Officer
I think the name "Officer" is out of place, as it refers to the Trainer Class. Those are simply "gate guards". And also, I think it should be moved to "Gatehouse". The name "lookout station" is neither official nor popular in fandom. --Maxim 16:23, 3 July 2009 (UTC)
:(Apologies for replying to a comment this old, but since this has somewhat of a relevance...)

:Actually, I believe this should be moved to Gate, as from what I'm able to tell, that's the official term for these places, as Generation V has apparently introduced to us. Not only do some people within them call them gates, but if one were to bring up the save screen in one (or hatch an egg inside one and bring up the Pokémon's status), the area name will show up as "<something> Gate" (as opposed to one of the connecting areas as was the case in previous generations); examples include "Bridge Gate" for ones surrounding the bridges, "Opelucid Gate" for ones surrounding Opelucid City (similar naming applies for those around other cities/towns and, based on "Black Gate" near Black City, I suspect "White Gate" for White Forest as well), and even "Route Gate" for the one between Routes 1 and 17. (These are only examples; this is not the complete list of Unova gate names.) These location names apparently solidifies the case for "Gate" being the official term.

:Besides, as far as I can tell, "lookout station" wasn't even a popular fanon term; "guardhouse" and "gatehouse" were far more popular fanon terms. ****, only select few gates in Kanto (and even then only in Generations I and III) and no gates in any other country besides Kanto even had equipment that would qualify for the term "lookout station". --Shiningpikablu252 04:34, 20 April 2011 (UTC)
Would technical gates such as the Ravaged Path, Oreburgh Gate, Mt. Moon, and several other caves be considered gates? :In my opinion, no, because gates as we classify them are man-made buildings whereas caves are naturally built. Located within Black City, it is the counterpart to the White Treehollow of Pokémon White 2.

It can be accessed after Black Tower is unlocked with the Unova Link's Key System.

Description
The Black Tower was established in Black City between the events of Pokémon Black and Pokémon Black 2.

It comprises ten areas, each with a number of trainers. Each area contains a Gate Trainer and a Boss Trainer. To unlock the next area, the player must first defeat the Boss Trainer by defeating the Gate Trainer, who will unlock the Boss Trainer's room. Other trainers in each area may also be challenged. A Nurse on each floor will heal the player's Pokémon after being defeated in battle.

The trainers in each area have a randomly selected team of two Pokémon from a personalized pool of about nine Pokémon. The Boss Trainer of each area has three Pokémon, which are fixed for each battle. The levels increase as the player progresses through the areas, beginning at level 40 and ending at level 80. The Boss Trainers' Pokémon have higher levels than those of other Trainers in the area, and they will be holding in-battle effect items such as In-battle effect item, In-battle effect items, or elemental Gems. The regular Trainers' Pokémon may hold Berries.
The list of items received in this article is currently not accurate -- I got different (but similar, e.g. Protein instead of HP Up) items from what the list shows. So, I think there are different sets of items depending on the floor (e.g. vitamins on certain floors, feathers on others, etc.), and the item that you receive is random every time you beat it. Easy Mode decreases the level of the opponents Pokémon and decreases their Artificial intelligence (AI), greatly decreasing the difficulty of the battles. It can be unlocked after beating the Champion in Pokémon White 2.
