Nosepass (Japanese: ノズパス Nosepass) is a Rock Pokémon introduced in Generation III.

It evolves into Probopass when leveled up in a special magnetic field.

Biology
Nosepass is a blue, angular, hard bipedal Pokémon that closely resembles the Easter Island Heads. Its bright red, triangular nose is highly magnetic and slightly resembles a 3D arrow. This nose functions as an electromagnet and always points north. It has arms and legs without any visible joints and small, circular holes on the undersides. Its arms resemble compass needles. It has similar circular holes on the sides of its head. Its eyes, covered by dark, somewhat mask-like markings, have the appearance of being closed.

Nosepass cannot go near others, since it would repel them with its magnetic nose. Its magnetism is stronger in cold seasons. To protect itself when in danger, it raises its magnetism and draws iron objects to its body. This technique is also used to capture prey, though it can pull natural enemies close too. Nosepass only moves a little over 3/8 of an inch each year, but can quickly spin its body into the ground like a drill during emergency situations. It lives in List of Pokémon by habitat. Metang are natural predators of Nosepass.
Major appearances
Roxanne's Nosepass
Nosepass debuted in A Winner By a Nosepass, under the ownership of Roxanne. It was used in her Gym battle against Ash, where it was eventually defeated by Pikachu's Iron Tail.

Other
In Aipom and Circumstance, Hank used a Nosepass to track down Ash's missing Aipom. It then participated in the fight against TRT.

In Nosing 'Round the Mountain!, Alan used a Nosepass in Alan's requested battle against Ash at Mt. Coronet. Nosepass then evolved into a Probopass.

In the original timeline of Arceus and the Jewel of Life, four Nosepass were used by Damos, who was under Hypnosis, to attack Arceus with Shock Wave. When Ash and ashfr traveled to the past to prevent this, Marcus, the one responsible for hypnotizing Damos, managed to use the Nosepass again to attack Arceus.

Minor appearances
A Nosepass appeared in the opening sequence of Destiny Deoxys.
A Nosepass appeared in the opening sequence of Lucario and the Mystery of Mew.

In Battling The Generation Gap!, a Coordinator's Nosepass competed in the Performance Stage of the Celestic Contest.

Multiple Nosepass appeared in Cheers on Castaways Isle!.
Ash & Pikachu
Roxanne's Nosepass
Similar to the anime, Roxanne used a Nosepass during her Gym battle against Ash.

Pokémon Adventures
Roxanne's Nosepass
In Pokémon Adventures, Roxanne's main Pokémon is a Nosepass. It first appeared in Blowing Past Nosepass I. During her battle against Sapphire, she used Nosepass's Magnet Pull so that her Aron cannot be switched. She saves its Poké Ball inside a hollowed-out book. Later when fighting against Team Magma in Lilycove City, Nosepass uses its Block attack to stop Groudon from moving. Unfortunately, Roxanne allows Team Magma to knock Nosepass out to protect some civilians.

In Passing by Probopass and Maneuvering around Magnezone, Cyrus attacks Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum with a Nosepass and Magneton at Mt. Coronet. Due to Mt. Coronet's magnetic field, the Pokémon quickly evolve into Probopass and Magnezone, respectively.

Pokémon Ruby-Sapphire
Roxanne's Nosepass
Roxanne's main Pokémon is Nosepass, as seen in Clefairy's Training Camp!!.
Trivia
* Nosepass is the only Pokémon with a base stat total of 375.
** It is also the only Pokémon that can have Magnet Pull as its Ability, yet is not Electric or Steel.
* In HeartGold and SoulSilver, Nosepass is programmed to be able to learn Head Smash through breeding, but no other Pokémon in the Mineral can legitimately learn it to pass down as an Egg Move in those games. It was removed from Nosepass's Egg Move list in Generation V, but in more recent games, some Pokémon in the Mineral Egg Group have become able to pass it down.
* Due to the censor that prevents Pokémon with offensive nicknames being traded on the GTS, an English language Nosepass cannot be traded on the GTS without a nickname in Black and White.
* When displayed on the overworld map in Pokémon GO, a wild Nosepass's model will always face north. Normally, when a player enters then exits an encounter with a wild Pokémon, that Pokémon's model will turn facing the player. However, in Nosepass's case, it will turn back to face north after a few seconds.

Origin
On the Origin of Species: Nosepass and Probopass
It is based on the Moai statues of Easter Island, as well as a compass.

Its nasal compass may be based on the expression "follow one's nose", meaning "to trust to one's instincts". It also could be based on the ethmoid bone that is located between the nasal cavity and the brain, and is known to give some species their sense of direction via magnetoreception.

Name origin
Nosepass is a combination of nose and compass. NOSE is a mnemonic for the cardinal directions in French.
The dub created scene with Professor Oak looking at his drawings and when Tracy finding his drawing book be an error. Like the error would be that even thought Professor Oak had his drawing book out, in the credits is it in the closet all dusty like it has been away for years., that would be a contradiction or something. Would this would be a dub error.--<font color="#333333">Midnight</font> <font color="#191970">Blue</font> 05:54, 20 August 2009 (UTC)
I don't know but I think that the scene added at the end of the movie is supposed to take place storyline wise after the credits, as the credits also show ash leaving the forest, but the scene where they talk to professor Oak happens after they have left the forest, so that explains a lot.
I remember the Orange Island episode that dealt with the 300-400 year old trophy had the champion using regular Pokéballs and Pokémon 4ever has Sam using a clearly different one, but I noticed Sam's looked like an apricorn, albeit a very old school apricorn Pokéball. which would make sense given that Sam was in Johto 40 years ago(not trying to be speculative, though this kinda is, so.... oops.)In A Manica 03:45, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
In the English dub, near the end of the movie, while Ash and gang are talking to Prof. Oak on the video phone, the song that plays in the background is from the scene in the first movie where Ash remembers seeing ho-oh in the first episode. that's something that doesn't need proof. ==Gen 3 Coincidences==
In rewatching the movie while going to a convention, I noticed some coincidences with elements from Gen 3. The tree city is styled similarly to Fortree City, there's a Celebi in a forest with corrupted Pokémon similar to Agate Village, corrupted Pokémon like Shadow Pokémon, and Celebi is healed by other Celebis like that special flute that summons Celebi to purify a Shadow Pokémon. == Title? ==

Regarding this edit, may I ask why we use a different title than the title card? Rather than add a trivium about us not using the right title of the movie, shouldn't we just... start using the right title? :At the moment, I have been told not to change it based on the title card besides in a trivia point. --Abcboy (talk) 02:15, 21 January 2018 (UTC)
Error in the credits
I don't know if that would be a worthy addition to the error section, but I noticed that in the credits, on the page about the Japan production, the Pokemon Company is wrongly credited as the Pokeman Company.
