The player can obtain the Diancite by passing Level 50 on a Mega Diancie [[Escalation Battle]] in Weeks 10 and 11 of the event rotation.

The Diancite was also available as a prize during the Mega Diancie Escalation Battles prior to the event rotation system. This Escalation Battle ran on both the Nintendo 3DS and Mobile versions from February 9 to 23, 2016; August 23 to September 6, 2016; April 11 to 25, 2017; August 22 to September 5, 2017; and December 12 to 26, 2017.

A Lucarionite made its physical debut in ''[[XY031|The Cave of Trials!]]'', where it was found by [[Korrina]] in a cave near [[Geosenge Town]]. After battling a {{p|Blaziken}} guarding the Lucarionite—which was later revealed to belong to Korrina's grandfather, [[Gurkinn]]—Korrina obtained the Mega Stone and used it to Mega Evolve her {{TP|Korrina|Lucario}}. The uncut Lucarionite was later set in an armband by [[McGinty]], allowing Lucario to wear the Mega Stone.

Another Lucarionite appeared in ''[[XY032|The Aura Storm!]]'', under the ownership of Gurkinn. Much like Korrina's Lucario, Gurkinn's Lucario also wears its Lucarionite in an armband on its left wrist.

A Lucarionite appeared in a story told by Gurkinn in ''[[XY043|Origins of Mega Evolution!]]'', which depicted the first known Mega Evolution.

The player can obtain the Manectite by completing the [[Competitive Stage]] available in Week 7 of the event rotation.

The Manectite was also available as a prize during the Mega Manectric [[Competitive Stage]]. This Competitive Stage ran on the Nintendo 3DS version from June 29 to July 6, 2015; November 16 to 24, 2015; July 19 to 26, 2016; and November 7 to 14, 2017. It ran on the Pokémon Shuffle Mobile from September 18 to 28, 2015; July 19 to 26, 2016; and November 7 to 14, 2017.

Unfortunately, a {{tc|Team Flare Grunt}} tasked in collecting Mega Stones had also found the stone, and escaped with it. X, {{adv|Trevor}}, and a Manectric, who had gotten the group into searching the stone to begin with, chased the Grunt to [[Parfum Palace]], where they eventually managed to get the stone back. The Manectric, which had joined X's [[party]] with the [[nickname]] "[[Élec]]" during the chase, subsequently used the stone to Mega Evolve and send the Grunt running away. Élec would then start wearing the Manectite in his mane, allowing him to Mega Evolve whenever it is necessary.

If held by a {{p|Houndoom}}, allows it to [[Mega Evolution|Mega Evolve]] into Mega Houndoom if its {{pkmn|Trainer}} has a [[Key Stone]]. Each Trainer can only Mega Evolve one Pokémon per battle.

Unaffected by item negating effects (such as {{m|Embargo}} and {{a|Klutz}}). Item manipulating effects (such as {{m|Trick}} and {{m|Fling}}) cannot give Houndoom a Houndoominite or remove a Houndoominite from Houndoom.

====Outside of battle====
If held by a Houndoom, allows it to Mega Evolve into Mega Houndoom when it performs a {{DL|Appeal|Spectacular Talent}} during a [[Pokémon Contest|Pokémon Contest Spectacular]] while its Trainer has a Key Stone. Houndoom will remain a Mega Houndoom until the [[Pokémon Contest#Secondary judging|Talent Round]] ends.

In [[Pokémon Shuffle]], the Houndoominite allows the player to [[Mega Evolution|Mega Evolve]] {{p|Houndoom}}.

The player can obtain the Houndoominite by completing the [[Competitive Stage]] available in Week 19 of the event rotation.

The Houndoominite was also available as a prize during the Mega Houndoom [[Competitive Stage]]. This Competitive Stage ran on both the Nintendo 3DS and Mobile versions from January 17 to 24, 2017; and April 11 to 18, 2017.

The Houndoominite enables the following Mega Evolution:
