'''Waterfall Colosseum''' (Japanese: '''ウォーターコロシアム''' ''Water Colosseum'') is the third Colosseum in [[Pokémon Battle Revolution]]. The battle theme is Team Battles. The Colosseum leader is [[Colosseum Leader]] [[Marina (PBR)|Marina]]. Like most other Colosseums, there are 7 battles in all.

Waterfall Colosseum is on the far side of the island from [[Pokétopia]]. It is a beautiful Colosseum surrounded by mountains, trees, the sea, and waterfalls.

The battle theme, Team Battle makes you pick five out of six of your party members, and individually faces them off in elimination one-on-one fights against the opponent's 5 Pokémon. You are not allowed to switch Pokémon; knocking out the opponents Pokémon gets you a star and an O appears next to your Pokémon. If the opponent's Pokémon beats you, they get a star and an O, and your Pokémon gets an X. Then the second Pokémon you picked goes up against the opponents second Pokémon. The minimum amount of battles is 3; the first [[Trainer]] to get 3 victories/stars (Out of five possible battles) wins.

After you beat the game, you may select the level 50 All rule. You use two Pokémon for each round in a double battle. The maximum amount of battles and the minimum amount of battles are both 3. Other rules remain the same.

Beating Waterfall Colosseum for the first time in Level 30 Open mode gets you [[Pikachu (Pokémon)|Pikachu]] facepaint, a custom battle pass with Waterfall Colosseum in the background, and 350 [[Poké Coupons]]. It also unlocks 10 items of gear in the shop, two new Rental Passes at [[Gateway Colosseum]], and the next two Colosseums, [[Neon Colosseum]] and [[Crystal Colosseum]]. Beating Waterfall Colosseum for the first time in Level 50 All mode unlocks 23 pieces of gear in the shop. Also, when the player beats Marina for the first time in Level 50 All mode, they obtain her Kyogre outfit. There is a small chance of Marina wearing a [[alternate color|shiny]] outfit when you battle her in Level 50 All mode. If the player beats her while she is wearing a shiny Kyogre outfit, they will obtain a shiny Kyogre outfit of their own.

The default mode of battle here is Single Battle. An option to change this to Double Battle is made available after beating Rank 1 for the first time.

The Pokémon and Trainers are not set, except during the first time you battle there, at Rank 1 Level 30 Open, and the first time you battle using the Level 50 All mode, Rank 1 Level 50 All. The Trainers, and the Pokémon they have, go as the following during Level 30 Open, Rank 1:

The '''Visual round''' is the first part of the [[Super Contest]] in {{g|Diamond and Pearl}}. The contestants will have to dress up their Pokémon with [[Accessories]] according to the theme in 60 seconds. After the time limit is up, they will be presented to the audience to be rated. An advantage is to know what Accessory fits the theme and what doesn't.Another advantage is the use of [[Poffins]] to increase the Pokémon's appearance depending on what Contest it is in. She first appeared in volume three, when she was saved by {{Special|Red}} from a rampaging wild {{p|Dratini}}.

When Red goes missing, {{Special|Blue}} sends Yellow out to find him, and has her disguise herself as a boy. Most of the characters did not learn her real gender until the end of the G/S/C saga. Yellow's straw hat hides her ponytail as well as containing the [[Rainbow Wing]] and [[Silver Wing]].

Yellow's first Pokémon is a {{p|Rattata}} that Red caught for her. Her starter Pokémon is [[Pika|Red's Pikachu]] which travels with her when she searches for Red. She later obtained her own Pikachu, Chu Chu, which made a {{p|Pichu}} egg with [[Pika|Red's Pikachu]] at the Johto [[Pokémon daycare]].

The '''Wayward Cave''' (Japanese: '''まよいのどうくつ''' ''Lost Cave'') is a two-story cave in Sinnoh. {{m|Flash}} and {{m|Rock Smash}} are needed to navigate it, but the cave itself is optional. There is a side quest inside the cave where the player can join a trainer named [[Mira]] and lead her out of the cave. That task is more difficult than it sounds, because most of the cave looks similar to other parts of the cave. It is located on [[Route 206]], beneath Cycling Road. There is also an entrance directly under the road that cannot be seen. This secret area is the only place where wild {{p|Gible}} can be found, much like the upper area of [[Meteor Falls]] in [[Hoenn]], where {{p|Bagon}} was found. {{m|Strength}} is required to navigate this area.

The hidden entrance is southwest of the main cave entrance, and is hidden ''underneath'' the cycling path.

In the hidden area, {{TM|26|Earthquake}}, a [[Grip Claw]], a [[Revive]], and an [[Ether#Elixir|Elixir]] can be found.

The '''weather trio''' is, for lack of a better defining characteristic of the three, the name of the [[legendary trio]] made up of {{p|Groudon}}, {{p|Kyogre}}, and {{p|Rayquaza}}. They are officially referred to as the '''Super-ancient Pokémon''' (Japanese: '''超古代ポケモン''' ''Chōkodai Pokémon''), although the Japanese anime has applied this term to [[Fossil]] Pokémon as well.

Although several non-legendary Pokémon, notably {{p|Tyranitar}} and {{p|Abomasnow}}, have [[abilities]] that can alter the [[weather conditions]], and the {{p|Golduck}} family is capable of having an ability that can stop them altogether, Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza's abilities were the first sight of these {{cat|Abilities with effects on weather conditions|weather-changing ones}} in the games. This makes them the only legendary trio to not share one universal ability.

Unlike Pokémon with moves like {{m|Sunny Day}} and {{m|Rain Dance}}, where the weather changes to another for only five turns, the abilities of the legendary trio cause their weather effect for the remainder of the battle, or until the weather is changed again in some way. Rayquaza's, however, only lasts as long as it remains active, and removes the battle effects of any weather on the field, leaving it to just be a pretty-looking environmental effect.

They do not appear to have a [[trio master|master]], though Rayquaza seems to serve as the leader of the three internally, doing the same in [[Pokémon Emerald]] that {{p|Lugia}} does in [[The Power of One]].

Strangely, this is the only legendary trio whose members do not all have the same [[base stat]] total; Groudon and Kyogre share a total of 670, while Rayquaza's is 680.

'''Weather conditions''' are a feature that was implemented into the Pokémon games in [[Generation II]], and expanded upon in Generations [[Generation III|III]] and [[Generation IV|IV]]. During these games, weather depended upon where a battle took place, or even whether a Pokémon had used a specific [[move]] or [[ability]]. Only one weather condition may be active at a time, and if a move or ability changes the current state of the weather, the previous condition is canceled.

In the second generation, when the first conditions were introduced, some moves came to have an advantage with them, notably, {{m|SolarBeam}} and {{m|Thunder}}, both of which would be nearly deadly with the right conditions.

===Generation II===
In the second-generation games, three [[move]]s were introduced that could change the weather during a battle to alter the playing field slightly. These moves were {{m|Sunny Day}}, which created five turns worth of intense sunlight and allowed a Pokémon to attack with {{m|SolarBeam}} without waiting a turn; {{m|Rain Dance}}, which gave five turns of heavy rain and increased {{m|Thunder}}'s accuracy to 100%; and {{m|Sandstorm}}, which made a wild sandstorm that lasted for the same amount of turns. These three moves could change the course of a battle, with intense sun and heavy rain powering up {{t|Fire}}- and {{type2|Water}} moves, and powering down the other, respectively, and a sandstorm slightly damaging any Pokémon not of the {{t|Rock}}-, {{t|Ground}}-, or {{type2|Steel}}s.

===Generation III===
In the third generation, the [[version mascot|title Pokémon]] of the three Hoenn-based versions had weather-related abilities. {{p|Groudon}}'s ability allowed for intense sunlight to fill the arena until the battle ended, or another weather effect took its place. Likewise, its counterpart {{p|Kyogre}}'s ability made heavy rain that lasted until the end of the battle or until another weather effect superseded it. Emerald Version's mascot, however, had a different way of affecting the playing field. While {{p|Rayquaza}} is battling, all effects of the weather are essentially negated, though the actual sunlight/rain/sandstorm/hail remains going. {{p|Psyduck}} and {{p|Golduck}} may also have a similar ability.

Another Pokémon, one which was not available in Ruby or Sapphire without trading, also had a weather-based ability. {{p|Tyranitar}}, once fully evolved from a {{p|Larvitar}} captured in FireRed or LeafGreen, has the ability {{a|Sand Stream}}, which causes a sandstorm that lasts until the end of the battle or until another weather-changing move is made. This makes it almost useless for a Tyranitar to have the move {{m|Sandstorm}} itself, as the sandstorm is automatically activated as it comes into battle.

Ruby and Sapphire also debuted another weather-changing move, {{m|Hail}}, which, like {{m|Sunny Day}}, {{m|Rain Dance}}, and {{m|Sandstorm}} before it, changes the weather for five turns, this time to an icy hailstorm. However, this move, and weather effect, have more in common with Sandstorm than with the other two. For the five turns that it's hailing, all Pokémon who are not {{type2|Ice}} are damaged.

Also in Generation III, one of the {{cat|Generation III Pokémon|135 Pokémon released}} was a quirky little {{type2|Normal}} called '''Castform'''. When in a battle where no weather effects are present, Castform is quite unremarkable. However, when any of the effects besides a sandstorm or Shadow Sky are applied, Castform's type and shape change to match the weather, due to its ability, {{a|Forecast}}. Also, when it is leveled up, it learns a move called {{m|Weather Ball}}, which also changes type with the weather, doubling its power when any weather was in effect. Unlike Forecast, Weather Ball's type differs even in a sandstorm, becoming a {{type2|Rock}} move, as well as in Shadow Sky, becoming a {{type2|???}} move. However, it should be noted that when battling against {{p|Rayquaza}}, {{p|Psyduck}}, and {{p|Golduck}}, due to their ability to negate all weather effects, Castform is incapable of changing forms and incapable of having a different-typed Weather Ball.

===Generation IV===
Within the fourth generation, the weather effects seem to be going strong. At one point in [[Sinnoh]], it is actually possible to travel on a [[Route 217|route covered in snow]]. Also in Generation IV, a {{a2|Snow Warning|new ability}} was released that serves much like {{a|Drought}}, {{a|Drizzle}}, and {{a|Sand Stream}}, excepting the fact that it permanently activates a hailstorm instead of sunlight, rain, or sandstorm.

Several [[held item]]s were also introduced that extend the length of a certain weather condition when its activating move was used by the holder by three turns.

Another new weather condition introduced in Generation IV was the fog condition. Instead of having a move to activate it, however, there was a move introduced to ''clear'' it.

More interesting things introduced within Generation IV were other conditions that had nothing to do with the weather, but behaved similarly to the weather-activating moves. Like the weather conditions, these moves would affect all Pokémon on the field for five turns, and in various ways. For example, {{m2|Gravity|one move}} would rid {{a2|Levitate|Levitating}} Pokémon of their powers, and force both them and {{type2|Flying}}s to take damage from {{type2|Ground}} moves, as well as disabling moves like {{m|Fly}} and {{m|Bounce}}, whereas another, {{m|Magnet Rise}}, makes the user invulnerable to {{type2|Ground}} moves, again for five turns. Also, {{m|Trick Room}} alters the dimensions for five turns, making slower Pokémon attack first; and {{m|Tailwind}} increases the Speed of the user's team for five turns.

Wings Alexander lives in the [[Whirl Islands]], where he runs an airport. It was through that airport he met [[Ash Ketchum|Ash]] and his friends. They had missed the ferry to the mainland, and Wings offered to fly them in his plane.

While helping Wings clean out his hangar, which also served as a home for his Pokémon, the kids learned that he used to be a Pokémon Trainer. His strongest Pokémon was a {{p|Hoothoot}}, which defeated many opponents including a {{p|Machoke}} and {{p|Onix}}. Years later, it evolved into a {{p|Noctowl}}. It now serves as Wings's 'co-pilot,' always sitting in the cockpit while Wings is flying.

When Wings was flying the kids to [[Olivine City]], a severe thunderstorm hit, causing the old plane to fall apart. Thanks to Ash, [[Misty]], [[Brock]] and their Pokémon, as well as Wings's Noctowl, the plane made it successfully to Olivine City.
