From left to right: Victor, Vicky, Victoria and in the bottom Vivi
The Winstrate family (Japanese: カチヌキファミリー Kachinuki family) are a family of five who are obsessed with Pokémon battles and battling. The family consists of father Victor, mother Victoria, daughter Vivi, son Vito, and grandmother Vicky. The Winstrates live in a house on Route 111, north of Mauville City. Vito isn't at home, however, as he has left to challenge the Pokémon League.
Their surname is a pun on the phrase "straight win(s)", while all their given names play on "victory". Their Japanese surname, Kachinuki, is a play on 勝ち抜く kachinuku, to win through, which is exactly what the player must do to obtain a prize from them.
In the games
Winstrate (Japanese: カチヌキさんち Kachinuki Family) is a type of Pokémon Trainer that first debuted in the Generation III games. It refers to members of the Winstrate family, who are found in Pokémon Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald. Unlike most Trainer classes, there is no determined sprite, and each of the Winstrates have the sprite of that of a different Trainer class. The Winstrates challenge passing Trainers to a string of successive Pokémon battles. If they can be defeated, they will yield the Macho Brace they use to toughen up their Pokémon.
According to Vivi, Vito was the best Trainer, followed by Grandma Vicky, herself, her mother, and her father. Vito can be battled on the bottom floor of Victory Road in between two waterfalls near the end of the game, while the other members of the Winstrate family can be found at the southern half of Route 111.

In the anime
In the episode Candid Camerupt, Ash, May, Brock, and Max were saved from the desert by the Winstrate Family. After giving them a tour of their house and yard, they decide to challenge them to a 4 on 4 battle. First, Brock battles against Victor. Brock's Mudkip is defeated by Victor's Zigzagoon as it knows Thunderbolt, a practical source of electricity.
Next, May, who uses Beautifly, fights against Victoria and her Roselia. May wins this round by using a strategy similar to that of the one she used against Drew and his Roselia in the Slateport Pokémon Contest.
In the next round, Max borrows Ash's Corphish to fight against Vivi and her Marill. Corphish defeats Marill, giving Max the win, but it is a hollow victory, as he had a crush on Vivi and she now shows no interest in him.
For the final round, Ash and Pikachu go up against Vicky and Camerupt. Team Rocket and the other Winstrate, Vito, interfere with the battle, but Vito eventually stops helping Team Rocket to save his family. The match between Pikachu and Camerupt comes to a draw, and Ash and co. go on their way.

Trivia
- The way that the player beats the Winstrate family is a lot like how the player beats the Elite Four.
- Vivi is depicted as a Lass in the games, putting her age somewhere in the teens, but in the show, she is depicted as a child.
- Apparently, the German, Italian and Spanish translations of Ruby, Sapphire and Emerald didn't catch on Vito's relationship to the Winstrate family, as he's given a name that breaks from the family naming pattern in all of them.
