers loudly for her, drawing the gazes of the spectators around him. With Wobbuffet and Meowth dressed as clowns, Jessie begins by swinging Meowth around before tossing him into the air, and as he lands, Wobbuffet uses {{m|Counter}} to bounce Meowth up and down. Although initially confused, the audience soon warms up to this act. For a finale Jessie flings a collection of Berries upwards, which Meowth slices into pieces, forming a trio of heart-shaped trees as they land. The audience applauds this act loudly as Ash, his friends and Serena remark on the skilled performance demonstrated. Backstage, Serena proceeds to the stage, only for Jessie to bump into her, knocking her into some props. Jessie rudely dismisses Serena, much to the anger of her Pokémon, but Serena tells them to stand down and apologizes. Jessie haughtily leaves the scene, but before Serena can get up she notices that the collision tore her dress.

Miette is next to perform, and she has Meowstic lift Slurpuff into the air with Psychic as the latter uses {{m|Cotton Spore}}, casting a circle of sparkly dust over her. Clemont comments on Miette's showmanship, to which Bonnie quickly points out Serena's skill. As the other performances go on, Serena begins to worry about her torn dress, but eventually regains her courage as she remembers Ash's own determination. She quickly manages to mend her dress by trimming the hem, running onto the stage at the last minute to begin her performance. Ash and friends cheer for her, though they also note her modified outfit. Beginning with a dance with Pancham, Serena has Pancham use {{m|Dark Pulse}} to scatter purple sparkles around them as Braixen summons pillars of fire while she dances, surrounding the three of them with flames and sparkles. Pancham follows up with {{m|Stone Edge}}, which break apart into more sparkles as Braixen leaps onto them, and the two Pokémon finish with another collision of Dark Pulse and {{m|Flamethrower}}.

With the conclusion of the Showcase, Pierre requests that the audience vote for their favorite contestant. James is first to vote for Jessie, and the judges soon follow with their votes. Ash's group cheers for Serena as their votes join the others from the audience. Unable to help herself, Serena tightly shuts her eyes again, recalling the times when she challenged her mother to a race on {{p|Skiddo}} to pursue her dream, and when she suffered her first defeat at the Coumarine Showcase. Eventually, Serena opens her eyes to see a stream of votes pouring at her; Miette and Jessie are likewise surprised. With most of the votes in her favor, Pierre declares Serena to be the winner of the Dendemille Showcase, much to the joy of Serena and her Pokémon. All of her friends are just as happy and proud for her, with Shauna declaring that she's going to train hard in being a Performer as well. Pierre presents Serena with her first {{DL|Pokémon Showcase|Princess Key}}.

Outside, the group congratulates Serena on her win, pointing out her costume. Serena explains what happened, wondering if she should apologize to Valerie for cutting up the dress she made. Ash comments that Serena looked amazing in it; sneaking from behind, Miette agrees as well, surprising Serena. Miette congratulates Serena but declares that she will win the next competition, and the two rival Performers shake hands. Leaning in, Miette reminds Serena she hasn't forgotten about their "other" competition, referring to Ash, once again flustering Serena as she bids the group farewell. The episode closes with Serena looking proudly at her first Princess Key.
