This is a basic Guide on the events of Diamond and Pearl (Story mode)...

Chapter 1 (Getting the starter)

  • Twinleaf Town
    • Player watches The Search For The Red Gyarados.
    • Player goes down, Mom tells player to visit rival's house (directly above).
    • Rival bumps into player, goes up.
    • Player follows Rival.
    • Player goes to Route 201.
  • Route 201
  • Lake Verity
    • Meet Rowan and his assistant.
    • When they leave, they leave the briefcase in the bush.
    • Rival brings player to the brief case, both get ambushed by Starly.
    • Choose starter:

    • Defeat the Starly.
    • Player and rival go back to Route 201.
  • Route 201
    • Meet Rowan and his assistant again, assistant tells player and rival to meet them at the Lab in Sandgem.
  • Twinleaf Town
    • Mother tells player to go to Sandgem, gives player running shoes.
  • Route 201
    • Talk to PokéMart's Sales person.
    • Receive potion.
    • Go to Sandgem.
  • Sandgem Town
    • Bump into Rival at the entrance of the Lab
    • Enter the Lab
    • Rowan gives player the Pokémon the player used against the Starly.
    • Rowan also gives player a Pokédex.
    • Go back to Twinleaf.
  • Route 201
    • Go to Twinleaf
  • Twinleaf Town
    • Get Journal from Mom.
    • Get Parcel for Rival.
    • Rival's Mom says Rival is in trainer's School of Jubilife City.

Chapter 2 (Rival battle 1)

  • Route 201
    • Go to Sandgem
  • Sandgem Town
  • Route 202
    • Meet Profesor's assistant.
    • Learn how to catch Pokémon (You don't have a choice).
    • Go to Jubilife City.
  • Jubilife City
    • Go inside Trainer's school
    • Give parcel to Rival, receive Town Map.
    • Battle two trainers on the Blue area, receive TM10 Hidden Power
    • Talk to Man between Trainer's School and Pokémon Center
    • Talk to clown above the Pokémon Center. Answer Question correctly. Received Coupon.
    • Talk to clown at Jubilife TV, Answer Question correctly, receive coupon.
    • Talk to clown near Pokétch Company, Answer Question correctly, receive coupon.
    • Go back to Man, get the Pokétch.
    • Go to Route 203 (Be careful, a rival battle is next.)
  • Route 203
    • RIVAL BATTLE 1
      • Level 9 Turtwig/Piplup/Chimchar
      • Level 7 Starly
    • Go to Oreburgh Gate.

Chapter 3 (Gym Battle 1)

Prize:

Chapter 4(Galactic Battle 1)

Dawn/Lucas will have the type of starter that is weaker than yours. It will be level 13.

Chapter 5 (Galactic Commander Battle 1)

Chapter 6 (Guide Cheryl)

Chapter 7 (Gym battle 2)

  • TM86 Grass Knot
  • Forest BadgeForest Badge
  • Ability to use HM01 Cut Outside of battle.

Chapter 8 (Galactic Commander Battle 2)

  • Eterna City
    • Exit the gym.
    • Use Cut on the gate.
    • Enter the Galactic Eterna Building.
    • Challenge Jupiter to a battle on 4th floor.
    • Go to Bike Shop.
    • Received the BRAND NEW MODEL OF THE BIKE!

Note: You cannot go to Route 205 if you have the bike. You have to proceed from Floaroma if you want to go there again.

Chapter 9(Rival Battle 2!)

  • Route 206
    • Proceed down Cycling Road
  • Route 207
    • Receive VS Seeker and Douwsing Machine from Danw/Lucas.
    • Go right. It will lead to Mt. Coronet
  • Mt. Coronet
    • Meet a man with wacky light blue hair.
    • Exit Mt. Coronet.
  • Route 208
    • Go into Hearthome.
  • Hearthome City
    • Meet a Buneary
    • Contest judge tells player to meet her in the contest hall.
    • Go to Contest Hall.
    • Receive Tuxedo/dress from mother
    • Fantina tells player that player is too weak.
    • Try to get to the south of Hearthome city.
  • RIVAL BATTLE 2
  • Level 21 Grotle/Prinplup/Monferno
  • Level 20 Buizel (Absent if Rival has Prinplup)
  • Level 20 Roselia (Absent if Rival has Grotle)
  • Level 20 Ponyta (Absent if Rival has Monferno)
  • Level 19 Starly

Chapter 10 (Gym Leader Battle 3)

  • Hearthome City
    • Exit Hearthome throught the South east end.
  • Route 209
    • Go into the Lost tower
  • Lost Tower
    • Reach the top.
    • Receive HM04 Strength from the old couple.
    • Exit the Lost Tower
  • Route 209
    • Go to Solaceon Town in the north.
  • Solaceon Town
    • Talk to a guy and receive Pokétch Aplication: Pokémon History.
    • Go into the Daycare to Receive Pokétch Apllication: Daycare Checker.
    • Go to Route 210.
  • Route 210
    • Realise the north end is blocked by Psyduck.
    • Go west to Route 215.
  • Route 215
    • Go to Veilstone City
  • Veilstone City
    • Proceed to the Gym.
    • Prof. Assistant (Your girl/boyfriend...just jokin)tells you some thing embarrassing just happened.
    • Enter the Gym.
  • GYM BATTLE 3 (Maylene)

Prize:

  • TM60 Drain Punch
  • Ability to Use HM02 Fly outside of battle
  • Cobble Badge Cobble Badge

    • Keep going North
    • Use Defog.
    • Go West.
  • Celestic Town
    • Beat the Grunt at the Ruins
    • Enter the Ruins
    • Go to the Back of the Ruins
    • Meet old lady.
    • She gives player the best Hm ever: HM03 Surf.
    • Exit ruins and Fly to Hearthome.
  • Hearthome City
    • Enter the Gym.

Chapter 14 (Rival battle 4!Gym Leader Battle 6)

Optional Quest

    • Go to Iron Island
  • Iron Island
    • Complete this Island.
    • Get Egg (Contains Riolu)
    • Go inside the Gym

Prize:

Chapter 15 (Galactic Battles 3 and 4)

  • Canalave City
    • Exit Canalave Gym
    • Go to Canalave Library.
    • Reach the third floor
    • Talk to Rowan.
    • Talk Talk Talk Talk Talk...
    • Earthquake.
    • Exit Library.
    • Fly to Pastoria/Veilstone andgo to Lake Valor
  • Lake ValorOver here! Quick!
    • Beat the grunts.
    • Challenge Saturn (In the cave)

Chapter 17 (Galactic Boss Battle 1/Galactic Commander battle 5)

Go to Lake Acuity

  • Lake Acuity
    • Meet Jupiter and Rival, who was just defeated.
    • Fly to Veilstone
  • Veilstone City
    • Talk to Grunt at the entrance.
    • Pick up the Storage Key
    • Find the Galactic Key.
    • Face Cyrus on the fifth floor.
    • Receive Master Ball
    • Go to the warp panel on the right
    • Go all the way through to get to Saturn
    • Press the big red button.
    • Exit the building

Chapter 18 (Galactic's Last Battle! Capturing Legendary Pokémon!)

  • Fly to Oreburgh City/Hearthome City
  • Make your way into Mt. Coronet.
  • Instead of going to the bottom left corner like last time, go top left. Keep going.
  • Mt. Coronet
    • Double Battle: Mars and Jupiter!

    • Last battle: Dialga/Palkia (Dialga for Diamond, Palkia for Pearl)

Chapter 19 (Final Battle for the Badge!)

  • Mt. Coronet
    • Go all the way forward after capturing Dialga/Palkia and take the Adamant/Lustrous Orb
  • Sunyshore City
    • I don't give a damn about telling you how to get here.
    • Meet Flint.
    • Go to the Lighthouse.
    • Talk to Volkner
    • Go to Gym
    • Challenge Volkner to battle.
