Hey! (:

Why do you think this is true? Do you have any proofs? I'd help walking through routes 121 and 123 for like months (I wouldn't get bored) but I don't have an early version of the game!! It would be great if I could confirm this glitch... but I can't! Hey if you have the game you should be checking this. I guess you are becuase you believe this is real :P. Good luck! I already know that the glitch is true, I caught a Celebi in my Sapphire years ago. Missingno. Master says: The Celebi Glitch is real!(talk page) 18:42, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
Oh wow! Good for you then...YukitoOoO 18:46, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

If it isn't working your copy probably isn't old enough.--Mtn otter 17:07, 13 August 2009 (UTC)

Proof???

Can you provide a photo of this Celebi you caught, it wouldn't 100% prove the theory right as the Celebi could be hacked but it would help support your ideas! Prof. Pine 21:27, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

A photo, you say. Alright, I'll see what I can do. Missingno. Master wants YOU! Join the Order of the Glitch! (my talk page) 13:18, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

1 in 268,435,456 chance?

Can you explain the 1 in 268,435,456 chance of getting Celebi through this glitch? All I got was that 268,435,456 is 2^28. Nothing else to explain this. Blueapple128 16:43, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, I'd love to see where you got that information. Being able to actually point out where in the game code this happens would be pretty good proof. HyperHacker 04:13, 16 December 2009 (UTC)
If you'd love to see where I got that information, why not check out those pretty blue lines of text near the bottom of the page? The second link, to be exact. The first one's only there to confirm that Serebii thinks this glitch is a load of crap. Missingno. Master wants YOU! Join the Order of the Glitch! (my talk page) 13:18, 4 January 2010 (UTC)

If 268,453,546 is 2^28 then it is an odd coincidence that Cyrus' grandmother lives on 228. Cyrus tried to control Dialga, another Pokémon with power over time.--Mtn otter We lie in wait...... 23:05, 2 March 2010 (UTC)

I have a way that you could confirm this

Why not send your copy over to Serebii to be looked at? They can go through the coding to confirm it

I believe that this could be possible (considering another person claimed to have gotten Swablu on a route it shouldn't be on, and a Roselia with Thick Fat, and considering that I myself have had some odd glitches on my copy of Sapphire), although if it is so rare, then it would be more of a quirk than anything -- Icalasari 02:01, 5 June 2010 (UTC)

A few questions

Hi, I don't know if you still care about this, but I just found out about this and am rather interested. There are a few things I'd like clarified about the glitch:

  • Are the early copies of the japanese release, the english release, or some other one?
  • How was the 1 in 268,435,456 chance determined? If it was done by looking into the game's coding, that seems like it would be enough to prove the glitch exists. If it wasn't from the game's code, though, how that value was decided on would be worth mentioning.
  • Also, I don't know if discussion of ROMs is permitted here, but do you think there's any chance that a ROM dump was done at some point of an affected game (which might have gone unnoticed because of how rare the glitch occurring is) and if so, if there's any chance of finding such a ROM now? --Yamiidenryuu 01:57, 26 October 2011 (UTC)
For the first one, all I know so far is that they're early copies of the English release. I'm not sure if the glitch is present in the Japanese versions. For the second one, another person figured that out, but I'm not sure how. Apparently, I'm one of the few, if not the only, researchers of this glitch that still plays Pokémon. For the third question, I have no idea because my knowledge of ROMs is next to nothing. Also, I didn't answer the questions right away because I rarely check the talk pages for my individual user pages. I generally just watch for new messages on this page here. - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talkcontribs) 18:16, 12 November 2011 (UTC)
