I also enjoy having pages link directly to the intended article, rather than going through a redirect, so I'm taking care of the redirect links for the games, as you'll see in the recent changes. Just thought I'd let you know. :D --ニョロトノ666 01:54, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

Lol funny Politoed Anyway, something is sent Pokemaniac102 01:54, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
I did notice that, Politoed, and I'd like to commend you for being so diligent about it. I'd like to do more to help this site, but I do have to allot time for other things--like inducting juniors into NHS, which is why I'm leaving now. Thanks for your comments, guys. --MartonimosTalk 02:09, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
See ya...Pokemaniac102 02:11, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
Oh, and calm down about the userpage thing ^^ Just keep in check. Check yourself, your mail just incase you got something, or anything else :DPokemaniac102 02:29, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
My input on this one! Make sure that this anti-redirect measure doesn't include anime Pokémon. We don't want the link list of EP230 to say Ash hatched a Phanpy and link to Ash's Donphan, which doesn't appear for another 150 episodes... Anti-spoiler measure. TTEchidna 04:06, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
Hmm...good point. I'll keep that in mind. --Martonimos((Talk)) 04:26, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

hows about Tri Attack (Tri-Attack)? -- MAGNEDETH 22:48, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing that out. Only one page in the main space linked there, so I just took care of it. --Martonimos((Talk)) 23:04, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

I've also done some redirects, although I am creating them rather than relinking what goes to them, and a recommendation: when you look for redirects, look often at misspellings of common terms (Pokémon Ranger Battonage is one I made like this) as they are easiest to mislink to. As I have little info to contribute, I will try to help you out. Theininen 01:07, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Make sure to check at least every month. For example, there are two articles now which are linking to the tri-attack relink page.
And Lock On should be in your list. MathijsP 08:02, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
Ugh. You're right. I'll start adding pages I've done already to the list as well. I found a "Lock On" on the Legendary golems page (even though I KNOW I did Lock-On already!), so that's on the list also. I'll go through my contribs later and find any others... but it's just past midnight now, so I'm gonna wrap up and go to bed. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 08:17, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
I live in The Netherlands and its morning here so I'm going to work on this. MathijsP 08:19, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
Well, I guess I appreciate the help. And... sorry for yelling at you about the Raichu mess. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 08:22, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
Thank you. I've did Mud-Slap. MathijsP 09:15, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

Should I add Pokémon trainer though not being a move? MathijsP 10:12, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

And ive done AncientPower as well. MathijsP 12:39, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
There were two links to Poison Sting which I have fixed. MathijsP 14:44, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
PoisonPowder was a bit more work but also done. MathijsP 15:11, 19 June 2008 (UTC)

I'm only really concerned about the main namespace; I may get around to the others eventually, but probably not. What's more, the list of links to disambiguating pages should remain intact, or at least all the Pokémon on it should, for the same reason we use link templates. If, someday, a random trainer showed up with an Azumarill, and the poor saps who watch the anime decided it was worth it to make a page about it, we'd have a disambiguation page not linked to from that list. So leave that alone, at least for now. What we can do is check each disambig page on the site, and see if anything links to those; if so, they need to be redirected to whichever article is most appropriate. OF course, that would be an incredible pain and take forever, but hey, so is the rest of this project. And we certainly don't have to do it all at once. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 07:51, 21 June 2008 (UTC)

  1. Are we sure it's Conversion 2? Because I've seen just as many sources that spell it as Conversion2. (Answered)
  2. Nidoran (Pokémon) redirects to just Nidoran, since the disambig page covers both genders. So I think I should replace all instances of {{p|Nidoran}} with [[Nidoran]]. But of course, the use of link templates is official policy, so I'm not sure that's a good idea... what do you guys think? Maybe we should move the disambig page to Nidoran (Pokémon), just to make things easier. (Answered)

Answers plz. --Martonimos((Talk)) 21:35, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Try this: {{p|Nidoran♂}} and {{p|Nidoran♀}}. ♂ and ♀ symbols on the character bar @ the bottom of the page. Theininen 01:13, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
Erm. I actually already did the few links there were. The problem was that the context of the links didn't mention the gender of the Nidoran, so the links lead to just Nidoran (Pokémon), because they still used the {{p}} template. I replaced, like, three of them (on pages Lucky Lucky and List of Pokémon with gender differences). There's one left, on Shū, but that Nidoran actually has a gender, we just don't know what it is, so I'm waiting until we figure it out.
Anyway, this question is no longer in effect. Thanks for your help. --Martonimos((Talk)) 01:34, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
No prob, I just thought that it would work if you hadn't thought of it. Theininen 01:38, 14 May 2008 (UTC)
  1. Should we also fix the userspace links? Theininen 14:11, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

No. Touching other people's userpages is almost always asking for trouble, even if you're only trying to help. What I'm not sure about is other namespaces, especially the Bulbapedia: one. For now, I think it's best to stick to the main namespace. That's probably the one that needs it the most anyway. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 20:46, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

one more...

You might wanrt to check out the redirects for Vending Machine cards. MoldyOrange 04:25, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

The capitalized letter that launched a thousand redirects. Sigh... --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 07:40, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

Why not use bots?

Why isn't it better to use bots to eliminate redirect links? What's more, some scripts could filter any submitted edit and replace redirect links with direct links (and, maybe, some links with templates, like [[Meowth (Team Rocket)|Meowth]] with {{MTR}}, as well). Since all the articles about anime Pokémon belong to Category:Anime_characters_(Pokémon) and its subcategories, it wouldn't be difficult to avoid spoilers. --Pokeresp 14:05, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

Fabu-Vinny brought this sort of thing up here, but Zhen Lin appeared to veto it. Besides, I don't know the first thing about 'bots (although if you think you can do it, by all means, go ahead; I'd appreciate the help). --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 21:17, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
I could try, but since I don't have direct access to the database, I'll have to work with standart user interface and this will be not that easy. --Pokeresp 22:20, 2 August 2008 (UTC)
Well, don't do anything you don't want to. Manual relinking has worked so far; no reason not to continue it. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 23:44, 2 August 2008 (UTC)

How to search

Can you put in how to search for them, as this is how I first started to find redirects. I think it is #REDIRECT (maybe Redirect, redirect, something like that) as this can allow you to find redirects and link directly to all the ones on the site. Theininen 14:06, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

Otr you could just go to Special:Randomredirect in order to find some you didn't even know existed. Don't relink any card pages though, they are linked like that on the set pages for a reason. MoldyOrange 14:15, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, we know. There are several exceptions to this relinking project. Anime Pokémon, cards, most items... We're concentrating on things like games and moves, for now, at least.
I usually go to a page (any page, really), and click on the "what links here." If there are any redirects, it ways so next to them, so I search the page for "redir." If I find any redirects with links to them I click on the "links" link next to it, which provides me with a list of everything that links to that redirect. I just work down that list.
That special page ought to come in handy, Moldy. You crazy admins with your crazy knowledge of the inner workings of a wiki. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 20:44, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
Easier one I just found: Special:ListRedirects. I'm using it to do things right now. (P.S. Should we fix redirects on userpages? It would take longer and wouldn't do much, and they might get PO'ed) Theininen 02:30, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
Also, could someone fix the "Ash" link on the page for Ash's Chimchar to "Ash Ketchum"? It's protected, and I can't get to it. Theininen 02:34, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
Nice. Thanks.
You already asked that userpage question a few sections ago, and I already said "no." Other namespaces are a little more iffy.
And don't worry about Ash's Chimchar. I've got that page watched (as well as Dragon Trio, which has quite a few misspellings in it), so I can get to it as soon as it's unprotected. Of course, if one of our admin friends were to beat me to it, I wouldn't complain much, either. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 05:28, 16 August 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, I was kind of hoping one of the admins would notice this and fix it. And sorry about the repeated question. And I fixed a STAB relink on a Bulba namespace, but it should be fine (I hope). Theininen 15:30, 17 August 2008 (UTC)

is done. ;) - s.Combusken 21:15, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

Vielen Dank, mein Freund. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 21:24, 10 August 2008 (UTC)
I don't know what that's supposed to mean, but I'm guessing it's something along the lines of "Thank you, my friend," since the words sound similar to that. So you're welcome! - s.Combusken 21:26, 10 August 2008 (UTC)

"Previously handled"

don't say that, as someone might take that as "doesn't need to be worried about", but at the rate of bulba's expansion, things can be linked to minutes after you finish fixing them. (p.s., see if an admin could notice this and make it an official & noticeable project on bulba) Theininen 23:37, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

Previously handled is better because it means they are done for the time being...they can be checked sometimes if need be. MoldyOrange 14:16, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

Ninetales is misspelled a lot and has a redirect for the misspelling. People spell it as Ninetails, and it shouldn't have links to it ever...just another one to add to the list. MoldyOrange 14:21, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

you might also want to check the redirects on this one. MoldyOrange 19:16, 29 August 2008 (UTC)

SolarBeam, SmokeScreen, and ThunderShock

They are done. I replaced the links on all of them except for the TCG ones like Moldy orange said.--PsychicRider 05:10, 7 September 2008 (UTC)

Golduck + Ninetales

All links to "Golduck (Orange Islands)" have been changed to Golduck (anime), except for one talk page, and I shouldn't edit someone's talk page comments. Also, there are no links to "Ninetails (Pokémon)" except for some links on various user pages, but I shouldn't edit those either. - s.Combusken 22:51, 14 September 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, I think we ought to limit ourselves to the Main and Template namespaces with this project. Ho-Oh and Ninetales only had a few links when I added them, so I took care of them then; I just haven't gotten around to moving them yet. Thank you. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 06:14, 15 September 2008 (UTC)

Just so you know, I went through the whole list again and changed ones that were incorrect, with different methods of spellings. They should all link to the correct move name. --PsychicRider 14:05, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, I went through the pages and updated them. Sorry about not making it clearer. --PsychicRider 21:10, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Please change this

Special:WhatLinksHere/Mystery_Part_and_Secret_Slab MathijsP 09:54, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

Evolution, Pokémon trainer and Caught Pokémon

All three have been taken care of. I'm working on the Orange Archipelago ones now. Good project. --rockersk08 00:01, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

Pokémon trainer, I just truely took care of. A great project, this is. CuboneKing (Planet CuboneBone Club) 20:08, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 2, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 1, and Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 3 should be added to the list. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 20:11, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
I was getting to that next. CuboneKing (Planet CuboneBone Club) 20:12, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
It'll be really hard because most of the links are from the side game template (therefore putting it on every Pokémon page) Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 20:15, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

Poké Ball, NeverMeltIce, BlackGlasses, Black Belt, etc.

Held items. Massive redirects. ht14 20:16, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

Martonimos hasn't been active for awhile, so you should add them yourself. CuboneKing (Planet CuboneBone Club) 20:17, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
Good idea, but it's rather messy and I don't want to mess it up... ht14 23:21, 6 December 2009 (UTC)

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon 2 (anime)

That needs to be worked on. CuboneKing (Planet CuboneBone Club) 17:22, 21 December 2009 (UTC)

Done. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 19:34, 21 December 2009 (UTC)
