Welcome to Bulbapedia, Frenchhorn!

By creating your account you are now able to edit pages, join discussions, and expand the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia. Before you jump in, here are some ground rules:

  • Be nice to everyone. It's in the code of conduct.
  • Make good edits. Preview them before you save to make sure they're perfect the first time around.
  • Use wikicode and link templates when adding content to a page.
  • Use proper grammar and spelling, and read the manual of style.
  • You can't create a userpage until you've added to the encyclopedia. It's a privilege. See the userspace policy.
  • Use talk pages to resolve editing disputes. Don't "edit war," or constantly re-edit/undo the same thing on a page.
  • If you have a question about something, be proactive. Ask for help. The staff won't bite.
  • Sign all talk page posts with four tildes (~~~~). This will turn into your name and the time you wrote the comment.
  • For more handy links, see the welcome portal.
Thank you, and have a good time editing here!

Userspace limits

Hi. I noticed you have been editing the User: namespace a lot recently. Please don't do it any more, though. Bulbapedia's Userspace policy restricts the amount you can edit your userpage: no more than one edit per day. This policy was instated to prevent strain on our server, and also to promote people helping out in the mainspace. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, after all, so help us out by contributing to some articles before coming back to your personal userpage. The more often you edit in the mainspace, the more you will be allowed to edit your userpage. Thanks! --Den Zen 20:36, 22 July 2011 (UTC)

I was aware of this policy. What I wasn't aware of was that previewing an edit before actually saving it fell under this same category. As of today I had decided to make my own userspace page. I had to preview what my changes were going to look like a whole lot because I had no idea how to make a userspace beyond simply typing text. I looked for a how-to page and couldn't find one, so I had to try and do it myself. I offer my apologies if this caused any distress and will try to limit my activity from here out. Userspace limits

Hi. I noticed you have been editing the User: namespace a lot recently. Please don't do it any more, though. Bulbapedia's Userspace policy restricts the amount you can edit your userpage: no more than three edits per day and make sure you contribute to our mainspace more than your userspace. This policy was instated to prevent promote people helping out in the mainspace, and also to control strain on our server. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, after all, so help us out by contributing to some articles before coming back to your personal userpage. The more often you edit in the mainspace, the more you will be allowed to edit your userpage. Thanks! --Masatoshitalk 20:46, 18 December 2011 (UTC)

I'm confused. I've edited the mainspace a lot more than I edited my userspace today. I added pictures to two articles in need of a photo and made other various contributions throughout the mystery dungeon section of the wiki. I knew you could only make 3 edits per day, but I also thought I read that if you have one mainspace edit for every userspace edit after the first 3 you could edit your userspace more than 3 times. I thought I was following all the rules. What did I do wrong? Frenchhorn 20:54, 18 December 2011 (UTC)

(Don't forget to indent) I know you have done a lot of mainspace edits today, but the limit is still three userspace edits per day, with at least one edit more in the mainspace. We have no problem with you editing twice in the userpage, as long as you have edited three times in the mainspace, if you edit your userpage for the third time, you should have four mainspace edits, that's the policy right now. The Preview Button

Instead of editing a page several times in a row, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. It's right next to the Save Changes button... Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Thanks! --Masatoshitalk 23:51, 19 December 2011 (UTC)

Signature

I noticed recently you did not sign your edit to Kenji-girl's talk page. Please be sure to sign your talk page edits by either typing four tildes ~~~~ or the timestamp button. That way we can identify the user of the post easier. Thank you. サトシ 00:44, 6 January 2012 (UTC)

Please do not replace the unsigned template with your signature, this is frowned and not allowed. This also throws the timestamp off. Thank you. Truthseeker4449 02:18, 6 January 2012 (UTC)

Sorry. Didn't know. Also, I usually do sign with a signature, but I forgot. And I was not aware that you weren't supposed to replace unsigned comments with a signature if you realized after you saved that you forgot to sign. I'll try to do better next time. Does it matter if I sign it or not on my talkpage? Frenchhorn 02:23, 6 January 2012 (UTC)

You forgot it again... And yes it does matter. Truthseeker4449 02:24, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
Wait a minute Truthseeker, he did not forget it again, he signed his last reply. And btw, it is sorta common sense that if you saved it unsigned, that's final. サトシ 23:35, 6 January 2012 (UTC)
Actually, She did. Yes you're half right about if you save it unsigned it's final, but users (and the users themselves) may add the unsigned template so we can easily know who made the comment if they forgot their signature. Without it there would be a bunch of comments with no way of knowing who made them making it confusing for others. --Pokemaster97 23:40, 6 January 2012 (UTC)

Uhh...I'm a girl. Frenchhorn 00:26, 7 January 2012 (UTC)

Sorry about that :P --Pokemaster97 00:31, 7 January 2012 (UTC)
