Magic Coat change?
Going by data in a Ruby and an XD ROM, it looks like Kinesis isn't affected by Magic Coat in Gen III. But this page doesn't say anything about that.

The same is true of a few other moves (like Roar) that would only be changed to be affected later, and those moves say that in Generation 'X' (I think "V") the move can now be affected by Magic Coat. But not here. Could someone maybe double-check Kinesis vs Magic Coat in Gen III and check it in Gen IV and V? == Contradictory information ==

I found some contradictory information between this article and Alakazam's Gen I learnset page. This article says that Alakazam does not get Kinesis at all during Gen I, but its Gen I moveset page says that Kinesis is one of its starting moves in Yellow. Does anyone know which of these is actually true? --Gyaradoom (talk to me) 02:10, 5 August 2015 (UTC)
:From the trivia:
::"In Pokémon Red and Blue, no Pokémon could learn Kinesis; it only appeared as a random Metronome move. From Pokémon Yellow onward, Kadabra has it as a starting move, such that wild Kadabra know Kinesis in Pokémon Yellow and the Generation II games. Kadabra and Alakazam can also be taught Kinesis using the Move Reminders in Pokémon Stadium 2."
::That wasn't what I was referring to. This page says that Alakazam doesn't have Kinesis as a starting move in Yellow, but Alakazam's Gen I learnset page says that it does. ::::Yes, but those dashes in the yellow cell are only there for Kadabra, not Alakazam. This move has the flag for being mirror coat affected in the FR/LG Decomp, earlier discussions indicate this might be different in RSE. The Celadon Mansion is a hotel-of-sorts, and the current tenants are none other than Game Freak, the team that developed Pokémon. The Game Corner houses the slot machines, and those coins can be redeemed for valuable prizes in the Prize Corner next door. In addition, Celadon is also home to the Celadon Gym, nestled on a hill in the southwest.
Celadon Mansion
The tall building in the north of town is Celadon Mansion. On the third floor, Game Freak's game designer promises a reward for showing him your completed Pokédex. Incidentally, you can find a new addition right now; leave the mansion and follow the path behind the Pokémon Center to find a break in the trees where you can enter the mansion through the back door. Make sure that you've got an empty slot in your party, and take the stairs to the top floor to find an Eevee. Eevee is an extremely versatile creature, since it can evolve into one of three different forms. Exposure to a Water Stone, Thunderstone, or Fire Stone results in a Vaporeon, Jolteon, or a Flareon, respectively. Any of those three evolutions will make a powerful addition to your team, especially since they can cover the weaknesses of your starter Pokémon's final form. These stones can be purchased only in the Department Store.

Return of the Rockets
If you haven't noticed by now, there are two Rocket grunts loitering around the city. It looks like Team Rocket has something planned for Celadon...

Stop by the café in the south of town and talk to the guy in the back corner. He lost all his money at the slots, so he has no more use for his Coin Case, and hands it over. Next door to the café is an operation that is shipping 2,000 Pokémon every month to the Game Corner as slot prizes. Those kind of numbers mean big money, and that's got Team Rocket's name written all over it. They're up to something, and as one of the workers points out, it surely has nothing to do with a hidden switch behind a poster in the Game Corner.
Defeating the Celadon Gym earns you the Rainbow, which commands attention from all Pokémon up to level 50, and enables the use of Strength outside of battle. Erika also gives you 21, a Grass attack that steals energy from the opponent.

With the Gym defeated, it's time to infiltrate Team Rocket's Celadon operation. Examine the poster in the Game Corner, which reveals a set of stairs nearby, to descend into their hideout.

Rocket Hideout
Team Rocket is headed by a shadowy figure known as Giovanni. This mob boss is in possession of the Silph Scope prototype, which can identify the ghosts back in Pokémon Tower. It is impossible to get past the spirits without that item, so make sure he doesn't escape with it!
Walk south to find an HP Up sitting on a table, then go north to find another Rocket. Grab the 02 from the other side of the table, and take out the Rocket. Talk to him after the battle, and he'll drop the Lift Key. Swipe it and get back to B2F, spin through the maze again, and enter the elevator in the southeast. Take a second to use any Potions you might have, and step out of the elevator. Right away, you are ambushed by the same pair of Rockets from Mt. Moon.

Make sure you've got an extra drink, and head back east to 7. Step into the gate and the guard will stop you. You'll automatically give him the drink, and since he'll share it with the other three guards, you can now come and go through Saffron City whenever you want. You may want to stop in the Saffron Poké Mart and grab a few Max Repels on your way back east.
The Ghosts here are totally immune to Normal- and Fighting attacks. Anything with a strong Psychic attack, like Kadabra or Drowzee, are good to bring along.
Celadon City is the second-largest city in the region, and it's got plenty going on to live up to the hype. The Celadon Department Store is an essential stop, since almost anything a Trainer could want is up for sale here.

Each Vending Machine dispenses Fresh Water, Soda Pop, and Lemonade. Buy one of each drink to give to the little girl nearby, and she'll give you up to three TMs as thanks - 13 for a Fresh Water, 48 for a Soda Pop, and 49 for a Lemonade. Pick up an extra drink for the guards at Saffron City's borders, and stock up on Lemonade. Like the other drinks, Lemonade can restore your Pokémon's health, but Lemonade is the most potent. It restores 80 HP, while by comparison, a Super Potion only restores 50 HP.
All the prizes here are offered at extremely high prices, so you'll need a huge supply of coins to get everything. A few can be found dropped on the ground, and talking to the other gamblers gets you some more. Besides that, you can either buy them—50 coins for pdollar1000—or take your chances with the slots. Scyther Pinsir are extremely rare, while Porygon are one-of-a-kind. Erika's Gym is one of the easiest to defeat, since Grass Pokémon have so many weaknesses. Fire and Flying Pokémon have the best advantage. While your own Grass Pokémon take less-than-normal damage from Grass attacks, they need to be careful of Poison moves like Acid. If you haven't used TM13 yet, Ice Beam can be a great help.

Team Rocket is headed by a shadowy figure known as Giovanni. This mob boss is in possession of the Silph Scope prototype, which can identify the ghosts back in Pokémon Tower. It is impossible to get past the spirits without that item, so make sure he doesn't escape with it!
If any of your Pokémon know the Dig move, they can return you to the tunnel's entrance at any time.
Lavender Town
Lavender is a tiny, quiet town, but it is not without its own unique landmarks. The most well-known is Pokémon Tower, while the Lavender Volunteer Pokémon House and the Name Rater are also found here. The Poké Mart in the southeast offers some new items, like Revives and Great Balls.

The Name Rater
The house on the south side of town belongs to the Name Rater. This man judges your Pokémon's nicknames, and gives you the chance to change them. His service is free, so you can change nicknames as often as you would like.

Abduction!
Kindly old Mr. Fuji, head of the Lavender Volunteer Pokémon House, has gone missing. His disappearance may have some connection to the recent paranormal activity occurring in nearby Pokémon Tower. However, besides keeping an eye open for clues, there's nothing that can be done about it right now.

Pokémon Tower
Pokémon Tower, where departed Pokémon are laid to rest, appears to be the source of the town's problems. Having a connection to the spirit world, most wild Pokémon found inside are Ghosts. Blue is on the tower's second floor, but you may decide to delay that battle by avoiding the tower for now. The spirit world's influence strengthens above the second floor, where ghosts and possessed Channelers are commonplace. But without a Silph Scope, you won't be able to climb to the tower's top floor.

Restless Spirits
Most ghosts inside the tower are truly Pokémon in disguise that can be battled or captured after obtaining the Silph Scope. Gastly and Haunter are two of the only three Ghosts in the game, so it's worthwhile to track them down. The one true ghost in the tower blocks access to the final floor, but since you can't do anything but run from it, it's best to ignore it for now. However, there are rumors of a Silph Scope prototype in Celadon City, so pack up and head west.

Celadon City lies off to the west, but Saffron City stands in the way. No one is currently allowed through the gate, so enter the building to the north and take the Underground Path that runs underneath Saffron. Remember to use the Itemfinder in the tunnel to search for lost valuables. You can find a nugget and an elixir if you spam the A button while walking straight left or right from the two sets of stairs. The tunnel emerges on 7.
