...you're point being..?

They're kick-ass trades simply because not everyone knows they're hacked. (That entei isn't hacked, it's Migrated from Johto)

I have more, but i'll get rid of the spiritomb one.

(BTW, i also traded for a hacked shiny mew nicknamed 'noclone4u' I was so happy... until I realised that It's OT was 'F***OFF.' - unsigned comment from Yevon (talkcontribs)

Being "migrated from Johto" is a hack, because it's normally unreachable. But if it's only hacked thing about this Entei, if his abilities, stats and moves aren't hacked, then it's OK. --Maxim 14:05, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

Correct reverting of a vandalized move

  1. If a page was moved by a vandal, the right way to revert the move is by going to the Move Log, finding the move on the list there, and clicking on the revert button.
  2. The correct capitalization of pages such as the one you moved is Casual dude, not Casual Dude.

User142 | Talk 10:23, 12 January 2006 (CST)

Only sysops have access to a revert button of any kind. - 振霖T 02:53, 13 January 2006 (CST)
Even when you're not logged in, the revert button in the Move Log is there, and if you are logged in it opens a normal revert screen with the correct name.User142 | Talk 01:34, 15 January 2006 (CST)

Seagallop

Seagallop may be seen traveling east from Vermillion City to any one of the Sevii Islands, but logic dictates that it is actually going south -- going by the map from which it is clear that east to Vermillion City is the rest of Kanto. The reason the game designers chose to make it appear that the ferry was going south was not unlike their reason for rotating the Hoenn map -- the Game Boy Advance has a horizontal-oriented screen. Unown Lord

I have better prooves of Seviis Location. 1. In the official FR/LG Kanto map you can see a Seagallop. It's on the water near Fuchsia City. And it is APPARENTLY heading east. 2. On the Orange Islands map you can see the whole Kanto & Johto mainland. And Orange Islands are DIRECT south of Kanto. There's nothing either north or south of them. These are canon prooves. Not fanon speculation like yours. --Maxim 15:38, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

But this map doesn't really show the location of these islands. They're in separated "boxes" and separated from rest of map (they aren't shown south of Kanto on this map, these are SEPARATE MAPS!). So, this map does not suggest anything --Maxim 17:42, 1 February 2007 (UTC)

Gen III Korean names

You stated on this talk page that you have the Korean names of the 3rd Gen Pokémon. Where did you find them? I'd at least like to add the hangul to the list. MK 10:49, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

Sorry. I don't have all names anymore. I lost the adress of this site and I can't find it anymore. I have some names from my Korean Pokespecial Scans but they aren't all 3 Gen Names. Just around 20. Sorry again --Maxim 12:17, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

Nevermind. I found that site This page --Again Maxim 12:23, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

Er-hem.

Try not to go completely into a rage when someone messes up a page, all right? Cool your jets, man. Caps lock is not cruise control for cool here.

Besides, although it's not canon, the stories are deeply-ingrained in some parts of the fandom. We have shipping articles, we just have to decide whether or not doujinshi has a place on Bulbapedia. It does not, of course, have a place on the game characters' pages, which you're most certainly right about.

So, really, calmly talk to people on their talk pages, okay? And don't call people annoying on their talk pages. It's really bad form, we're not trying to scare people away here. Heck, by your comments on Animehro's page, you're essentially proving that you're far from ready to ascend to the level of sysop. The guy at least used proper grammar and spelling, unlike other people I've seen. Just be cool about it, state it without accusation. Bulbapedia is a wiki; everything can be reverted. --TTEchidna 15:16, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

Okay, Okay. I know. I'm overreacting. I should better work on developing articles, not yelling at people. You're right. --Maxim 15:21, 4 March 2007 (UTC)

Just don't beat yourself up over it, either, okay? Change, but don't kill yourself doing so, like turning a car at 100 mph. --TTEchidna 02:11, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

And don't else, either. --TTEchidna 02:29, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

End of discussion. This became really boring. Well, *goes finding some pages to develop* Farewell. --Maxim 19:58, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

You have been yelling at everyone lately. Please just calm down. I'm not questioning you, simply asking you to stop being so rude and disrespectful to others. Carnivine

Final warning

If you do not want this to happen I suggest you make some adjustments to your attitude here. --Argy 03:48, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Names

Please do not delete name meanings from characters in English. You'll notice we leave the meanings of the names in Japanese up even though they have nothing to do with the character, just for the sake of interest. For instance, Hyouta's name is still listed as meaning gourd even though that really has nothing to do with rocks or a pun or anything. We should do the same for the English names as well. --Zeta 17:01, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

But isn't the REAL intention of giving the name. I think we should focus on original intentions, not meanings which don't really matter. And where are the meanings taken from? Babynames.com? They have a lot of fake meanings, and even fake names (most names listed as "Polish" don't exist, not in Poland). I never trust name services like that. --Maxim 17:09, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

Well, then why do we have the Japanese name meanings if there's no real intentions behind them, mostly - except just giving them ANY name? Do people really need to know that Pryce's Japanese name Yanagi, means "willow" - when it doesn't even relate to anything? --Zeta 17:24, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

Look, it's in the Trivia section. Don't the meanings count as trivia? Why not include it? People might find it interesting. I still find it very interesting that Brock means "badger". --Pie ~ 22:26, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

...okay then

Is there any need to scream?--Loveはドコ? (talk contribs) 18:05, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

It's not the first time I hear such thing (about games being based on manga/anime). Special is just more closer adaptation of game. Red got an Espeon in Volume 9 of manga. The Pokémon Gold & Silver games (where he had one) were released much before the manga. Just a reminder. --Maxim 18:15, 18 July 2007 (UTC)
I think Urutapu has a point, though. You have an OBNOXIOUS TENDANCY to capitalize words to make them look MORE IMPORTANT, and to give the impression that you are above other members because of the AUTHORITATIVE manner of your speaking. It is INSULTING to the other users, as if you are BOSSING THEM AROUND. Every time I see your CAPITALIZED WORDS, I am a little tempted to SLAP YOU. Please learn to calm down a bit, because treating the Bulbapedia as SERIOUS BUSINESS is not the same as editing maturely and with dignity. In fact, I feel it is the OPPOSITE. And that is the OFFICIAL word from the temp editor in chief. --Pie ~ 19:19, 18 July 2007 (UTC)

Hebrew names

Okay look: The Hebrew names may be just transliteration, but they are OFFICIAL. Not fannon. Pokémon is (naturally) dubbed in Hebrew, and while the names aren't changed from English, they are spoken in Hebrew. They exist. Who are you to say they matter less then in any other language??? The name I listed there is accurate, and not the same as the one that was listed there before. Why does it bother you that it was there? You're being rude for no reason at all. --ElectAbuzzzz 14:38, 19 July 2007 (UTC)

And what? It's just an anime dub. So, writing versions don't exist. The names are pronounced the same way, because they're still the same names. It's NOT our policy to post the same names in all possible alphabets. We can add Greek, Arabic, Esperanto or whatever, but it'll be still the same, but transliterated to other alphabet. So, it's completely pointless! Additionally, many of these Hebrew and Russian "translations" are inaccurate (like Фоэб for Phoebe). And how the hell can character like Hoenn E4 (except Drake) or Janine have Russian and Hebrew names, as they never appeared in the anime. It's unlogical to me. Where's no games, there's no stable translations. Remember that for your life. Transliterating the same name too 100 other languages is NOT our policy on names, KYAPISU? --Maxim 16:13, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
I didn't add the ones that weren't on the anime, and I agree adding them is wrong. But the characters that DO appear in the anime, like Archie, should have the name listed. Why does it bother you? It's just an extra trivia thing. I don't know Russian so I don't know (or care much) if Phoebe's name is listed weong in Russian. But Hebrew is my first language and I know how to spell names of characters that appeared in the anime. The name I fixed on Archie's page if right (before it was "Arki" for some reason). Last I checked, you don't decide what's the policy here, and I don't see and sysop siding with you on this. It may not be important, but it shouldn't BOTHER you either. Just let it be. And stop "KYAPISU?"ing everyone. You're not above anyone here. --ElectAbuzzzz 16:49, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
Ya rly. Stop trying to do my job. Our general policy is that if there's a reliable canon source for the information (like, say, the anime and a native speaker collecting info from it), it's relevant information, even if it's only going to be in the Trivia section of the article. But that's not what bugs me so much about this situation; it's your attitude, Maxim. The more you boss people around like you're on the editorial board around here, the less likely you'll ever be on that board. And stop ripping off my "capisce" with your Itarian mockery. Capisce? --Pie ~ 18:35, 19 July 2007 (UTC)
So, where are the written version from? It's a DUB. Pronounciation is the same, there aren't any notable changes in the names. I still think it's pointless. --Maxim 08:13, 20 July 2007 (UTC)

French Names

Oh, the tricks of the trade!! :P I'm joking... I went to Pokémon Trash seeking for news and I red this passage in the comments for the last news: sur pokebase il y a le noms des champions dont ma preferer Gladys la championne de type glace ensuite tanguy type electrik flo type plante melina type combat kimera type spectre et charles type acier pierick type roche que nous connaissons il ne reste que celui avec les pokemon eau ensuite pour le conseil des 4 c'est dans l'ordre aaron terry adrien lucio et cynthia voila. So I went to www.Pokemonbase.net on so the story ends... Do you think they are reliable? --Siegfried 10:06, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

I usually don't trust random guys. They can stay in article for now. We must wait for their confirmation/denial. Furthermore, where did you get Dawn's Italian name? According to my sources it's Aurora not Alba. --Maxim 11:31, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Nevermind, actually. These names are now confirmed. --Maxim 12:35, 23 July 2007 (UTC)

Polish names

I don't understand why did you delete Polish names of locations from this list. Despite of fact that they are from anime they are still Polish names. --Unsigned comment from Daru

Heh. Anime doesn't cover all locations and Polish dub did go only up to Advanced (you perfectly know it). Since Johto all names were the same as English. So, I didn't see the point of putting them. And sign your comments, please. --Maxim 18:50, 31 July 2007 (UTC)

You must be joking

Hi, Maxim. While suffering from insomnia at this horrid hour, I had the pleasure of a nice chat with a friend of yours. I'm not certain where you got the impression that you're the most important person on Bulbapedia, but I would like to make sure you know you're mistaken. Please be more careful with what you tell other people in the future. Lies beget no glory. --Pie ~ 08:58, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

I told him to say so. But I'm not sure what else were you talking about me. Is he a loyal friend? --Maxim 09:04, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
Mostly, we were discussing some of the frustrations with working on wikis. We agreed rather firmly that you were a pain in the butt, but despite that, he said he was your friend. Personally, I'd wonder if you are a loyal friend, given that you've outright refused to work on the Polish wiki, even though your friend wishes for your help far more than anyone here ever has. --Pie ~ 16:58, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
I never OFFICIALLY refused to work there. I was just a bit lazy. I actually made some bigger articles on Nezka. I'm leaving tomorrow for two-weeks-long vacation. I'm going to do some work after I return home. --Maxim 17:11, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Why?

I didn't realize until later that it was fanfiction. --Shiny Noctowl 16:16, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

COOL IT...

I saw you screaming, "SHUT UP, STUPID FOOL" at another user and thought I'd let you know that it's not tolerated. Especially over something as minor as a Korean Name. If you feel that you can't work something out diplomatically, contact an administrator. -Politoed666 21:00, 14 September 2007 (UTC)

About a mistake

If someone made a mistake here in editing, I think it is important to know that you need to just take it in. If it's a mistake, fine. Fix it the way you know, and remind that person in a kind way. In my case, I just thought Morty's name was 'Masol' because I have some books and it is mentioned that way. (Not in only one book but at least two books.) I do appreciate your concern in Korean names here (even I admit it is a rather minor issue in this site, though I am a Korean myself), but seriously, your comment against me is rather offending. I hope you'll make your comments a bit nicer next time. --Rhm2768 04:41, 17 September 2007 (UTC)

Melissa

I watched the original episode. Melissa had a MALE voice. Therefore I'am assuming that he's male. You hate the dub right? It shouldn't suprise you that they would do something like that. Effeminate males are not uncommon in the anime. Personally I think he looks more male than female. --ケンジガール 01:39, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

Here are the names...

- Cities
Ever Grande City : 그랜드 도시 (Grand Dosi. Grand is directly taken from its original name while dosi means 'city')
Lilycove City : 해안 도시 (해안 means 'seaside')
I couldn't find Pacifidlog Town yet...I wonder if it is even mentioned in the manga...anyway, later...

Wanda's Korean Name is 미진, and her boyfriend's name is 용치.
Scott's Korean Name wasn't mentioned, but indeed he made an appearance.
Celio's is 서유석 (Seo Yu Seok)
Lanette's is 마유미 (Ma Yu Mi)
Bridgette's is 아름이 (Ah Reum Eee).

Credit please if planning to update them here... Well, just asking. ^^;;; --Rhm2768 08:58, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

Pacifidlog City might not appear in Volumes 15-20, though I doubt it. Thanks for names. But how can I give you credit? I can do it only in edit summary, not in article. --Maxim 14:08, 17 October 2007 (UTC)

Cześć! I saw that name listed in a chinese site showing the name corrispondences from Bulbasaur to Jirachi, but it was a long time ago and unfortunately I can't find it anymore. However, if you google 圈圈兔, you'll find some references (it seems to be usually listed with the taiwanese translations, but I'm not exactly sure about its consistency). Feel free to erase it if you think it's not worthy. (n.b.: I'm taking this opportunity to thank you for your contribution to the korean section of the list of characters in other languages...) Siegfried 16:26, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

No, I'll keep it. I think it comes from Mainland China Translations. Look, this Chinese forums have the Chinese names of all Pokémon. The leftmost ones (except Japanese) are Hong Kongese Translations, the third ones from left are Taiwanese Translations. The forth and fifth ones are Mainland China Translations (two versions). However, I have no single clue what are the second ones (from left). I also don't know what specific regions are these Mainland translations from (the China Mainland is huge, you know). Due to that, I don't post Chinese Translations on the pedia. I'm not very certain about them. If I lived in China, I would propably know more. --Maxim 16:40, 1 November 2007 (UTC)

FR/LG Manga Names

Why did you remove the titles for the rounds of that part of the manga? If there are no official English names for the rounds, Chuang Yi or otherwise, then the best course of action is to use the best possible translation of the Japanese round names, not to use no names for the rounds. And unless someone can come up with better translations, Coronis's are the best we've got.

Quoth the manual of style under Episode numbering (a section designed for the anime, but I assume is no less important for the manga), "If no English title is available, the best possible translation should be used." --Shiningpikablu252 15:18, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

梧葉

Hey! I found it in a chinese site (very similar to our Bulbapedia) listing the DP episodes. Actually, today I can’t load it, but you can just type PokéWikiChinese in Google to find it. I extrapolated it from the chinese name of the episode he appear in. I can’t read Chinese but I hope I caught the right one (it’s not that difficult if you recognize the “X vs Y” pattern). It seemed trustworthy to me because, in Japanese, 梧 is go in 葉 is . I also took Gardenia’s name from the same page. As usual, if you think it’s not reliable, feel free to erase it. By the way, in the same site, Lt. Surge has a different Chinese name from the ones listed in his page on Bulbapedia. Capisci? :-) --Siegfried 15:29, 10 January 2008 (UTC)

There's a user who's put this article up for deletion because "it doesn't deserve its own page", despite the fact that the page is most definitely improvable. Now, I know you disagree with the term (it's a fanon term used to refer to Team Rocket under Mask of Ice in Pokémon Special), but since you know more about Pokémon Special than I do, do you have any ideas on how this article can be improved, even if it means turning it into a redirect? Keep in mind that, being a fanon term, it's already in the "fanon terminology" category, and that's probably far from the only thing in that category that you disagree with...--Shiningpikablu252 17:47, 16 May 2008 (UTC)
