This article needs to be update to include the two newer pokemon revealed.
Edit: Adding the revealing of two new pokemon; Miruhoggu (Minezumi's evoution) and Shikijika. Paperstraw
Edit 2: Added the new Pika-clone from the Bus Demo, Emonga, plus Gigaiasu and Shikijika's type.--A Tell-Tale Heart 02:11, 7 August 2010 (UTC)
Edit 3: Swana and Kurumiru need to be added to the list. Moguryuu's type needs to be changed to ground. And I think it's safe to say Basurao will be atleast part water.--Paperstraw 16:17, 8 August 2010 (UTC)
* I'd add that Victini's details have been revealed as well in the hopes that someone will get off their *** and write the article, but there's no point requesting an update on this page or on any other pages for that matter. The people with editing privileges will update whenever the crap they feel like it (which will probably be a month after the games are released) and not a minute sooner. Apparently the people in charge of the definitive source of Pokémon knowledge on the web have more important things to do than, say, keep up with current events or keep the wiki up to date. You know, trivial things like that.--Bad Wolf 17:00, 3 August 2010 (UTC)
::Oh, I'm sorry? We're a couple of hours late on the news? Maybe even a day at most, but we are keeping up with the news, after all, WE'RE the ones writing the news articles most of the time.
I'm sorry Jello, but I'll have to support Bad Wolf on this topic. Firstly this is an encyclopedia, something that is supposed to provide the most up-to-date information on its contents as fast as it's released, while this is not humanly possible all of the time, articles should be updated/culled atleast once per week, especially with news of a new game constantly trickling in.

You use the creation of news articles as an excuse, but there hasn't even been an average of 1 article/day, so that is not a satisfactory response in my opinion. There are currently 19 administrators on Bulbapedia, and one of them even stopped in to chastise some criticism, instead of actually editting the main article being criticized, which would have probably taken considerably less time to do, so I think it should be possible to maintain a healthy social life, while updating a couple dozen articles in a week.--Paperstraw 20:37, 4 August 2010 (UTC)
:I apologize if I offended anyone here, I think I took this a little too personally, hence my comment may not have been appropriate. Speaking for myself here, I do try my hardest to do what I can here, but I'm only one person and it does get stressful. Please try to remember that we put up things that are confirmed, and are wary about putting up rumored information, so we'll always be late, but we can at least be right about it. If you think something should be updated and are not getting any response, the fastest thing would to contact an active staff member on their talk page and bring up the issue there. Thanks. <span style="color:red">—<small>♥</small></span> <b><span style="color:orange;">Jello</span><span style="color:#3FA9D0;">talk</span></b> 20:02, 8 August 2010 (UTC)

Hey- just wanted to ask something here... First of all, on the page, we listed Mamanbou as Water-Type due to the fact that it is (99% likely) an evolution of Luvdisc. Additionally, rather then keeping Musharna in "later-reveals-on-the-bottom order", we placed Musharna right after Munna, as they are related by evolution. Considering all that... Shouldn't we, similarly, place Darumakka right before Hihidaruma and state it as Fire-Type? ~m190049~talk 19:57, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
:Actually, Mamanbou is listed as a Water-type because it is a fish, not because it might be an evolution of Luvdisc. In fact, given that there are only Gen V Pokémon pre-national dex, it's also likely that none of the Pokémon currently revealed have cross generation evolutions. Until it is 100% confirmed, there will be no mention of the supposed evolutionary relationship in the articles. Secondly, does the order really matter at the moment? They are all going to be changed when we get their dex numbers anyway. <span style="color:#2D4B98;">Werdnae</span> <small><span style="color:#009000;">(talk)</span></small> 20:25, 10 August 2010 (UTC)
::Ah- wasn't clear on that. Although the evolution thing wasn't really the point of what I was saying- we still assumed it's type, even though it's technically not 100% confirmed, which is what I was trying to get across... Though anyway; Darumakka and Hihidaruma share obvious design aspects, colors, themes, and have similar names. It's pretty obvious they're related. Fine, there doesn't need to be a mention of the relationship in their articles- I didn't even say that anyway...- though it would still make sense to place them next to each other on this page, as we did with Musharna. As for the why does it matter thing- it doesn't. It's called aesthetics- In other words, because it looks nice- it's fun. Of course they're going to be changed when we get their dex numbers, but that shouldn't be for another month or so. We shouldn't just not care or whatever in the mean time. == Romanization inconsistencies ==

I was going to put this on Rankurusu's page, but since it applies to a few other Pokémon I figured I'd say it here. I noticed that Wōguru's article is entitled Wargle even though the official romanization has not been confirmed (as far as I know, correct me if I'm wrong). However, there are other new Pokémon whose names are partly derived from English words, but they aren't romanized as such on this page or in the article titles:

* Rankurusu should be Ranculus
* Chiramii should be Chillamii
* Giaru should be Gearu
* Meguroko should be Meguroc
* Gochikuzeru should be Gothiruzeru
* Denchura should be Dentula

I know that a lot of these names are being discussed on the individual pages, but I thought I'd list them here for discussion. Either we should change all of the article names to the ones I listed, or rename Wargle to Wooguru until the official romanization is given. We can't have one article titled with an assumed romanization (no matter how likely it may be) and leave the rest as their literal transliterations; this is, after all, an encyclopedia, and consistency is important.--Bad Wolf 07:22, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
:I believe that the reason the article is at Tsutaaja for the time being is that we want to avoid using extraneous characters whenever possible in page titles. :::Actually there isn't a big difference between Tsutaaja and Tsutarja. It's called a non-rhotic r. You may have noticed that people from London or Boston tend to not pronounce the letter r when it's and the end of a word or before a consonant. Well, in Japanese the r sound can only ever come before a vowel, so when the letter r is at the end of a word or before a consonant they tend to approximate the sound with a long a, sometimes written aa. Take my name, Peter, for example. Someone from London or Boston would probably drop the r sound at the end, and likewise the Japanese approximate it as ピーター and pronounce it Piitaa. R's before consonants or at the ends of words are almost always approximated by a long a and not a ル. Drapion
I know there's certain info that can't be added as of now, but I don't see why we can't have basic appearance descriptions. Besides, Pokabu has a much more extensive Physiology section. It's up for use if someone wants to add it.

"Tsutarja is a reptilian Grass-type Pokémon. Most of its body is green in coloration, while it has a cream-colored underside. A yellow stripe runs down the length of its back and tail, and it also has yellow markings around its large eyes. Yellow, curved structures protrude from its shoulders and bend backwards. These structures resemble leaves or small wings and give Tsutarja the appearance of wearing a collar. In spite of being snake-like in appearance, it has fully-developed limbs. Its slender arms are the same green color as the rest of its body and have three fingers, while its tiny feet match its underside in coloration and have no digits whatsoever. It has large, palmate leaf with three prongs on the end of its tail.
About its National number
Yes. We know. Victini is #000 in the Isshu dex. This means nothing right now about its National number. Think of it this way: they put Victini at #000 so that you'd not know right off the bat getting it how many other Pokémon there are to find, especially given that it's gonna be an early event, like Manaphy. If you got Mew just after you got your starter in RBY, you'd know there's 151 Pokémon in Kanto. Same with Celebi in GSC, Deoxys in RSE, and so on. This is a failsafe to make Pokémon feel less like "let's see how many they added" and more like "oh, there's so many of these things, I wonder what they all are...". Sure, futile anyway, given that we'll likely have access to the games and have figured out everything by the day after it comes out... but still. An admirable solution to that huge-empty-Pokédex problem we've had since Gen I.

Tsutarja, until further notice, is staying at #494. We cannot assume anything different than it directly following Arceus, just as Chikorita followed Mew, Treecko followed Celebi, and Turtwig followed Deoxys. <span style="color:#FF0000">TTE</span>chidna 00:55, 25 July 2010 (UTC)
Head shaped like Cyndaquil's
I noticed Tsutarja's head is shaped alot like Cyndaquil's head. Would this be worth mentioning in the physiology section? After all, it is also mentioned that Piplup looks a little like Torchic and Pachirisu resembling Pikachu. Also worth mentioning its resemblance to Treecko and all grass starters so far being reptilian? --Brats817 10:10, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
:Uh... no. First of all, I don't see the resemblance. Secondly, in the two cases you cited, the resemblance is far more than superficial. Piplup and Torchic are both small bird Pokémon with ovoid heads, tiny beaks, etc. When you consider that they're the only bird-based starter Pokémon, that can make for worthwhile trivia. Pachirisu and Pikachu are obviously similar—both are electric-type, small rodent Pokémon which store electricity in their cheeks... but Tsutarja is snake-or-lizard-like, while Cyndaquil is like a shrew; their eyes are noticably different... You need a little more to go on than "their heads are vaguely similar in shape (if you squint)." AndyPKMN

Well the only reason I mentioned it is only because their heads were similar, and that was the only similarity they have and I thought it would be worth mentioning that one similarity. They don't have to be based on the same animal in order to have a similarity somewhere. (Well of course except for color, that isn't enough of a similarity) Tsutarja's head IS similar shaped to Cyndaquil's head, but only the facial features are different, apart from the nose and mouth being in a similar location on their face. If Piplup's head was differently shaped and had different facial features, it probably wouldn't have been compared to Torchic, and if Pachirisu had no cheek pouches, it probably wouldn't be compared with Pikachu. The only other similarity is that they are birds and rodents, but different species. It's like comparing Taillow to Spearow. But if Cyndaquil and Tsutarja's head shape is not enough to mention as it's their one and only similarity, would it still be enough to mention that all grass type starters so far are reptilian? (Probably best to put it in the starter Pokémon section) Oh and you forgot to sign your comment. --Brats817 21:51, 9 August 2010 (UTC)
The Pokémon's combination of snake- and lizard-like features is also similar to that of the skink, more specifically the Neoseps. Neoseps heavilly resemble snakes but have small, stubby legs. Drapion

I honsetly STRONGLY disagree with this noition. Other than the somewhat-similar color scheme, there's not TOO much in common- the face is WAY too different. I think that Tsutarja is MUCH more likely based on a somewhat-popular species known as the Vine Snake. The Vine Snake is a snake species found all throughout the Americas. Specifically notice the very similar pointed nose, that the Rough Green Snake notably lacks. == Head shaped like Cyndaquil's ==

:I don't know. With that new Dream World feature, which gives Pokémon new abilities, Tsutarja could be able to get Chlorophyll as a second ability. Tsutarja is most likely based on Oxybelis fulgidus, a slender snake with a pointed head that inhabits Central America and South America. The Pokémon's combination of snake- and lizard-like features is also similar to that of the skink, more specifically the Neoseps. Neoseps heavilly resemble snakes but have small, stubby legs. Its head and general body shape, as well as its protrusions on its shoulders, are most likely based on the Strelitzia and possibly the Heliconia.
Pokémon pairs often used in double battles
This doesn't belong on this page, because it's not part of the concept of double battles. It's more like thinly veiled strategy. And like SaturnYoshi wrote above, who uses these pairs? The list is rather opinionated and prone to personal preference. I think it belongs on an appendix page.&nbsp;&mdash;&nbsp;Laoris&nbsp;(Blah) 06:18, 4 December 2008 (UTC)

Targeting Order of Multi-Target Moves and Dark Void
I have played double battles a lot recently. One aspect of them(In 4th Gen at least) that can be of importance, is that any attack that targets to multiple pokemon will hit the fastest target first, and the slowest last(Same goes in Trick Room, basically reversing the normal order). One important use of this I know is in regards to Dark Void in Battle Revolution Doubles while Sleep Clause is active. The fastest target will be the first to get hit(Or get lucky with a miss). The slower one will be guaranteed to avoid it if it hits the faster one and puts sleep on them, unless the faster one already has a non-sleep status on them/it misses the fast target.
Dark Void is definitely the only move where knowing the order could be useful(Such as switching in a slow pokemon to make your fast sleep-talker fall asleep instead of a faster sweeper. For Lum berry or Chesto berry-holders, just give it to a faster pokemon, to let your slow sleep-talker be put to sleep). If sleep clause is not active, then both pokemon will only have a normal chance to avoid it. For the other moves, the attack order is not as important to know(Since they just deal damage or confusion, which aren't as bad as sleep in most cases). Joe T.E. 15:59, 22 December 2008 (UTC)
:Well, I did mention the turn-order thing in the article, and the Dark Void page already mentions the Sleep Clause deal, so I think we're good in that regard. --Phred 18:57, 23 December 2008 (UTC)
In-game double battle partners
I'm not talking the stat trainers; they already have what I'm after. A list of other double-battle partners would be nice though, along with the back sprites of Barry and Steven. You know, just because they aren't anywhere else? -_-; Luna Tiger * the Arc Toraph 11:50, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
Trivia?
Is it worth mentioning that in the main series there isn't a single case of a double battle involving just two trainers? Like it's either the player and a teammate, or a player versus two trainers. Never player versus a single trainer, unless you count the battle tower (I think? that might even be against two trainers).
