So this is a one-volume series... and Chuang Yi seems to think that it was going to have multiple volumes? I can clearly see the "volume 1" circle on the cover. This is kinda confusing. {{unsigned|1337doom}}

==History==
Gyara debuts in the {{chap|Red, Green & Blue}} in his own round, ''[[PS006|Gyarados Splashes In!]]''. He attacks his original trainer, [[Misty]], but is recaptured by {{adv|Red}}, who returns him to her. Later on it is revealed that the drastic change in his attitude was the result of a [[Team Rocket]] experiment as is shown in ''[[PS007|Raging Rhydon]]'', where [[Koga]] shamelessly remarks, "Hmm? How should we know of every Pokémon we experiment on?", earning Misty's rage.

In ''[[PS025|You know... Articuno!]]'' Misty trades this Gyarados to Red in exchange for Red's {{p|Krabby}} (although it was originally considered "borrowing" they have not traded the pokemon back) since he already knew {{m|Surf}}, and the HM03 Red found was destroyed by a wild {{p|Dragonite}} that Gyara defeats. Although Red was happy to have obtained him, because of his earlier ferocity he was isolated by Red's other Pokémon. When they ran into Team Rocket again, Gyara was forced to relive some painful memories of his painful experimentation. Red had his other Pokémon help him through that traumatic experience and after that he was broken into the group and now Red's other Pokémon trust him more. Although one of the powerhouses of his team, he was unused in his siege with the Team Rocket executives in [[Saffron City]] and the Pokémon League, where {{adv|Blue}} anticipated his usage, but instead [[Poli]] was used for the Lightning Rod strategy to work. He was however utilized earlier in the fight against {{Adv|Mewtwo}} that led to its capture (where the {{DL|Poké Ball|Great Ball}} used by Misty to contain it was blown away, and instead a normal Poké Ball was used to recover it), and nearly defeated {{OP|Bruno|Onix}} {{p|Onix}} in battle before being defeated with {{DL|Red (Adventures)|Lax}} and [[Saur]] when [[Agatha]] and [[Lorelei]] arrive and team up with the mind-controlled [[Bruno]].

In the {{chap|Gold, Silver, & Crystal}}, he was lent to {{adv|Blue}} by Red, who remarks that it isn't fair to just take his {{TP|Blue|Charizard}} without a trade, and he is used as one of his team members in the mock Pokémon League, though not to fight his old mentor [[Chuck]]. By the {{chap|FireRed and LeafGreen}}, he has since been returned to Red, and he uses it in his Double Battle against his old rival, where he fires a devastating {{m|Hyper Beam}} before being paralyzed by {{p|Porygon2}}'s {{m|Tri Attack}}. He is critically wounded shielding Red from {{Adv|Deoxys}}'s {{m|Psycho Boost}} attack with his teammates, but participates in the chase for the unstable {{p|Forretress}} [[Carr]] left behind before they blow up the airship they were riding on with their combined {{m|Explosion}}.
