:::::Yes, the artist, Seyanni, did get several details wrong from what we now know about the features of Arceus. First of all, the face has two lines running across it, not just one. There are grey triangles on the inside of each of its legs, and the red parts of its eyes have black slits, like Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina. In addition, the wheel is more pointed and the green circles he/she drew are actually gems. So, really, like I've said before, this fanart is far from accurate, but now there's really no need to replace it (though I've given the site several months to use my own artwork (http://xous54.deviantart.com/art/Arceus-Final-106548360), which is, of course, more accurate) when Arceus is set to be revealed on the 15th (with a leak anywhere from the 12th to the 14th). == ???-type Explanation Doesn't Make Sense ==

One of our members brought up a good point about the explanation (in this article) about why Nintendo put the ??? Arceus in the game. We think that it was put in because Nintendo's code for Multitype required a sprite to be filled for every single type. This is our best guess, and I certainly think it's more plausible than "preventing game crashes for hackers." Hackers can crash the game quite easily otherwise - why would they prevent it in one way when we can do it in a thousand other ways? ::The Safari Zone in G/S/C was there because it was originally supposed to be in there, but they decided later not to include it. And Missingno. was excluded from later games because it was a glitch that was accessible without cheats. They took it out for the same reason that they hire game testers: they want their games to be as glitch-free as possible. Due to the special coding for Multitype, if the page changes to Electric or Ice, the grammar in the article becomes incorrect, displaying as "a Electric-type" or "a Ice-type". As a point in the trivia I think it should be mentioned that Arceus is the only trio master (as of yet and i suspect always will be) not catchable by typical in-game mechanics instead needing to obtain an item solely distributed by a Nintendo event. All others are obtainable in their original generations via typical methods (i.e. just a simple in-game event or simply trading from a complimentary version) rather than and individual physically having to go to a Nintendo event to receive an item that cannot be obtained in games. About the name origin. For me, the most simple theory is not so clearly mentioned in the current name origin section. My theory is: Arceus is just a transcription of "archeos" from latin (meaning archaich). This was confirmed with the newest trailers that pronounce "Arceus" exactly like "archeos" is pronounced. It is the most direct and simple someone can think of, it's more or less the same process used for other Pokémon name such as Luvdisc, since "luv" has the same pronountiation as "love".

I know but it seems kind of pointless, when I fist read the article I thought you'd made a mistake calling it a Dragon-type and when I scrolled down I thought you'd lost your marbles when you were indicating pokeathlon stats for its Bug forme specifically. The Pokedex on the games treats it as a Normal-type. We don't have different coloured articles for Kecleon or Castform and they don't need to be holding special items to change forme. I think leaving it as Normal-type is most convenient and less confusing, also we have articles displaying what TMs and HMs it can learn as different types so why bother with all this. I've ranted on this subject time and time again but isn't it misleading for someone to come across this article and for it to say that Arceus is a Ghost or Ice type (or whatever type that shows up) when Arceus is Normal-type but changes due to an item. This is no different than making Kecleon's page change types randomly because of Color Change, except for what color Arceus changes to, or listing every Pokémon with the chance of having the ability Mummy since any Pokémon except for Arceus and Shedinja can have the Mummy ability. I believe that Arceus needs to be listed as a Normal type as it naturally is when no items are held, just like how Kecleon is when it hasn't been hit by a foe's move or how a Marill is before being hit by a foe with the ability mummy. Hey guys, I was just looking at a picture of Arceus and it occured to me how similar Arceus is to the 'wheel' mentioned in the bible (Ezekiel).

The wheel supposedly came from the heavens or space;

Ezekial 1:5 - "and in the fire was what looked like four living creatures" (Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Arceus?)
Ezekial 1:7 - "Their legs were straight; their feet were like those of a calf and gleamed like burnished bronze" (Could refer to Dialga and Arceus, Dialga being steel (burnished bronze))
Ezekial 1:16-21 - "This was the appearance and structure of the wheels: They sparkled like chrysolite, and all four looked alike. Each appeared to be made like a wheel intersecting a wheel", "the wheels did not turn about as the creatures went. Their rims were high and awesome, and all four rims were full of eyes all around" (Arceus' wheel, at least to me, seems metallic, and the intersection could suggest Arcues inside the wheel. And, there are 4 jewels 'eyes' on the wheel.)

The creatures also have 'wings', which would be similar except for the case of Arceus

I will not argue that Arcues created Shinno but it's only stated that he MAY have created ALL pokemon and the Universe. But let's look at something. Mew has been declared the Original pokemon since Gen 1 without any contradictions. Arcues is a Shinno legendary and so it's only natural that the locals believe it to be the creator. But Mew has officially been stated in again many sources to have EVERY pokemon DNA. IT can transform and use ANY technique. So Arcues could NOT have created Mew as Mew was the 1st pokemon. Plus there are other legendaries from other regions that were said to have created the regions they inhabit. And lastly how can Arcues be a God if humans can capture him? I think we need to go onto Mew and Arcues' pages and make sure that this is clear. This is not opinion but facts backed by sources. with everything I've noticed about the base stats of Pokémon on the Pokédex is that there are two Pokémon that have a completely even base stat spread (base HP=base Atk=Base Def=base SpA=base SpD=base Speed) Arceus has a 120-120-120-120-120-120 base spread effectively making it the strongest base Pokémon in the games to date, but there is one more Pokémon that shares the even base spread with Arceus. It is the weakest base Pokémon in the games to date, Sunkern, who's base spread is 30-30-30-30-30-30 (All stat spreads are in the HP-Atk-Def-SpA-SpD-Speed).

I think that's how people will remember this gen, so I thought we would be calling it the 3D generation, similar to how Generation III was called the Advance Generation. X and Y don't have special meaning in genetics outside of sex chromosomes. Even without a Pokémon Z I'd say it's more a reference to the mathematical variables that are used to establish two different things, than to genetics. Like how Black and White are used as metaphors for things that are opposite. That was actually my first reaction when I found out the names of the games, as "Pokémon X and Y" could be used as a term to refer to paired versions in general. Well, what I'm saying is that I would call it the 3D generation. Feel free to disagree, but it would be better than "Genetic Generation". We think that it was put in because Nintendo's code for Multitype required a sprite to be filled for every single type. About the name origin. For me, the most simple theory is not so clearly mentioned in the current name origin section. My theory is: Arceus is just a transcription of "archeos" from latin (meaning archaich). This was confirmed with the newest trailers that pronounce "Arceus" exactly like "archeos" is pronounced. It is the most direct and simple someone can think of, it's more or less the same process used for other Pokémon name such as Luvdisc, since "luv" has the same pronountiation as "love".

I know but it seems kind of pointless, when I fist read the article I thought you'd made a mistake calling it a Dragon-type and when I scrolled down I thought you'd lost your marbles when you were indicating pokeathlon stats for its Bug forme specifically. I've ranted on this subject time and time again but isn't it misleading for someone to come across this article and for it to say that Arceus is a Ghost or Ice type (or whatever type that shows up) when Arceus is Normal-type but changes due to an item. This is no different than making Kecleon's page change types randomly because of Color Change, except for what color Arceus changes to, or listing every Pokémon with the chance of having the ability Mummy since any Pokémon except for Arceus and Shedinja can have the Mummy ability. I believe that Arceus needs to be listed as a Normal type as it naturally is when no items are held, just like how Kecleon is when it hasn't been hit by a foe's move or how a Marill is before being hit by a foe with the ability mummy. Hey guys, I was just looking at a picture of Arceus and it occured to me how similar Arceus is to the 'wheel' mentioned in the bible (Ezekiel).

The wheel supposedly came from the heavens or space;

Ezekial 1:5 - "and in the fire was what looked like four living creatures" (Dialga, Palkia, Giratina, Arceus?)
Ezekial 1:7 - "Their legs were straight; their feet were like those of a calf and gleamed like burnished bronze" (Could refer to Dialga and Arceus, Dialga being steel (burnished bronze))
Ezekial 1:16-21 - "This was the appearance and structure of the wheels: They sparkled like chrysolite, and all four looked alike. Each appeared to be made like a wheel intersecting a wheel", "the wheels did not turn about as the creatures went. Their rims were high and awesome, and all four rims were full of eyes all around" (Arceus' wheel, at least to me, seems metallic, and the intersection could suggest Arcues inside the wheel. And, there are 4 jewels 'eyes' on the wheel.)

The creatures also have 'wings', which would be similar except for the case of Arceus

== Allegedly created the universe ==

I will not argue that Arcues created Shinno but it's only stated that he MAY have created ALL pokemon and the Universe. But let's look at something. Mew has been declared the Original pokemon since Gen 1 without any contradictions. Arcues is a Shinno legendary and so it's only natural that the locals believe it to be the creator. But Mew has officially been stated in again many sources to have EVERY pokemon DNA. IT can transform and use ANY technique. So Arcues could NOT have created Mew as Mew was the 1st pokemon. Plus there are other legendaries from other regions that were said to have created the regions they inhabit. And lastly how can Arcues be a God if humans can capture him? I think we need to go onto Mew and Arcues' pages and make sure that this is clear. This is not opinion but facts backed by sources. == base stat similarities ==

with everything I've noticed about the base stats of Pokémon on the Pokédex is that there are two Pokémon that have a completely even base stat spread (base HP=base Atk=Base Def=base SpA=base SpD=base Speed) Arceus has a 120-120-120-120-120-120 base spread effectively making it the strongest base Pokémon in the games to date, but there is one more Pokémon that shares the even base spread with Arceus. It is the weakest base Pokémon in the games to date, Sunkern, who's base spread is 30-30-30-30-30-30 (All stat spreads are in the HP-Atk-Def-SpA-SpD-Speed).
If there are any other Pokémon that share this trait, please let me know.

Not saying that this should be removed, because yeah, that is a possibility. But it's unlikely. There doesn't need to be a special sprite to do that... they could have just used the Normal-type sprite in the case that it ends up as a ???-type. Or used some other placeholder... they could have even left it blank. And also, I doubt that Nintendo cares about preventing game crashes due to stuff that is impossible to do without messing with stuff that shouldn't be messed with. I mean, there's probably tons of other ways that someone could crash the game when that person starts altering variables and stuff and I'm sure that Nintendo didn't waste their time trying to prevent those game crashes. Anyway, I have no idea why they made a special sprite for the ???-type. Maybe it was just because the graphics people got bored and decided to have some fun making something pointless (like the truck in Generation I). == Similarities to a Centaur? ==

Well, it came to my mind as I read the article that Arceus might have some similarities with a Qilin, I do not find any with the Centaur as it it mentioned. Sure it's a hooved creature, but so is a regular horse. It doesn't have any of the other qualities of a centaur. I find Arceus more similar to a White Stag http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_stag .
