The '''island challenge''' (Japanese: '''島めぐり''' ''island-visiting'') is a rite of passage for burgeoning [[Pokémon Trainer]]s in the [[Alola]] [[region]]. Trainers can partake in these rites when they turn 11, which involve traveling through each of the four major islands of Alola and completing various '''trials''' (Japanese: '''試練''' ''trial'') on each. The goal of those taking the island challenge is to become the strongest Trainer, known as the island challenge champion.

Participants in the island challenge are given an island challenge amulet to identify them. The island challenge consists of a number of trials on each of the Alola region's four islands, with each usually headed by a [[Trial Captain]]. Trials are not limited to [[Pokémon battle]]s; they may involve finding designated [[item]]s or a test of knowledge, among other tasks. Trials are all difficult tasks that require Trainers to prove themselves. To complete the trial, the Trainer must defeat a [[Totem Pokémon]] in an [[SOS Battle]].

During a trial, the player cannot flee from battles, and wild Pokémon cannot be caught. If the player leaves the trial site before completing the trial, they have to start the trial again. Upon completing a trial, the player earns a [[Z-Crystal]].

The final trial on each island is called the '''grand trial''' (Japanese: '''大試練''' ''grand trial''). In the grand trial, the Trainer must battle the [[Island Kahuna]]. If they complete an island's grand trial, they are recognized as having cleared all of that island's trials and can move on to the next island. Similar to [[Badge]]s, completing trials can expand the amount of items purchasable in [[Poké Mart]]s, and completing grand trials will make [[Outsider Pokémon|traded Pokémon]] [[obedience|obey]] the player.

In the past, after clearing all trials and grand trials, usually challengers would head to the summit of [[Mount Lanakila]] and have a final trial, where they have to defeat all four kahunas in a row in order to be acknowledged as an island challenge champion. However, this final trial ceremony has now been replaced with the newly founded {{al|Pokémon League}}. Becoming the Champion earns the player the [[Trainer Passport|Island Challenge Completion stamp]], getting all [[outsider Pokémon]] regardless of level to obey the player.

==Plot==
The episode begins with [[Ash]] and his friends running. They are going to visit [[Poké Ball Factory]]. Suddenly, [[Team Rocket]] appeared in front of Ash and his friends, with calling themselves leaders of the factory.

For a while, they enjoyed going around the factory, but once Team Rocket told them to take out all their [[Poké Ball]]s because Team Rocket said that they always check if Poké Balls have trouble or not free of charge. Because Ash's Pikachu doesn't like to stay in the ball, Pikachu entered a special case. Ash passed James Pikachu's Poké Ball.

After passing all the balls, Team Rocket invited them to one room. [[James]] said that they can experience how the inside of the Poké Balls in the room.

However, Ash and his friends were shut in the room and Team Rocket revealed real nature. However, Pikachu soon broke the case, and was going to ran away. Therefore, Team Rocket decided to attack Pikachu and make Pikachu into the ball. They attached Pikachu, and [[Meowth (Team Rocket)|Meowth]] pointed the ball to Pikachu. Team Rocket assumed themselves to capture Pikachu and ran away.

Can Ash really help his Pikachu? Can they save the occupied factory from Team Rocket?

Prior to ''[[XY064|Battling with Elegance and a Big Smile!]]'', Sawyer was living in the [[Hoenn]] [[region]]. He went to [[Professor Birch]]'s lab to get his {{pkmn2|starter|first Pokémon}} and chose {{p|Treecko}} out of the three choices. With Treecko, he battled a {{pkmn2|wild}} {{p|Taillow}} and later met the [[Hoenn League]] [[Pokémon Champion]], {{Steven}}, along with his {{TP|Steven|Metagross}}. At some point, he traveled from Hoenn to [[Kalos]].

Sawyer made his first onscreen appearance in ''[[XY064|Battling with Elegance and a Big Smile!]]'', where he had a [[Gym]] {{pkmn|battle}} at the [[Lumiose Gym]] against {{an|Clemont}}, who was training for his battle against {{Ash}}. His Treecko was easily defeated by {{TP|Clemont|Luxray}}'s {{m|Wild Charge}} despite the type-advantage. After losing, he wrote down Clemont's advice regarding the timing of Treecko's moves.

He appeared again in ''[[XY073|A Fashionable Battle!]]''. He wanted to challenge the [[Laverre Gym]], only to hear it was closed. Right at that moment {{Ash}} arrived, as he wanted to challenge the Gym as well. Sawyer reunited with Clemont and introduced himself to Ash, {{an|Bonnie}} and {{an|Serena}}. Soon after, he had a [[Double Battle]] against Ash, which was postponed when they noticed a fashion show going on. He was later picked by one of the [[Gym]]'s {{tc|Furisode Girl}}s, [[Linnea]], to battle [[Valerie]] as part of the fashion show. He used his {{p|Bagon}} against Valerie's {{p|Spritzee}}, but was quickly defeated.

He appeared in ''[[XY074|Fairy-Type Trickery!]]'', where he and his Treecko watched Ash's Gym battle against Valerie together.

==Gameplay==

Pokémon Trozei! is a variation of {{smw|Yoshi's Cookie}}-style gameplay. The blocks are symbols shaped like various Pokémon. These blocks fall from the top screen down to the bottom screen (assuming that the bottom screen is not full, in which case they will stack up in the top screen). The symbols will disappear when four of the same symbol are in a row. Symbols can be swapped by moving a row or column up, down, left, or right with the stylus.

To get a Trozei, four of the same Pokémon must be lined up in a row. {{p|Ditto}} works as a 'wild card' Pokémon that can match up with anything and appears when five symbols are Trozeied at once. Trozeis can only be made on the bottom screen. If there is a match up on the top screen, the symbols must fall to the bottom screen before the Trozei will go off. Once the group of four has been matched up (either horizontally or vertically), they will leave the screen. The bottom screen's background will then turn green and allow a Trozei Chance, when there is a short amount of time where three Pokémon can be matched. This continues again with a pair of matched Pokémon, and also allows new combinations like L and T shapes, or even huge chunks of Pokémon to be Trozeied simultaneously. This lasts for as long as matches can be pulled together, though the time limit on the Trozei Chance gets smaller and smaller as the game continues.

If every Pokémon on screen happens to get Trozeied, a 10,000 point bonus Trozei All will be attained.

==Plot==

The story of Pokémon Trozei is based on the adventures of [[Lucy Fleetfoot]]. Lucy is working under [[Professor P]], who is the top agent of [[Secret Operation League|SOL]]. SOL is represented by a {{p|Solrock}}, while the Phobos Battalion is represented by a {{p|Lunatone}}.

She is contacted by the Professor to her briefing. She is to infiltrate the [[Secret Storage]] locations of the Phobos Battalion. There, she shall recover the stolen Pokémon in their [[Poké Ball]]s. However there are countless Poké Balls at every location. Luckily they had prepared a new device, which she would find useful. The device is called a [[Trozei Beamer]]. She takes the item and accepts her mission.

Lucy then goes to a nearby Lab where she practices with the Trozei Beamer. After mastering its techniques, she starts her mission of getting the Pokémon back.

Professor P calls her and tells her that he has found a Secret Storage. She sneaks into it and uses the Trozei Beamer to beam them to base. She repeats this at another base, and then Professor P calls her again.

The [[SOL Satellite]] has picked up signals of one of the [[Phobos Mobiles]]. Its name is the [[Phobos Mobile No.1: Phobos Train|Phobos Train]].

Lucy sneaks onboard and starts to beam the Poké Balls, when General Buzz, the leader of the Phobos Train, catches her. This is a Boss Battle. General Buzz drops Jammer Balls into spaces where Pokémon should be. He can also make "Trozei Left" all the way up to 50 if it is below 10 and he is not stunned. His last special ability is to make the screen dark, which makes all of the Pokémon turn into silhouettes for a while.

Pokémon Trozei! has a story mode, which follows [[Lucy Fleetfoot]] as she attempts to take down the [[Phobos Battalion]].

Gameplay is similar to the other modes, and Lucy must win at games of Trozei to defeat the generals of the Phobos Battalion.

Beating the Story Mode unlocks Trozei Hard Adventure. Beating Trozei Hard Adventure will unlock Forever Mode, which has a bigger grid and requires five matched Pokémon to make a Trozei. The time for a Trozei chance is also greatly reduced.

===Endless Mode===
As the name suggests, this mode continues until the play area is completely filled with pieces where the goal is to beat your best score. Whenever a player starts this mode, they have the option to choose a level. If the player chooses a higher level, they will receive a large sum of bonus points. The higher the level, more Pokémon will appear, and higher bonuses will be attained. Also, certain Pokémon can only be obtained here, although these can also be found in Pair Trozei, Forever Mode, and Mr. Who's. It is divided into many levels. The player can start on any level which is a multiple of 5 that he or she has cleared already, and before reaching level 25, he or she can start from 1, 5, 10, 15 or 20. The maximum level is greater than 98. The player completes a level when he or she clears the necessary amount of Pokémon. When the level changes, the common and the rare Pokémon also change. Soon after the level has changed, Pokémon which appear are a little, and as you get Trozei more and more, Pokémon will appear faster.

===Forever Mode===
Forever Mode is unlocked when the Phobosphere is beaten on hard mode. In this mode, the grid in which Pokémon are Trozeid is 5 squares by 7 squares. In order to do a basic Trozei, 5 Pokémon must be lined up instead of the usual 4, and in order to continue the Trozei chance, 4 Pokémon must be Trozeid, and then 3, before being able to Trozei 2 Pokémon. Trozeies also occur twice as quickly.

===Battle Mode===
Two players can compete against one another over the DS's Wireless Connection. When one player makes a Trozei, the Pokémon Trozeid will drop onto the opponent's field.

===Pair Mode===
Two players can cooperate via the DS's Wireless Connection in an attempt to beat the high score.

===Agent Café===
The [[Agent Café]] houses the Agent Card collection, the player's personal Agent Card, and Espionage mode. Agent Cards are saved in the Agent Café's collection whenever two owners of Trozei! communicate and play together. The player's Agent Card can be personalized with gender, name, birthdate, and phrase. The player may also access a Phobos Battalion storage with a special rare Pokémon from their Agent Card; the Pokémon is randomly assigned to each player of Trozei!.

====Espionage====
Espionage mode is the way two players of Trozei! may communicate. Espionage mode allows players to link for Pair or Battle modes.

==Pokédex==
Pokémon Trozei! has a side mission of completing the National Pokédex. To get a Pokémon's entry, the player must do a combination with their symbol in Adventure Mode, and then send them back to Professor P.

[[Legendary Pokémon]] are very rare, but there is a way to make finding them easier. By using Espionage Mode, it is possible to link up with a player who has seen a Pokémon missing from the first player's Pokédex. Professor P will then say that the Phobos Battalion has the Pokémon in the same place that the second player found it, and the Pokémon can now be found. Each player is assigned a rare Pokémon on their Agent Card. However, this cannot be changed, making it extremely difficult to find legendary Pokémon. This mode however, is deactivated once the console reaches a low battery level.

Another way to find rare Pokémon is to challenge [[Mr. Who]], a collector who collects Poké Balls that fall out of the Phobos Battalion's planes. For prize coins, the player can challenge him. The main difference is that there are seven columns rather than five, allowing for more possible combinations. Some Pokémon can only be found by doing well against Mr. Who, such as some legendary Pokémon.

I'm not sure if this is allowed but I got one of the names, Senpai, [http://jb2448.info/var/resizes/How_I_Became_a_Pokemon_Card/RAWs/Volume_4/PCNNW_V4_093.jpg here], and the other ones that turned out to be Japanese words according to Tiddlywinks from the pages related to the link. Feel free to remove the link if its not allowed. Ataro did the right thing when he contacted you even though the way it was worded signified that I continued after being told beforehand, but that wouldn't matter in this case. At least he mentioned it politely unlike another user who got told on twice due to the addition of rude remarks. I went ahead and removed the names in the HIBAPC characters template to avoid false information. Feel free to delete the pages and images. I have one question; for the moves, was it okay to add them if they were from a Japanese-only manga since I went on Bulbapedia to check what they were before adding them? ::Moves are awesome cause when they appear in manga, they're named and spelled exactly the same as in the Japanese games when they're called out. This made it extremely easy for me to identify the moves in {{OBP|Pocket Monsters Diamond & Pearl|Sakai Takayuki}} as all I had to do was check the move's page to confirm the same spelling to know that, cool, Dawn really did command Piplup to use BubbleBeam or whatever. So moves are definitely legit to keep if they were checked out in that method.

::Regarding Senpai, what I get from that is that he might not have a name (or if he does, it's somewhere in all that Japanese on the page you've shown me) as ''senpai'' is an honorific used for an upperclassman (see {{tc|Sr. and Jr.}}'s Japanese name as an example) or, in the workplace, a worker who is more senior in the company than the worker who is addressing them as ''senpai'' in the first place. (using wiki staff as a boring example, {{u|Ataro}} would theoretically address me in Japanese as ''senpai'' as I am his senior on the Bulbapedia staff, likewise, I would address him as ''kōhai'' as he is my junior). My ''guess'' is that he doesn't have a name and is referred as ''senpai'' as he is the most senior of all the scientists/researchers that appeared in that chapter. Dr. Anna's Zubat Mimi was already confirmed for being a female in appearance by wearing a ribbon and in name. Brock's imagination had Mimi and his pre-evolved Zubat in a wedding dress (Mimi) and a (pre-evolved Zubat) tuxedo, which also represented Anna and himself. He even had Pikachu, who's gender wasn't exactly classified to most people until the DP era came, wear a bow tie to classify his gender, Togepi too.

Apparently, some of them have gender differences so the ones that have a completely different appearance such as the Heracross and Frillish sprites may be useful for uploading. :You'll have to make some edits on the mainspace to have a chance to create a userspace. The amount is unknown to be exact. Oh good, hopefully you can fix some of the Japanese stuff as mainspace edits to get started (i.e. manga only released in Japan) seeing that it's your language.
