Welcome

Welcome to Bulbapedia, Clarky13!

As a new user, you may wish to learn a few things that will be useful in your editing:

 • For a basic overview of wiki code, see this page.
 • The manual of style is very important. Make sure to read it. It outlines all official policies of Bulbapedia.
 • The word Pokémon is spelled with a capital P and an accented é. The P, of course, is accessed easily by holding Shift and pressing the P key, while the é can be accessed using Alt + 130 or Alt + 0233 on a Windows computer, and Option + e, then e again on a Mac. Otherwise, you can click it in the character palette below the editbox.
 • The word Poké Ball is spelled as two words. The "Poké" part is identical to the four beginning letters in "Pokémon"; "Ball" is spelled with a captial B (which is, again, accessed by holding Shift and pressing the B key). The spelling "Pokéball" arises frequently, but is incorrect.
 • The word "you" and all forms of it should not be used on encyclopedic pages unless it is a quote from Pokémon or other media. Bulbapedia is an encyclopedia, not a walkthrough.
 • On talk pages, please sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).
 • The use of link templates is official policy. For an explanation on their use, see the page on shortlinks.
 • If you happen to spot a vandal in the recent changes that has not been dealt with, please see this page for how to deal with it.
 • A list of pages that are linked to, but have not been created, can be found at this page. A list of short articles that may require more information can be found here, while a list of articles that need improvement can be found here.
 • For a future capture, release, trade, or evolution of a Pokémon belonging to a main character of the anime, please do not create or move the page to reflect your suspicions, even if they are shared by many others. Policy here is to wait until the episode in which the event happens takes place is aired, unless there is substantial evidence for the suspicion (such as Brock's Happiny being held in his arms).
 • Image uploading is done on Bulbagarden Archives, a separate wiki accessible through the toolbox in the sidebar. You will have to register separately for it, as well. This is done so that both Bulbapedia and Bulbanews have access to the images uploaded.
 • If you want to make a page about a character you made up, please create it at User:Clarky13/1/(name), not merely (name). Bulbapedia's main namespace is reserved for actual, official Pokémon, items, characters, and locations. Also, please try to make sure that subpages are not categorized by templates used within.
 • Having said this, please make sure that you do contribute adequately to the main namespace. Bulbapedia is not MySpace or Facebook.
 • A list of the admins that you can contact in case of a problem, can be found here.

Thank you, and have a good time editing here! -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 08:44, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

Link Templates

Please use link templates when linking to stuff such as Pokémon names, attacks, and the like. If it's an item it'll redirect itself to this page. Thank you and happy editing!

For a full crash course on link templates, look at the shortlinks.--Boywonder01 00:21, 22 June 2008 (UTC)

Again. When you link to moves, write it out as Tackle, not just Tackle. Use of link templates is official policy, as stated in the welcome message, so you'll get in trouble if you continue to disregard them. See the list of link templates for more information. --((Marton imos)) 17:30, 3 October 2008 (UTC)
Sorry Bulbapedia, I'm trying to help.--Clarky 22:25, 3 October 2008 (UTC)

Please

Slow down on editing the User: namespace. Editing your userpage too much will lead to it being locked again. Instead of making multiple small edits, why not instead use the preview button (Alt + Shift + P) to check your edits before saving the page? Thank you. --Porygon-Z 03:57, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

I've lost it...

How do you save your log in so you don't have to press "log in" every time you come to the site. I did it before but I can't seem to do it again. It's very annoying to log in every time, so can anyone help? - Clarky13 20:44, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

There's something in the login box. It's an option saying "Remember my login on this computer." All you have to do is click the checkbox, and you don't have to log in every time. It works for me. SharKing ((Talk to the King!)) 02:48, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

Swift Empoleon

Hey. Only have time to leave you a short message, but I will anyway. Although your Swift Empoleon article is better than a lot of deck articles written by n00bs (no offense), it needs a couple tweaks. Instead of going into the problems it has, I'll simply tell you to try and model your articles after Queendom, arguably the best deck article. Oh, and consider joining Project TCG. --ニョロトノ666 00:52, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

Quick Question from Me

Say, when I go on my my preferences and I create a signature that looks like this:

<span style="color:#0000FF;">Clarky</span><span style="color:#000000;">13</span>

It should look like this:

Clarky13

But insteed, it just comes out like this:

<span style="color:#0000FF;">Clarky</span><span style="color:#000000;">13</span>

Can anyone help out, how I can get it to look like the first one -- Clarky13 08:12, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

Don't you already have that as your signature? Or are you typing that out manually every time you leave a comment?
Anyway, make sure that the "raw signatures" box is checked, otherwise it will break your coding. That's the only explanation I can think of, it all looks right to me otherwise. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 09:13, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
Oh, thanks heaps. I forget to check the raw signature. --Clarky13 09:48, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

Bug Catcher

What the eff?! A lot of the work you did on that page wasn't necessary and the grammar/spelling wasn't any better. Please try to improve your grammar, and as always, don't do any run-down sentences (ex., This is. A run down sentence.) PH1RESTRIKE 22:43, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

Re: my talk

The rules are a way of making things make more sense. Obviously there are still going to be detailed policies and such, but I think places run a lot more smoothly if you can boil things down to their essence. The new rules are an attempt at trying to get the essence of the Bulbapedia rules, not really in a manual of style sense (although we're working on a new one), but more in a "guidelines to be here" sense, a sort of "code of conduct PLUS" that outlines getting along and how to stay out of trouble.

The priorities are all mine, but as part of Project: Overgrow, we want to revamp every area of the site. I'm trying to basically give my two cents for the direction Bulbapedia should take as everything transitions, although it's by no means what the site will (or even should!) do, it's only my opinion. If you're still curious, feel free to write me back. -- evkl (need to talk?) 07:06, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Well, let me know if there's anything you think we should take on as part of Overgrow, or something in particular you want to help out with. -- evkl (need to talk?) 07:18, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Thanks, I got a bit of a problem though. I must of missed a div somewhere because the side bar and tabs have gone funny. Could you help me out? --Clarky13 12:31, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
Soz for the late reply, you mean with the font-size going small and all? The same happens on the Location Project page too, I'm not sure what causes it yet, I'll take a scan through your coding. Btw, you mightn't want to leave the __NOTOC__ in the preview above, it'll take the toc from this page.     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 13:19, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
Thanks. Its ok, reply anytime you want. --Clarky13 13:22, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
Ok, I think I found it. It's an annoying conflict between html and wikicode that I've come across plenty of times now, it's between the div and the wikicode tables. Regarding your <div class="userbox" style="width: 150pt;"> which doesn't want to close properly (as you've probably found already, putting a closing div tag after them tables doesn't work and the tag comes out as text), thus messing with the sidebar/header options stuff... I'm not sure exactly what causes this to happen, it'd be something within the source coding of the wikicode tables, so I have yet to figure out a foolproof solution to this recurring problem, but what you should do is make sure you close everything in wikicode or html that you start, and don't intersect html across wikicode, keep it nested properly.
After you've ensured everything's closed and not crisscrossing, try closing that div again. If it still doesn't work, and the sidebar's still funny, I'll try fixing the div up.     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 13:56, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
Its useless. Nothing works. Sorry I had to drag you into this.--Clarky13 14:07, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
Hmmmmm, it's very similar to Kogoro's template, I can't help you though, But I think it's the coding.--FF(edits-talk) 14:13, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
That's OK. Oh yea, Don't skip the |}. I'm still getting use to it. --Clarky13 14:17, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Your problem ;D

Looks like I've found it! It's the <big> tag that was actually screwing up your everything. You forgot to close it duffa! xD Try closing it, then closing the div, and see what happens :]     -–<×vVvvv τλικ to ς1tHςι3r ^^vVv×>–- 14:43, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Link Templates

Please use link templates when linking to stuff such as Pokémon names, attacks, and the like. For example, Togepi instead of just Togepi. This is so you don't unintentionally link to a disambiguation page.

For a full crash course on link templates, look at the list of link templates. ----freezingCOLD (page, talk) 21:18, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

Woops, sorry I was just transfering some information from a "going to be deleted" to the merged page. I accidentally forgot the lintempl.--Clarky13 21:22, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

Templates

delete is to be used only for pages that are to be deleted with all due haste. DiscussDelete is more appropriate when the page's notability is questionable, rather than outright zero, and people want to quibble about it. What you wanted was neither. merge should be used when you're trying to get one page to be merged with another. Write name of page to be merged to.

Now, to go yell at whoever put it on there in the first place. --((Marton imos)) 21:43, 17 February 2009 (UTC)

Michael Clark

Laugh now. It has happened again. Brendan McCullum has won the Kiwis the 2nd match too. That's all your fault. It was you who cheered for them. Good thing McCullum is with the KnightRiders for the IPL. But we will win the ODIs and the Tests!--Sher-e-Bengal- 12:40, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Mhahahahaha. Take that India. NZ for the win. lol--Clarky13 12:43, 27 February 2009 (UTC)

Good as ever, as are the Moro bars, sheep, and crooked politicians. *waits for barrage of sheep jokes* :D — THE TROM — 08:59, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
Yum, yum. Don't get me started on stupid sheep jokes. >:(. And pavlova (because that came from NZ) lol --Clarky13 09:16, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

TM

Hey, I noticed your edit in Dragon's Den page. There's a template for TMs, TM. Instead of typing TM24 (Dragonbreath) (as shown in your edit) just type 24 and will result as TM24 (DragonBreath). Thanks~ Ҝəυzø8 04:25, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

Rightio.--Clarky13 04:26, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

Project Games

Hi Clarky13! You are a member of the Project Games and so, I thought I would ask you if you have any reliable source of information about the Spin-off Pokémon games. As you are probably aware, they need the most attention of the project members. Your help in expanding these articles would be deeply appreciated. Thank you.--Sher-e-Bengal- 12:57, 2 March 2009 (UTC)
