Sea Mauville (Japanese: シーキンセツ Sea Kinsetsu) is a decrepit research facility in the Hoenn region, located to the north of 108. The second part of the structure can only be accessed by using Dive and contains the Scanner.

Sea Mauville includes both the decrepit platform itself as well as the water area and sandbar outside of the facility; the northern exterior can only be accessed by travelling underwater inside the platform using Dive.

Sea Mauville takes the place of the Abandoned Ship from Ruby in order to avoid associating with the sinking of the MV Sewol in South Korea.

In the games
History
Sea Mauville was a facility commissioned by Greater Mauville Holdings and led by Wattson to extract the natural resources of the ocean. Members of the staff included Captain Stern, Dock, Professor Cozmo's father Raizoh, and Cap'n Salty. Due to several incidents, such as the closure of New Mauville, the facility was closed. After its closure, an environmental survey discovered that the ruins had created a unique habitat for Pokémon and plants, such as mangroves, which only grow there and in Mossdeep City. Because of this, its demolition was canceled, and the ruin was revived as a natural preserve.

Slogans
:"There is a worn-out sign. Sea Mauville's 10 slogans for a cheerful and fun workplace."
:"01. Say good morning very loudly."
:"02. Don't bring Pokémon to your workplace."
:"03. Always arrive on time. Always stay late."
:"04. Lay your life on the line in safety checks."
:"05. Take joint responsibility for teamwork."
:"06. Obey your superior's orders absolutely."
:"07. Maintain top quality. Give up your sanity."
:"08. Worship and praise the founder."
:"09. Don't expect time off before you retire."
:"10. No need to think. Just work unceasingly."

Company song
:"There's a crumpled piece of paper inside. "Sea Mauville Company Song" is written on it."
:"1. The daybreak shines on Route 108. Wake up, our towering fort. For the bright future Hoenn, We won't take our days off. Dig through, dig out great energy. Ah, Sea Mauville, Sea Mauville, Sea Mauville."
:"2. The bright light shines on Route 108. Intensely shiny, our fort. Swear your selfless devotion. Unionization is out of the question. Dig through, dig out great energy. Ah, Sea Mauville, Sea Mauville, Sea Mauville."
:"3. Darkness descends on Route 108. Tonight again sleepless, our fort. Drive away our competitors. We won't take our overtime pay. Dig through, dig out great energy. Ah, Sea Mauville, Sea Mauville, Sea Mauville."

Old note
:"There's an old note at the back of the cabinet with broken glass."
:"Finally, the date of closing has been decided. I can't say thank you enough to Stern, who invited us to his shipyard when we would have been left adrift. Dock, who's done a dirty job, and I can both start with a clean slate. The only way we can repay him is to support his business with our skills."
The bookshelf that the player examines in order to fight Spiritomb holds papers describing that Raizoh Cozmo was held responsible for losing an Odd Keystone that was donated to the Sea Mauville by the Oreburgh Mine in Sinnoh.
:"The damage caused by the cancellation of the New Mauville project has been catastrophic. As a member of the management, much of the blame and the debts will fall upon me. But that will be little consolation to the employees working under me who will lose their livelihoods. I couldn't do a thing for them... I'm a man with no power... Protecting nature and Pokémon and the environment... It's great as an idea. It's a fine ideal to aspire to. And Wattson is a great man for dreaming of it all. But cruel reality and the organization that I must try to preserve have dashed those dreams. I couldn't do a thing for him... ====Letters====
Five letters, a photograph, and a drawing are found in the northeastern (lower-right) room in the northern (right-hand) dry corridor:

* First:
:"Dear Daddy,
:"How are you? Are you working really hard? I'm doing well. I'm doing all my homework, and I'm helping at home, too. Mommy's working hard and makes us dinner every night. Do you have to work this weekend? Are you going to come home? If you come home, take me to see the star show, OK?
:"—Takao Cozmo
:"P. S. I'm going to send you the picture I drew at the Trainers' School."

* Second:
:It looked like another letter, but it's a drawing. The drawing is of a boy's face, and written next to it are the words "I love you, Daddy."

* Third:
:"Dear Daddy,
:"How are you? Are you working really hard? I was sad that you didn't come last weekend. But Mommy didn't seem so sad. She went out with her friend. I finally got that telescope that I've been wanting. It was from you, wasn't it? Thanks, Daddy. I really, really wanted it. I like looking at the sky, Daddy. When I look at the stars, I wonder if you are looking at the same stars, too. Let's look at the stars together, next time you come home.
:"—Takao Cozmo"

* Fourth:
:"Dear Daddy,
:"How are you? You aren't working too hard, are you? You never come home anymore. I'm worried if you're OK. Mommy goes out with her friends a lot. It seems like fun, so I guess she's doing OK. The Shelgon that you gave me evolved the other day. But I liked it better when it was a Shelgon and it looked like a Meteorite. Salamence was kind of a letdown, so I asked a friend to trade it for his Solrock. I'm sorry, Daddy. I know it was a present, but I think Solrock is cooler. When it gets dark tonight, I'm going to look at the stars again. I'll think of you when I do.
:"—Takao Cozmo"

* Fifth:
:"Dear Daddy,
:"I was really, really happy to get to meet you the other day. It was so fun playing together again and going to see the star show, too, even if it was just the two of us. It was sad that Mommy couldn't go, and even more sad when you and Mommy fought that night. I'll study hard, just like you told me, and I'll be a good boy, so don't fight. But let me keep watching the stars, even if I have to do all my homework, too. When I grow up, I want to be a professor and study the stars.
:"—Takao Cozmo"

* Sixth:
:"Dear Daddy,
:"Thank you for writing to me. I'm doing really well here, so please don't worry about me. I hope I'll see you again someday. I dream about it all the time. I brought the telescope you bought me to our new house. Please don't work too hard, Daddy. I hope you are OK. I will always, always love the stars, and I will always, always love you.
:"—Takao Cozmo
:"P. S. I'll give you my Hi Skitty doll. Please take care of it for me."

* Seventh:
:It looked like another letter, but it's a photo. There's a little boy holding a telescope, with a woman beside him, looking bored.

In Alpha Sapphire, at the control desk in the submerged control room, a portal appears if the player has the Tidal Bell. Interacting with this portal will initiate a battle with Lugia. In Omega Ruby, at the end of the beam that extends a significant distance west and upwards from the surface, a portal appears if the player has the Clear Bell. Sea Mauville appeared in Narrowing the Chaser Chase!, where it served as the site of a Project Mew Trial Mission, revealed to be a battle royale amongst multiple Project Mew challengers, including Goh and Horace. Besides the other Trainers, the challengers also had to survive hordes of Pokémon unleashed on them by Danika. Ultimately, Goh and Horace were left as the last Trainers standing, and although Horace tried to forfeit in Goh's favor, Goh encouraged him to actually battle him. The battle ended in Goh's loss, making Horace the winner of the mission, although Goh also received some tokens for finishing second.

Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire
The Sea Mauville debuted in Beedrill Prepares. Mr. Stone had Sapphire and Emerald be taken there as part of an operation to prevent a meteoroid from crashing into the planet. Mr. Stone had Mr. Briney transport machines known as the Absorbers to the Sea Mauville, where they were placed inside of the facility.

In Slowbro Has an Idea, after resting for the night, Mr. Stone and Steven began their operation. After putting Chic and Emerald on the Absorbers, Sapphire and Emerald Mega Evolved their Pokémon. Immediately afterward, Mr. Stone and Steven activated the Absorbers, which then began the process of draining the life force of Chic and Sceptile, much to their Trainers' horror. The life force was transferred into a machine known as the dimensional shifter, which was to be outfitted to a rocket that would be launched at the meteoroid in order to create a warp hole that would transport it to another location.

In Goodra Spits, shortly after the process was finished, the area was attacked by Zinnia and a group of Team Magma Grunt and Team Aqua Grunts working with her in order to stop the operation. The group fought Zinnia and her allies in order to protect the shifter from being destroyed, but it and Sapphire eventually fell into the hoop of a wild Hoopa, which sent them to another location. With the shifter gone, Zinnia took her attention in stealing Steven's Key Stone, but she was stopped by the arrival of Ruby in Swampert Smashes, offering up his and Emerald's Key Stones instead. Zinnia accepted the offer and left with the Key Stones, but after her departure, Ruby revealed that he had secretly managed to snatch a special scroll from her. Ultima later revealed that the scroll contained the essence of a move called Dragon Ascent, acting as a sort of primitive TM. Meanwhile, Steven and Mr. Stone received word that Sapphire and the dimensional shifter had both wound up at the Mossdeep Space Center and departed there immediately.
Trivia
* An old magazine found at Sea Mauville features "a young lady who looks like Lisia" on its cover. It is possible that this person is Lisia's mother, Wallace's sister.
* An old dual screen game console "that seems different from the one you have" can also be found at Sea Mauville. Considering its age, it could be a Nintendo DS or a Game & Watch.
* Both the Prima game guide and game data contain rematch data for Mysterious Sisters Scall & Ion that cannot be accessed in regular gameplay due to Dive (and thus the Mind) being required to find their room key. The battle, which would have been available after the Feather Badge like another rematch here, would have featured a level 34 Chingling and a level 33 Gardevoir.
* The Hi Skitty doll found here is likely a reference to Hello Kitty.
The Abandoned Ship (Japanese: すてられ船 Abandoned Ship) is a wrecked ship located on 108 in Hoenn, originally being a ship named the S.S. Cactus (Japanese: カクタスごう Cactus-gō). The second part of the ship can only be accessed by using Dive and contains the Scanner.

In Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Sea Mauville takes the place of the Abandoned Ship, as the developers wanted to avoid connections to the sinking of the MV Sewol in South Korea.

In the games
Geography
The Abandoned Ship is a tattered, old ship that looks like it could carry passengers and cargo when it was in operation. This old ship has many rusted holes, broken doors and items of furniture scattered around rooms. One room has a huge pool of water, in which the player can dive down to reach a lower floor. The Abandoned Ship has 20 accessible rooms including a captain's office and underwater rooms.

Many Trainers train their Pokémon in the Abandoned Ship, mostly Tubers and Sailors, but also a Young Couple, who battle the player in a Double Battle.

After Dive is used to access the second part of the ship, the player will encounter five locked doors. As soon as a room is entered, a few spots in the room will gleam, showing that there is something there (either a key or "trash"). The gleams only happen just after the room is entered through the door. The player should check for keys on the gleaming spaces like other hidden items: by facing the space and pressing the 'A' button (standing on the space will not work). Once the key is found, the player can use the new key to access the next room.

History
The Abandoned Ship is mentioned by a character in the Oceanic Museum, saying that the model of the S.S. Anne reminds him of the Abandoned Ship. The ship contained a rare Scanner when it sank and it is now buried deep within the ship.

RS
The Abandoned Ship, known as the Forsaken Ship in the dub, appeared in Abandon Ship!. The ship was capsized many years ago during a storm, though all of the passengers, including Tommy, were safely evacuated. However, Tommy's Marshtomp was accidentally left behind during the chaos, as it was outside of its Poké Ball at the time. Since the crash, the shipwreck has suffered from significant water inundation and is now inhabited by a large array of Water Pokémon. Tommy's Marshtomp also evolved into a Swampert.

Years later, Tommy returned to the Forsaken Ship to search for his Marshtomp. Ash and ashfr also arrived on the ship after the boat they were on ran out of fuel and drifted them over to the wreck. A search soon began when May's Torchic went missing aboard, and later, Swampert was revealed to have been responsible for kidnapping Torchic, May, Max, and TRT, all as part of an effort to protect its new home. Tommy immediately recognized Swampert as his Marshtomp. After convincing Swampert he had returned for it, Tommy stayed aboard the ship to renovate it as a haven for the many wild Pokémon that now call it home. Tommy later escorted the group to Slateport City with his speedboat.

Ruby & Sapphire
The Abandoned Ship first appeared in Adding It Up with Plusle & Minun I and II, where Ruby and Sapphire wandered to the site while surfing through 108 on Sapphire's Wailord, Lorry. Sapphire tossed Ruby onto the ship to spend his night there, preferring to sleep on Lorry's back herself. Aboard the ship, Ruby found multiple Berry trees that had grown from the Berries carried aboard the ship, as well as a Ruby and a Sapphire, who started playing tricks on him and his Pokémon.

However, Ruby and Sapphire found the ship and themselves being attacked by Tabitha and Courtney of Team Magma, who were after the rare Scanner aboard the ship. Using Plusle and Minun to fight the two Magma Admins, the two Pokédex holders eventually managed to escape with their lives, although the villains still managed to get their hands on the Scanner.

The Abandoned Ship appeared again in The Beginning of the End with Kyogre & Groudon II, where it was destroyed by Super-ancient Pokémon (Adventures) after it had been awakened by Team Aqua, sending Plusle and Minun to drift in the ocean. In Can I Ninjask You a Question? and The Beginning of the End with Kyogre & Groudon IX, Wattson, Flannery, and Winona engaged the three Aqua Admin at the site of the Abandoned Ship, doing their best to stop Kyogre's advancement through Hoenn. The battle was eventually called off by Shelly when she deemed that it was too late for the Gym Leaders to do anything to stop Kyogre.

Trivia
* In all versions of except Spanish and Italian, Tuber Charlie is affected by a minor glitch which also affects Aroma Lady Rose on 118 and Gentleman Walter on 121. Because he always approaches the player if he catches sight of them, he will walk right through a wall if it is in front of him.
* Battles on stairs and door entrances of the ship take place in a cave environment instead of the usual building environment. These can be initiated by having Tuber Charlie or Youngster Demetrius spot the player and initiate a battle.
This subset focuses on Dragon Pokémon.

Information
As indicated by its name, Enhanced Expansion Pack: Paradise Dragona is a subset heavily focused on Pokémon that are originally Dragon in the core series games, such as Latias, Latios, and Gouging Fire; and Trainer cards depicting characters associated with Dragon-type Pokémon, such as Drayton and Lisia. It also continues to introduce Stellar Tera Pokémon ex into the meta, with Stellar-type Alolan ExeggutorTera ex as its central Pokémon. A tropical/summer theme is also generally present within cards in the set.

Paradise Dragona is designed for use in Sealed format tournaments, in which participants are provided with sealed TCG products and have to build and battle their decks using only cards pulled from those products, along with any other cards provided by the tournament staff.

Paradise Dragona was released in Japan on September 13, 2024, followed by localized releases in Traditional Chinese on September 27, 2024. Each booster pack of Paradise Dragona contains five cards. Each booster box of Paradise Dragona contains 30 booster packs.

There are no Lightning-type or Darkness-type cards in this set.

The year on which Paradise Dragona was released, 2024, is also the Dragon (zodiac) according to the Chinese calendar.
Lost Box Kyogre is the name of the deck used by Shao Tong Yen, the Junior Division champion at the 2023 Pokémon World Championships. It is one of the 2023 World Championship Decks released March 1, 2024. Each deck comes with a playmat, poster, booklet about the event, TCGL code card, and a special Worlds 2023 deck box, pin, and coin. The cards included in the deck are not the exact prints used by Shao Tong, but are the most recent, lowest-rarity print with any Holofoil removed. Each card has a unique card back (thus making them ineligible for tournaments) and Shao Tong's signature.
Description
Packaging
<i>In the hands of Champion Shao Tong Yen, this clever Lost Box Kyogre deck washed away the competition in Yokohama. While it hinges on a strategy fit for a Pokémon TCG Champion—an awful lot of cards have to be in the Lost Zone in order to “turn on” this deck’s biggest rewards—those rewards are well worth the challenge. Comfey’s Flower Selecting Ability and Colress’s Experiment are more than capable of quickly stocking the Lost Zone. And if the cards fall right, players can piece together Shao Tong’s epic Kyogre combo for the win!</i>

Booklet
Anyone who watched the exhilarating finish to the Junior Finals would find it hard to believe that Shao Tong only started playing the Pokémon TCG competitively in 2022 and had real doubts about his chances of reaching even the Top 8 at Worlds. He is, of course, a normal kid who enjoys normal things like basketball and good food...but in his final game of the tournament, he also displayed the hallmarks of a true Pokémon TCG master, as his impeccable planning of an incredibly difficult setup segued into a devastating highlight-reel combo to take the last KO and win it all.
Colorless Lugia is the name of the deck used by Gabriel Fernandez, the Seniors Division champion at the 2023 Pokémon World Championships. It is one of the 2023 World Championship Decks released March 1, 2024. Each deck comes with a playmat, poster, booklet about the event, TCGL code card, and a special Worlds 2023 deck box, pin, and coin.
Description
Packaging
<i>Gabriel Fernandez soared to great heights in Yokohama, all the way to an impressive World Championships victory. Fast, resilient, and hard-hitting, his Colorless Lugia deck delivered on synergy and Energy acceleration. The Lugia VSTAR and Archeops dream team at its center has become a major part of the metagame for a reason—Lugia VSTAR pulls Archeops directly onto the Bench, and Archeops returns the favor by immediately powering the Legendary Pokémon up for battle. Combine this with Double Turbo Energy to quickly swoop in with a devastating Tempest Dive attack, and get ready to summon the Prize cards!</i>

Booklet
Gabriel went all the way in Yokohama, storming to a World Champion title behind a Lugia-led, Special Energy-powered monster of a deck. His origins in the TCG competition trace back to five years ago, when his brother introduced him to the game and taught him how to play. In true master-versus-student fashion, both brothers would eventually face off in high-level competition. Now, they maintain their family rivalry (and, clearly, camaraderie) five days a week by playing online in Pokémon TCG Live. In fact, to take things full circle, Gabriel's deck has an online competition to thank for its original creation. Mighty oaks from little acorns grow, as they say.
Psychic Elegance is the name of the deck used by Tord Reklev, the Masters Division runner-up at the 2023 Pokémon World Championships. It is one of the 2023 World Championship Decks released March 1, 2024. Each deck comes with a playmat, poster, booklet about the event, TCGL code card, and a special Worlds 2023 deck box, pin, and coin.
Description
Packaging
<i>Pokémon TCG legend Tord Reklev's masterful touch is apparent throughout his Psychic Elegance deck - its pieces build upon each other to form a powerhouse engine. From the early game to the late, support is provided by synergistic card combinations. In this skillful strategy, Kirlia is more than a means to an end - its Refinement Ability forms the deck's backbone, as it helps Gardevoir ex accelerate extra energy through discarding, and ultimately, take control of the game. With a little help from comeback kid Iono, opponents can watch their strategies suddenly dissolve in Gardevoir's embrace.</i>

Booklet
Tord is one of the giants of the competitive TCG scene. Since his debut in the 2014 season, he has won just about everything there is to win, with only a world title eluding him. He is the only player so far to complete a grand slam by winning all four International Championships. He has won Regionals and Special Events all across Europe and the US. He has made top cut at a major event at least once every season since 2016. Our point is, Tord is a juggernaut. So, with all his experience, knowledge, and success, what was his strategy for 2023? Frighteningly simple, really: "Set up Gardevoir. Attack." True to his word, Tord rampaged through the bracket all the way to the finals table and a game that will go down as one of the most hard fought and intense in Worlds history.

Mew's Revenge is the name of the deck used by Vance Kelley, the Masters Division champion at the 2023 Pokémon World Championships. It is one of the 2023 World Championship Decks released March 1, 2024. Each deck comes with a playmat, poster, booklet about the event, TCGL code card, and a special Worlds 2023 deck box, pin, and coin. The cards included in the deck are not the exact prints used by Kelley, but are the most recent, lowest-rarity print with any Holofoil removed. Each card has a unique card back (thus making them ineligible for tournaments) and Kelley's signature.

Description
Packaging
<i>Let’s set the scene for one of the greatest Pokémon Trading Card Game Championships battles of all time: underdog Vance Kelley is up against a legend of the game, the match is tied at one win each, and the clock has just run out. The speed, aggression, and sheer disruptive power of the Mew VMAX deck archetype has been popular for a reason, and it led Vance to victory. At the deck’s heart is the powerful engine provided by Genesect V’s Fusion Strike System Ability and plenty of Energy acceleration from Elesa’s Sparkle, which together allow players to attack like only a Champion can—early, often, and with a vengeance.</i>

Booklet
Vance says he was "focused" coming into Worlds. He was also relentless. And by the time the curtain came down on the tournament, his victory seemed close to inevitable. This title match was an epic struggle in front of a packed arena, going down to the wire with a nerve-jangling, nail-biting, sudden-death conclusion. So, how did he manage to stay cool and collected enough to become Champion? The answer lies in simplicity and determination. "I always play Mew", he says, "It's just a question of what other cards to include."

Rayquaza GX was a Pokémon Trading Card Game deck archetype played during the very end of the 2017-2018 season, remaining as a contender through the whole 2018-2019 season. The deck's strategy revolved around Celestial Storm's potential to deal damage for each energy in the player's Pokémon and its Ability to attach energies to itself when put into play. Rayquaza GX's best results were 1st place in the Masters Division at the 2018 Japan Championships and 4th, 5th and 7th places in the Masters Division at the 2018 Pokémon Trading Card Game World Championships. Semifinalist Pedro Eugenio Torres' version was printed as a promotional World Championships deck, Dragones y Sombras.

Strategy
Rayquaza GX offered a very solid strategy through its main attacker: Rayquaza-GX's Stormy Winds Ability allowed the player to attach a basic energy from the discard pile when put into play with the drawback of discarding cards from the deck and its Dragon Break Attack dealt 30 damage times the number of each Grass and Lightning energies in the player's Pokémon. Supporting Pokémon would be played along as secondary attackers, speed up energy attachments or to allow the player to draw all possible Rayquaza-GX from their deck. BREAKpoint was a great way to power up benched Pokémon and allowed a big swing with the right setup on the player's first turn. Team Up and Team Up were also late but notable additions to the archetype.

Key cards
* Celestial Storm - When played in the field, Rayquaza-GX's Stormy Winds Ability could discard the top 3 cards from the player's deck and attach a basic energy to itself, even if not one of those discarded cards. Its Dragon Break attack could knock out most Basic Pokémon-EX and Pokémon-GX with 6 basic Grass and Lightning energies in the player's Pokémon.
* Shining Legends -Its Let Loose Ability was a cheap way to redraw cards with a non-GX Pokémon.
* Team Up - Its Dance of the Ancients Ability allowed the player to attach more Lightning energies to benched Pokémon.
* Team Up - A secondary attacker with free retreat cost and a similar attack to Rayquaza-GX.
* BREAKpoint - Played for a chance to attach basic energies from the deck to benched Rayquaza-GX.
* Sun & Moon - Played with the loss of Max Elixir in some lists to power up the deck's attackers with its Strong Charge Ability.
TDK was a Pokémon Trading Card Game deck archetype mainly played during the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 seasons. The deck's strategy was to attack with the Team Plasma Pokémon Plasma Freeze, Plasma Freeze while multiple Plasma Freeze increased the attack of these Pokémon. With a constant attendance during the seasons, TDK took 2nd place in the Master and Junior Divisions and 1st place in Seniors at the 2013 Pokémon Trading Card Game World Championships and 1st place in the Junior Division at the 2014 World Championships. 2013 Junior Runner-up Yugo Sato and 2014 Juniors Champion Haruto Kobayashi's versions were printed as promotional World Championships decks, Ultimate Team Plasma and Plasma Power.

Strategy
TDK focused on quickly charging Benched Kyurem by using Thundurus-EX's Raiden Knuckle attack and discarding energies with Items such as Flashfire. Deoxys-EX's Power Connect Ability boosted the power of other Team Plasma Pokémon with a stackable effect, with four benched Deoxys-EX increasing Raiden Knuckles damage to 70 damage and Kyurem's Blizzard Burn to 160 damage (without other modifiers). Finishing off Pokémon damaged from Thundurus-EX with Kyurem, a non-EX Pokémon, was the deck's common gameplan. The versatility of Pokémon types and dealing moderate damage in the first turn were helpful to compete against other decks in the format.

The deck would mainly play special energies, especially Plasma Blast and Next Destinies. Colress Machine was a valuable resource for the deck, since it sped up the energy attachment for all Plasma Pokémon and allowed Kyurem's Frost Spear and Deoxys-EX's Helix Force to be used when more useful than Thundurus-EX (or when these Pokémon could not retreat). Different techs could be included in TDK lists, such as other Team Plasma Pokémon, switching and healing Item cards.

Key cards
* Plasma Freeze - Thundurus-EX's Raiden Knuckle attack dealt damage while allowing to attach any energy from the discard pile to a benched Team Plasma Pokémon. This was commonly used to charge up Kyurem. Could rarely use Thunderous Noise to knock out certain Pokémon.
* Plasma Freeze - Kyurem's Frost Spear and Blizzard Burn were decent attacks that benefited from the deck's energy acceleration while being a single-prize attacker. When not knocked out after using Blizzard Burn, Kyurem could be switched out with an Item card to be able to use that attack again.
* Plasma Freeze - Deoxys-EX's Power Connect Ability enhanced the damage of other Team Plasma Pokémon. Had a better role as a benched Pokémon, but could also use its Helix Force attack when preferred.
* Plasma Storm - Plasma Storm could be attached from the deck to Team Plasma Pokémon thanks to Colress Machine, allowing for attaching more than one Energy card per turn.
* XY - Post-XY, Muscle Band was the most optimal Tool card for this deck, enhancing the Pokémon's damage by 20.
*Plasma Storm - The additional damage counters from Poison helped the math to knock out opposing Pokémon.
*Plasma Freeze - Free Retreat cost for Deoxys-EX and Kyurem, which could end in the Active spot at the first turn.
The following cards are often used in TDK in place of certain cards included in the above lists.
*Plasma Storm and Plasma Freeze - Secondary attackers that benefitted from the Plasma Energy/Colress Machine engine. Lugia-EX's Plasma Gale attack could deal the same amount of damage as Kyurem's Blizzard Burn, even if it costed more and required the user to discard a Plasma Energy in order for it to attack, and its Overflow Ability could also allow it to take additional Prize cards from knocking out opposing Pokemon. Absol's Mind Jack attack could also do the same amount of damage as Blizzard Burn for only 2 energies, provided that the opponent's bench was full.
*Plasma Freeze - Latias-EX's Bright Down Ability prevented it from being damaged by Pokémon with abilities, while its Barrier Break attack ignored effects on the defending Pokémon.
*Emerging Powers - Healed damage preferably from Thundurus-EX. Since this attacker could reattach energies from the discard pile with one enregy, Max Potion's drawback was often not harmful.
*Plasma Storm - Moved energies from the Active Pokémon that could lead to big advantages at key moments and prevent the Active Pokémon from being knocked out.
|era=2010-
}}
ReshiBoar is a deck that was one of the first conceived when the HGSS-on Format was introduced. It combines Reshiram from Black and White, and Emboar from Black and White.

The strategy of the deck is to keep cycling Energy Card with Emboar to constantly hit for 120 with Reshiram's Blue Flare.

Emboar's Pokémon Power, Inferno Fandango, allows one to attach as many Fire Energy to one's Pokémon as one likes. Combined with Reshiram's Blue Flare, and , the deck consistently outputs 120 damage. Before significant tournament results emerged, it was debated whether ReshiBoar or TyRam was the better deck. TyRam became much more successful because the ability to recycle energy allowed the deck to conserve space, while ReshiBoar had to devote several slots to Energy Retrieval and more Energy cards. Despite being the inferior of the two decks, Masters champion David Cohen piloted the deck to 1st place at the 2011 World Championships, and had his version of the deck as a promotion World Championships deck, Twinboar.

Deck strategy
The two main cards in this deck are Reshiram and Emboar. Reshiram is the main attacker, as its Blue Flare attack does 120 damage for 1 Colorless and 2 Fire Energy; however, the player discards 2 Fire Energy upon using it. Emboar's Inferno Fandango Ability lets the player move as much Fire Energy as they like to Reshiram to attack again in 1 turn.

Rayquaza & Deoxys LEGEND was also used as a secondary attacker, dealing 150 damage with its Ozone Buster attack for the same amount as Reshiram's Blue Flare with an additional Lightning Energy, but requiring the user to discard all Fire Energy attached to it, rather than just 2. Blastoise/Keldeo was a Pokémon Trading Card Game deck archetype played during the 2012-2013 and 2013-2014 season. The deck's strategy revolved around playing Boundaries Crossed to put as many possible Energies into attackers such as Boundaries Crossed for easy knockouts. With an usual attendance during the seasons despite being countered by decks with Dragons Exalted and later Virizion-EX/Genesect-EX, a Blastoise/Keldeo player achieved 2nd place in the Senior Division at the 2014 Pokémon Trading Card Game World Championships, and another Blastoise/Keldeo player took 1st place at the 2015 Pokémon Trading Card Game World Championships, among other relevant titles at minor events. Masters champion Jacob Van Wagner's version was printed as a promotional World Championships deck, HonorStoise.

Strategy
Blastoise/Keldeo focused on playing Blastoise as soon it was possible to use its Deluge Ability, which similar to the first printed Base Set allowed to play as many Water Energies from the player's hand to Pokémon in play during their turn. Keldeo-EX and Plasma Storm (introduced a set later) were the most useful attackers for the deck, with the potential to knock out most Pokémon in their active formats with the right setup but the need to use many Energy cards. The deck used resources such as Rare Candy to speed up the Blastoise setup and Plasma Freeze to not run out of Energies.

While not the most sucessful deck of the formats it was active, Blastoise/Keldeo was known for its straightforwardness and ease to play for casual players. The release of Primal Clash introduced Primal Clash, which mutated the archetype into Archie's Blastoise and allowed Blastoise to stay relevant in future formats.
*Boundaries Crossed - The Deluge Ability allowed the player to attach as many Water Energies from their hand to Pokémon during their turn. As a Stage 2 Pokémon, it was important to have more than one line in play to avoid the impact of its knockout.
*Boundaries Crossed - Secret Sword scaled damage for each Water Energy attached to Keldeo; at 7 Energies, it could knock out any Basic Pokémon-EX (and non-EX Pokémon for less). Its Rush In Ability was also useful at easily becoming the Active Pokémon.
*Plasma Storm - Black Ballista allowed Black Kyurem-EX to knock out most Pokémon before the introduction of M Pokémon-EX, but forced Energy cards to be discarded and required a Lightning Energy.
*Plasma Freeze - Used to draw cards each turn and prevent a resourceless hand from opposing players playing Dark Explorers.
*Rare Candy - Skipped the middle evolutionary Stage for Blastoise, allowing its setup at the player's second turn.
*Plasma Freeze - Retrieved discarded Basic Energies to the player's hand.
*Dragons Exalted - Discarded Pokémon Tool cards from Garbodor to remove its Ability denial. Later replaced by Flashfire with the same purpose.
*BW Promo - Used to draw cards. Tropical Beach's drawback of ending the turn with its effect was not harmful in the first turn, since the player could not use any expensive attack. Notably the most expensive card in the Standard Format while it was in rotation due to its low distribution.

A deck archetype is a deck, built by players of the Trading Card Game, that utilizes one set structure, although various players may have slight differences between their own decks of the same archetype.

An example of a now-defunct archetype is Haymaker, which commonly used Base Set Base Set and Base Set, and Jungle Jungle. While these cards are usually a staple of the Haymaker archetype, they are not required to make a Haymaker deck. For example, instead of using the Jungle Scyther, a player may choose to instead focus on the Fighting in the deck, and utilize Fossil Fossil. The exact number and kinds of Trainers used with an archetype may also differ, with some users of Haymaker preferring the drawing power of Base Set despite its disadvantage of discarding the entire hand, while others would choose Base Set instead.

Deckbuilding guidelines
:These guidelines apply to building any tournament legal deck of Pokémon cards.
In a standard legal deck, only four cards of the same name may be included, except for Basic Energy cards and Arceus (in Generation IV), of which there can be as many as a player desires to fill the deck to 60. This four-card rule includes cards with the same name but different effects: a player may have three Stormfront expansion Stormfront and one Majestic Dawn expansion Majestic Dawn, but only four which have the name "Pikachu". Cards that have a different name (EX Team Rocket Returns and Mysterious Treasures, for example) count differently, and thus players may have four of each in their deck. δ Delta Species Pokémon count as the same as their non-δ counterparts.

List of well-known archetypes
This is a list of many of the most competitive decks that were legal during their respective eras of play.
Note that variants of some archetypes may have been played in multiple seasons of play. These will be listed during the most recent format in which they were viable.
