A number of commercial aircraft have flown with Pokémon-themed liveries throughout the years.

From 1998 to 2016, and again since 2023, All Nippon Airways had various Boeing 747, Boeing 767, Boeing 777, and Boeing 787 airliners decorated with Pokémon paint schemes as part of a series called Pokémon Jet. The majority of Pokémon featured on each plane were from the generation that was the newest at the time of its introduction. Progressively, more Pokémon aircraft were added throughout the years. The last aircraft was added in 2011 - a Boeing 777 titled the "Peace Jet", and the first to feature Generation V Pokémon, such as Reshiram. The final aircraft was re-liveried back to ANA's standard livery in 2016.

On June 21, 2021, The Pokémon Company revived the trend with Pokémon Air Adventures (Japanese: そらとぶピカチュウプロジェクト Flying Pikachu Project), an initiative to support the airline industry after the near total shutdown of air travel in Japan caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Skymark Airlines was the first airline to join the scheme and launched the first Pikachu Jet, a Boeing 737 decorated with several flying Pikachu. The program would later extend to Taiwan (China Airlines), Singapore (Scoot Airlines), South Korea (T'way Airlines), and Indonesia (Garuda Indonesia).

ANA Pokémon Jet 1998
During the winter of 1992, ANA held a contest to design one of its jets. The winner was a sixth-grade girl named Yuki Ogaki, who submitted a whale-themed design later titled the Marine Jumbo. Due to interest in this uncommon paint job, ANA painted another Boeing 747 with a Snoopy design in 1996. In 1998, this aircraft was repainted again, and this time, it was a Pokémon design. This design was also popular, and led to ANA creating several more planes with Pokémon designs. This plane's aircraft registration number is JA8965.

Featured Pokémon:
* Bulbasaur
* Clefairy
* Jigglypuff
* Mew
* Mewtwo
* Pikachu ×4
* Snorlax
* Squirtle
* Togepi
* Psyduck

Two additional jets - both Boeing 767 - were painted later in 1998 with the same design. Their registration numbers were JA8569 and JA8578.

This set of livery was retired in 2001. JA8965 retired in June 2013, JA8578 in August 2017, and JA8569 in December 2018.

ANA Pokémon Jet International
The ANA Pokémon Jet International debuted in 1999, carrying passengers from Tokyo to New York City. As its name suggests, its primary use continued to be international flights. This plane's registration is JA8962.

Featured Pokémon is the same as the three planes stated above:
*Bulbasaur
*Clefairy
*Jigglypuff
*Mew
*Mewtwo
*Pikachu ×2
*Snorlax
*Squirtle
*Togepi
*Psyduck

This plane was one of the only original ANA Pokémon jets to have the ANA logo on the tail instead of a picture of Pikachu.

The livery was retired in 2006 and the aircraft retired in 2010.

ANA Pokémon Jet 1999
Later, two additional aircraft, both Boeing 767s, were painted in the same livery, registration numbers JA8288 and JA8357.

This set of livery was retired in 2006. JA8964 retired in 2011.

ANA Pikachu Jumbo
The ANA Pikachu Jumbo, colored in a distinctive yellow, flew for the first time in May 2004 between the same airports as the ANA Pokémon Jet 1999, Osaka and Tokyo. The livery was retired on October 8, 2013 along with Ohana Jumbo (JA8956) as both jumbos retired from service, ending Boeing 747's decade-long title as series flagship.

ANA Ohana Jumbo
The ANA Ohana Jumbo took to the skies for the first time in 2004. "Ohana" means "flower" in Japanese, which is the theme of this plane.
Peace Jet
A new member of the Pokémon Jets was added in 2011, when a Boeing 777 was re-painted in Pokémon colors. ANA had originally allowed children to vote on the livery of the jet, but the tragic 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami stopped this. Instead, it was painted in colors meant to show a world filled with peace, and was dubbed the Peace Jet. This aircraft's registration is JA754A. It is the first to feature Generation V Pokémon.

The program would later extend to Greater China (China Airlines), Singapore (Scoot Airlines), South Korea (T'way Airlines), and Indonesia (Garuda Indonesia).

Original ANA aircraft

* Bulbasaur
* Clefairy
* Jigglypuff
* Squirtle
* Togepi
* Psyduck

*Bulbasaur
*Clefairy
*Jigglypuff
*Mew
*Squirtle
*Togepi

The program would later extend to Greater China (China Airlines), Singapore (Scoot Airlines), South Korea (T'way Airlines), and Indonesia (Garuda Indonesia).

* Bulbasaur
* Clefairy
* Jigglypuff
* Mew
* Squirtle
* Togepi
* Psyduck

Two additional jets - both Boeing 767 - were painted later in 1998 with the same design. Their registration numbers were JA8569 and JA8578.

This set of livery was retired in 2001. JA8965 retired in June 2013, JA8578 in August 2017, and JA8569 in December 2018.
*Squirtle
*Togepi
*Psyduck

This plane was one of the only original ANA Pokémon jets to have the ANA logo on the tail instead of a picture of Pikachu.

The livery was retired in 2006 and the aircraft retired in 2010.

==Blurb==
<!--http://www.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-episodes/15_16-explorers-of-the-heros-ruin/-->
<i>Our heroes have been invited by Professor Juniper’s father, Professor Cedric Juniper, to join him as he explores a ruin said to be the site of a meeting between an ancient Hero and the Legendary Pokémon Zekrom.

When they arrive at the ruin, Cedric warns our heroes that it may be filled with traps, and he’s absolutely right! A huge boulder rolling down a narrow passageway threatens to mow them down, but Pansage uses Dig and our heroes escape to safety. Then they encounter two bridges spanning a deep gorge, and assume one of them is a trap—but it turns out both bridges are fraught with danger! Axew manages to find another way around the chasm, and our heroes move on.

Next, they encounter three cave entrances, each painted to look like a Pokémon: Darumaka, Krokorok, and Golett. They try the Darumaka cave first, then the Krokorok tunnel, but both are full of traps yet again. Cedric then reveals that he knew the Golett cave was the right one the whole time! He kept it to himself because he wanted the youngsters to get “the full enjoyment” out of their adventure. Ash thinks that makes Cedric super cool, but Iris is somewhat less appreciative...

The Golett cave leads to a large room shaped like a volcanic crater, where they discover a circle of huge crystals and an artifact known as the Golden Dark Stone. Cedric warns our heroes not to touch the Stone, but after they’re attacked by an angry Sigilyph and a group of Cofagrigus, he reveals that he grabbed it when they weren’t looking!

When all seems lost, Cedric reminds them of the Legend of the Hero: “Zekrom lent its power to the Hero as soon as his heart became one with the Pokémon.” Ash and his friends think back on all the wonderful times they’ve shared with their Pokémon, and that seems to be enough to satisfy the ruin’s guardians, as Sigilyph and Cofagrigus stop attacking our heroes and rescue them instead.

Although Iris is annoyed at the dangers their adventure presented, Ash and Cilan are ecstatic about all the fun they had. They thank Cedric and bid their new friend goodbye to continue their journey. But before they get very far, they come face to face with a menacing Krokorok in sunglasses... </i>

Plot
Cedric Juniper stumbles out of the Chargestone Cave and collapses. Professor Juniper recognizes him as her father. Inside of the base camp tent, Cedric Juniper eats a meal and is feeling a lot better after collapsing. Professor Juniper explains to Ash and ashfr that Cedric does research on Zekrom and Reshiram. Cedric explains that he may have found the Hero's Ruin, the location where the Hero for the hero's legend and Zekrom communicated, but he got lost inside Chargestone Cave while searching. Ash asks Cedric if they can go with him to look for the ruins. Cedric says no which shocks everyone, but he finishes his statement by saying that no reason he should say no. Everyone finds out that Cedric tends to get interrupted in the middle of his sentence but does not get upset easily. Ash and his friends put the two statements together and realize that he is saying that they can go with him to the ruins.

Everyone heads off through Chargestone Cave, through the forest, up a rock wall, and later that night camp out in the forest. Ash asks Cedric about the hero's legend. Cedric explains that when the hero turns darkness into light, and links his heart with Pokémon, Zekrom will appear to him its power. Everyone enters the ruins while Cedric explains that they must be careful inside because there are traps all over the ruins to deal with intruders. They reach a Venipede statue, and Cilan approaches it. Cedric says that turning the statue to the left should not be done, but Cilan turns it to the left before Cedric could finish saying that he shouldn't. The wall opens up, and a huge boulder rolls towards them, making the group run for their lives. Cilan uses Dig to make a hole for everyone to jump in and avoid the boulder with. Iris is upset at Cedric for not finishing his statement in time. After passing through the newly opened pathway, they see two suspension bridges. Cedric tells them not to cross the bridge on the right, so Ash and Cilan try to cross the bridge on the left. Cedric finishes his statement and says that the bridge on the left should not be crossed either. Ash and Cilan almost fall in but made it back in time. Cedric explains to them that they should not jump to conclusions. Iris is again not pleased that Cedric didn't finish his statement in time again. She points out that there is a separate pathway and they take that instead.

They arrive at three caves, and Cedric explains that only one pathway is the right way. They decide to take the Darumaka pathway first, but a fire appears. Cilan uses Mud Bomb to put out the fire so that they can escape the Darumaka path. They decide to take the Krokorok pathway next. The walls begin to close in on them, and Iris has Iris hold the walls back so they could escape that pathway. Iris recalls Excadrill to his Poké Ball just before the walls close in on him. Cedric tells them that he knew the remaining pathway was correct all along, but he wanted to set off all traps to enjoy the adventure as much as possible. Iris then says that she doesn't know if this adventure can be called an enjoyment. Everyone enters the Golett pathway, and finds several coffins. They notice that all of them are empty and continue on. One of the coffins open indicating that something is watching them. After passing through the revolving door, they find a large area in the shape of a volcano crater. In the center there are large glowing pillars with the "Golden Dark Stone" inside of the circle that they form. Ash tries to grab the stone, but Cedric pulls him back saying that it sets off a dangerous trap. Ash imagines that they are crushed and that he would become a ghost. A Sigilyph appears and attacks everyone with Psybeam. Ash scans Sigilyph with his Pokédex. Pikachu uses Thunderbolt which misses, Sigilyph then uses Mirror Move which hits Ash and his friends. Sigilyph puts Pikachu to sleep with Hypnosis. Everyone runs away and back to the coffins they passed by before and hides inside of them to wait for Sigilyph to go away.

Once the coast is clear, Ash, Cilan, and Cedric come out of the coffins but notice that Iris has not done so yet. They say to Iris that she can come out now, but the coffin she is in is actually a Cofagrigus. Ash scans Cofagrigus with his Pokédex. Cofagrigus uses Telekinesis to stop Ash and Pikachu in their tracks. Pansage uses Dig and Solar Beam to attack Cofagrigus and to free Iris. Iris and Axew are freed and are shown to be wrapped like mummies. Everyone escapes through another pathway to a room which is also surrounded by coffins. These coffins were also Cofagrigus which appear and scare them. Everyone continues on the same pathway, but the Sigilyph from before appears and begins to attack them. Cedric reveals to everyone during the chase that he actually grabbed the Golden Dark Stone. He offers to give it back to Sigilyph, but it continues to attack them. Cofagrigus appear and use Telekinesis to send them through another pathway and into some water.

Cedric explains to everyone that the underground area is where the intruders are locked into, and that it is where the hero from the legend communicated with Zekrom. Cedric takes the stone and shows them the mural that is hidden on the wall with it, and explains that it says that the hero met Zekrom underground, and that their combined power helped him escape. Everyone searches and finds the exit which leads back to the area with the glowing pillars. Cedric returns the golden stone back to where it belongs, and Cofagrigus sends them through the opening in the ceiling with Telekinesis. Everyone screams that they love Pokémon and remember all of their great memories they had with various Pokémon in the Unova region. Ash recalls his memories with Tepig, Pidove, Darumaka, Trubbish, Scraggy, Sewaddle, Venipede, Oshawott, Cottonee, Roggenrola, Archeops, Gothitelle, Boldore, and Snivy. Cilan recalls his memories with Cilan and Pansage. Iris recalls her memories with Druddigon, Excadrill, Deino, and Iris. Cofagrigus uses Telekinesis to slow them down and to safely bring them back to the ground. They were successfully able to link their hearts with that of the Pokémon. Cedric points out to them that the route that took forms a silhouette of a Zekrom.

Once everyone heads back outside, everyone but Iris agrees that the adventure was enjoyable. Cedric tells them that he plans on exploring the ruins more and heads off. A Krokorok with sunglasses then appears in front of Ash and his friends.
* Due to the use of flashbacks, every Pokémon belonging to the three main protagonists that have appeared during Pokémon the Series: Black & White made an appearance in this episode, except for Ash's Palpitoad.
Pokémon the Series: XY
Chespin debuted in Mega-Mega Meowth Madness!, where Ash and ashfr found it hiding behind a plant and eating macarons. Clemont tried to befriend it, only for Chespin to stab his hand with its spikes and run off with several macarons in its hands. Later, it witnessed Professor Sycamore being captured by TRT and helped Ash and Clemont track the kidnappers by following a trail of macaron pieces left by Clemont. Once there, Chespin attempted to steal the macarons Jessie left lying around, only to fail and alert Team Rocket to Ash and Clemont's presence.

After Team Rocket unleashed their Mega Mega Meowth, Chespin was saved from being crushed by the mecha by Clemont, which caused the two to bond a little. Chespin helped Clemont stop the rampaging machine by pulling out its plug, only for Team Rocket to use an alternate power source to continue fighting. Having no choice, Clemont and Chespin battled the mecha, only for all of Chespin's attacks to fail. Even when teamed up with Pikachu, the mecha suffered no damage. However, Blaziken Mask's Blaziken saved the day by weakening the machine with Flamethrower, allowing Chespin and Pikachu to finish it off and send Team Rocket blasting off.

Later, Chespin revealed that it wanted to join Clemont's team as it watched him leave Professor Sycamore's lab. Clemont accepted Chespin's request and was given Chespin's Poké Ball to recall it.

In An Appetite for Battle!, after stealing some of Serena's macarons, Clemont became concerned with how Chespin was out of shape from eating so much. To work off some of the weight, he had Chespin battle Froakie and Dedenne, but it lost to both due to its weight. Later that night, Clemont made a machine to help Chespin out, but Chespin walked off into the woods after smelling some food being cooked. Chespin wandered into Carrie's house and was taken in for the night. Much to its delight, there was plenty of food for it to eat. Later that day, it had a battle with Wylie's Delphox. Chespin barely avoided Will-O-Wisp and was about to be hit by Flamethrower, but Clemont stepped in and blocked the attack. Clemont and Chespin then teamed up to battle Delphox, using its rounded shape to roll and dodge attacks until it lost weight. This allowed Chespin to move much more quickly and hit it with a Tackle and Vine Whip. However, Chespin was hit by a powerful Flamethrower, which led to the activation of its Ability, Overgrow. Chespin then hit Delphox with one more powerful Vine Whip. It was then about to be hit by Delphox's Mystical Fire, but the battle was stopped due to Wylie experiencing pains in his waist.

In Forging Forest Friendships!, Chespin was used in a Double Battle with Clemont against Hawlucha and Froakie. Due to an argument between Froakie and Hawlucha, Clemont's Pokémon had the upper hand, but Froakie used its speed to trick Chespin's Pin Missile into hitting Bunnelby, knocking it out. After this, Froakie and Hawlucha started to fight, ending the battle. Later, it was shown that Chespin had eaten all of Serena's Poké Puffs when she tried to give them out.

In Battling Into the Hall of Fame!, Chespin was used in a Pokémon battle along with Pikachu and Serena against Shauna's Bulbasaur, Tierno's Squirtle, and Trevor's Charmander. Chespin and the others were at a disadvantage due to their opponents' great teamwork. When Shauna's Bulbasaur fired a Solar Beam at Pikachu, Chespin used its Vine Whip to tilt Pikachu up, giving Pikachu the opportunity to defeat Charmander. Chespin then used Vine Whip to counter Squirtle's Rapid Spin, while Pikachu defeated a defenseless Bulbasaur. Eventually Pikachu also defeated Squirtle giving Ash, Serena, and Clemont the win.

In Pathways to Performance Partnering!, after eating all of the Poké Puffs, Chespin had a continuous quarrel with Serena's Pancham. During their quarrel, they accidentally disturbed Nini training with her Smoochum and Farfetch'd for her upcoming Pokémon Showcase. Later, a disguised Team Rocket then appeared and managed to steal Pancham, Chespin, Fennekin, Smoochum and Farfetch'd. While trapped inside of a ball, it and Pancham again quarreled causing them to escape from the ball. However, Team Rocket quickly found them again and managed to injure Fennekin, Smoochum and Farfetch'd forcing Chespin and Pancham to work together. Eventually they got reunited with their Trainers and together Chespin and Pancham defeated Team Rocket. Although it seemed the two finally understood each other, Chespin and Pancham quickly began to quarrel again after the battle.

In Adventures in Running Errands!, the group arrived at a Pokémon Center to shelter from the rain. A leak in the roof, however, caused the center's machinery to short-circuit. While Clemont was fixing the machine, he had Chespin and Bunnelby run an errand to buy a machine part. Chespin was given a purse with a letter on which the part's name was written. While heading towards the shop, a wild Fearow snatched the purse from the duo. The two eventually managed to get the purse back and escape from the Fearow. While continuing their errand, Chespin and Bunnelby got attacked by Team Rocket. They managed to hold their own against James and Jessie. When Gourgeist attacked with Shadow Ball, Fletchinder arrived and blocked the attack with Steel Wing, followed by Ash and Noibat. Despite being told to stand back, Chespin and Bunnelby continued to fight Team Rocket themselves and managed to blast them off. Chespin and Bunnelby then finished their errand, giving Clemont the last part to fix the Pokémon Center's main system.

In A Watershed Moment!, Chespin walked across a barren land along with Clemont trying to keep the tired Gym Leader from collapsing before they came across Robon. As Chespin along with the others observed the robot planting seeds, they got surprised by a Seed Bomb attack coming from an angry Chesnaught looming from large a rock before suddenly attacking them. Chespin attempted to go against its fully evolved form, but backed down just as quickly as the Chesnaught began chasing it around. After managing to get away, Chespin pointed out a rundown building to the group that once belonged to Chapman. After assessing the situation, the others and Chespin decided to help out Robon and also managed to gain the trust of Chesnaught as well. While Clemont's Luxray used his X-Ray vision along with Ash's Noibat using animal echolocation to locate a water source, Chespin used Vine Whip to help search underground too, also encouraging Chesnaught to mimic with its own Vine Whip. After a while, Chespin managed to find the source only to be blocked by a large rock. As everyone tried to remove it, Team Rocket appeared captured them. After Chesnaught managed to break the remote control thus freeing everyone, Chespin combined its Pin Missile along with the other Pokémon's attacks to send Team Rocket blasting off. After Robon was fixed and successfully destroyed the rock to let the water flow, Chespin bade farewell to Chesnaught as they headed out.

Clemont sent out Chespin and Bunnelby to fight Team Flare in Coming Apart at the Dreams!. They joined the battle against Bryony's Liepard and Aliana's Druddigon. The two of them, alongside Luxray and Clemont, defeated the Team Flare Scientists' Pokémon, allowing Clembot to subdue them and for the team to infiltrate the Lumiose Gym. In the following episode, Chespin battled with Xerosic's Crobat and Malamar, which resulted in victory and allowed Clembot to evict Xerosic from the Gym. Chespin was used again in Forming a More Perfect Union!, where it joined the fight against the Giant Rock. In the next episode, Chespin and the rest of Clemont's Pokémon received medals from Professor Sycamore for their heroic efforts against Team Flare.

In Facing the Needs of the Many!, Chespin was sent out to battle Xerosic again, alongside Ash's Greninja. After countering Crobat's Air Slash with Pin Missile, it dodged Malamar's Signal Beam by having Greninja hurl it at their opponents, allowing it to hit Crobat with an extra powerful Tackle. After Greninja defeated Crobat, Xerosic recalled his Malamar and tried to escape, but was caught by Clemont's Aipom Arm.

Pokémon Journeys: The Series
Chespin appeared in The Future is Now, Thanks to Strategy!, where it was introduced to Ash's new Pokémon.

Personality and characteristics
Chespin is gluttonous and often goes after food, especially its favorite macarons. As a result, Chespin would keep the food for itself and refuse to give it back. When caught in the act, it is unrepentant, unless coaxed. Sometimes, it would eat so much food that it would become heavy, as evidenced in An Appetite for Battle!. Its gluttony is usually the source of conflict between it and Serena's Pancham, another trait it shares with Oshawott (who usually ends up butting heads with Ash's Pignite).

Despite its gluttonous traits, it is also very courageous, going after TRT and respecting Clemont after he saved it from getting run over by their mecha. It is also shown to be very determined when it repeatedly tries hitting Team Rocket's mecha despite its efforts being met with failure. Chespin tends to be the more vocal of the group and usually displays a very happy-go-lucky attitude. In A PokéVision of Things to Come!, Chespin was shown to enjoy the spotlight and is very confident on camera, unlike its Trainer. First shown in Battles in the Sky!, Chespin has occasionally came out of its Poké Ball for various reasons, such as battling, meeting new Pokémon or wanting to do something. In Dreaming a Performer's Dream! and Pathways to Performance Partnering!, Chespin has shown an interest in performing.

First shown in Pathways to Performance Partnering! and later A Race for Home!, Chespin developed a rivalry with Serena's Pancham and would later get into several quarrels with him. Though in Love Strikes! Eevee, Yikes!, it is shown that Chespin does get along with Pancham most of the time. Another time is when Chespin gave up its food willingly to Pancham in Master Class Choices! to congratulate him.

Chespin also shows an interest in being friends with Serena's Eevee, but its outgoing, spontaneous personality clashes with Eevee's timidness, causing her to flee behind Serena or Clemont, and leaving Chespin dejected. Chespin's approach is no longer rejected upon Eevee's evolution into Sylveon, making Chespin overjoyed when she accepted its encouragement for the Showcase.
When Ash and Goh hear that a small town in Johto has been plunged into perpetual darkness, they’re off to investigate…and it’s true! For about a week, it’s been nighttime all the time. But a girl named Tiara describes some Pokémon she saw when it all started: Unown. They heard Tiara yearning for darkness so she could see her beloved Cleffa, who she believes is now a star in the sky. Along with Cynthia, Ash and Goh battle the Unown, and Tiara realizes her wish was selfish. Daylight returns, and the Unown show Tiara a happy illusion of Cleffa to help her say goodbye to her departed friend.

Plot
In the Johto region, a day in a small town suddenly turns into a night. Later in Kanto, Professor Cerise, Ren, and Chrysa tell about this to Ash and Goh, mentioning how the perpetual night is messing up the townspeople's daily rhythms. Ash and Goh decide to investigate and depart immediately.

Ash and Goh later arrive at the small town, where, despite it being morning, they find themselves in the middle of a nightly setting. An old man greets them and points out how the darkness, which has been going on for a week now, is leaving people tired and causing flowers to wilt. He also points at a Murkrow on a nearby tree and mentions how people dislike its kind due to the belief that seeing one in nighttime will bring bad luck. Goh feels sorry for Murkrow and asks it if it wants to come with him. List of Goh's Pokémon agrees to this, so Goh tosses a Poké Ball at it and Caught the category. The old man, feeling tired, heads back home with his Sudowoodo. After witnessing a shooting star, Ash and Goh are approached by a little girl who introduces herself as Tiara and asks them if they're looking at the stars, too. She tells them that she is looking at the stars to find Cleffa, who, according to her, had become a star. Tiara's mother then approaches them and tells her daughter it's time to go home, but, at Tiara's request, agrees to let her watch the stars for a bit longer.

While Tiara watches the starry sky, her mother explains to Ash and Goh that Tiara and Cleffa used to be good friends, until they had to say farewell to it several days ago. She had told the upset Tiara that Cleffa had become a star, and Tiara has been stargazing ever since. She also mentions that Tiara had seen a strange Pokémon when the endless night had started, although she suspects it to be just a coincidence. When Tiara prepares to head home, Goh asks her to describe the strange Pokémon she saw. She describes it as being small and black, having a big eye, and being shaped like a stick. Later, when Ash and Goh go to eat lunch at a restaurant, Goh looks through his Rotom Phone to find the Pokémon that Tiara described, and suddenly finds something and runs off, hurrying Ash and Pikachu to follow him.

Goh leads Ash to an archeology museum, where he plans to look into something. When they walk past a room filled with people, Pikachu suddenly catches a familiar scent, running into the room and jumping into the arms of Cynthia, who immediately recognizes him. Ash and Goh enter the room as well, and Cynthia greets Ash, telling him how she's heard of him having entered the World Coronation Series. Ash promises to one day get into the Masters Eight as well, and Cynthia says she's looking forward to it. Goh is excited at being in the presence of the Sinnoh League Champion and introduces himself before asking what Cynthia is doing here. Cynthia explains that despite her Champion title, her forte is archeology, dedicating her time to researching history, myths, and rare Pokémon, as well as traveling around the world to study ruins, which is what had led her here. This leads Goh back to why he had come to the museum in the first place, pointing at a picture of the Pokémon that matches Tiara's description; Unown, which are found near ruins and exhibit mysterious powers when in a group. Ash and Goh share Tiara's story with Cynthia, who deduces that it's likely that a group of Unown had started the endless night based on Tiara's wish. She then requests to get to meet this girl.

Later, Ash, Goh, and Cynthia meet Tiara and her mother, who have come back to the town's park to look at the stars. Cynthia asks if they can join her in doing so, showing that she bought some doughnuts for them to eat. While Ash, Goh, Cynthia, and Tiara sit down to eat the doughnuts, Goh shows Tiara a picture of Unown, which she affirms is the Pokémon she saw. She describes how she had wished she could watch the stars forever, and a group of Unown had appeared and started the endless night to make her wish come true.

Ash and Goh ask Tiara if she knows where the Unown went since the endless night is causing people trouble and they're looking for a way to fix it. Tiara, however, angrily declares that she wants to keep watching the stars and refuses to let the dawn come. In response to her strong emotions, the Unown suddenly appear and surround her in a dark cloud of mist, which pushes Ash, Goh, and Cynthia back. From the mist emerges an illusionary Pikachu, which responds to Thunderbolt and Iron Tail attacks from Ash's Pikachu with the same moves of equal power. Goh sends out his Goh, which the Unown respond to by creating an illusion of a Cinderace to oppose it. Like with Pikachu, Cinderace finds its moves evenly matched by its illusionary counterpart. Cynthia steps in and sends out her Cynthia, which the Unown predictably replicate. Once again, the copy's move is equal in power with the real Pokémon's attack, so Cynthia has Garchomp use Sandstorm, which the illusionary Garchomp copies. This hides Cynthia's Garchomp from her copy's gaze and allows her to take to the sky, from where she attacks the Unown and the illusions with Scale Shot, causing the Unown to disappear and the illusions to disperse.

Tiara, now having calmed down, apologizes for having tried to make the night last forever. Goh asks Cynthia why the Unown didn't create an illusion of Cleffa, since seeing it again was Tiara's biggest wish. Cynthia figures that Tiara simply needed some time to accept parting with Cleffa. Tiara thinks that since Cleffa became a star, it must have a lot of friends now up in the sky, so she asks it to not worry about her, although she does wish to see it one more time. The Unown reappear and show Tiara memories of her times with Cleffa, before creating an illusion of Cleffa. Tiara hugs Cleffa and assures her that she'll be fine. The illusion vanishes, along with the endless night, restoring the town's daylight. Ash and Goh tell Tiara that she and Cleffa are always friends, no matter how much apart they are, and Cynthia assures her that the stars are always shining, even when they can't be seen. The Unown have vanished again, and Cynthia remarks that there's still a lot about them that's not known.
