Krystal, Samantha's Froslass (Japanese: カグヤ、アスカのユキメノコ Kaguya, Asuka's Yukimenoko) is a Froslass owned by Samantha. Her English voice actress is Michelle Knotz and her Japanese voice actress is Ikue Ohtani.
Krystal first appeared in DP144 when Samantha met Ash Ketchum and his friends. Ash asked to have a battle and Samantha used her to fight his Pikachu. With the use of a powerful Shadow Ball attack, Krystal beat Pikachu.
Samantha first met Krystal as a Snorunt before her journey began in the Shoal Cave while on a field trip. The curious Snorunt followed the class around but was only noticed by Samantha. During their lunch break, Samantha offered her an apple to try to make friends with it. She took up the offer and the two quickly became friends. When it was time to leave, Samantha promised to come back and capture her someday.
That day couldn't be soon enough for the Snorunt. She followed Samantha all the way to Littleroot Town by stowing away on a ship, sounds a little familiar. After she obtained her starter Pokémon, Samantha met with her just outside Littleroot where she soon battled and captured her. After the capture, she gave Snorunt the nickname of "Krystal".
Krystal has remained on Samantha's team throughout Hoenn, Johto, and a few other regions. After all the time that went by, she still had not evolved into Glalie. It was if she was waiting for the perfect time to evolve. Samantha participated double battle competition in Saffron City in Kanto along side her friend, Cody. The prize for winning would be a Dawn Stone for each of the winners. Samantha battled using Krystal and Cody used his Kirlia in the final round. The two won the competition and the Dawn Stones. Later on that night, the two had a talk with there Pokémon about evolving. They both said that they would only use the Dawn Stones if they really wanted them to use them. Krystal and Kirlia both agreed and touched the stones. Krystal evolved into Froslass and Kirlia evolved into Gallade.
Krystal played a huge roll in Samantha's victory in the Indigo League with the help of her newly founded Ghost-type moves.
In DP147, Krystal met Ash's Glalie who fell in love with her. She, though shy at first, returned the feeling later on after it saved her from Team Rocket.
Samantha then went on to use Krystal in Sinnoh Conference against Ash and his Glalie. Though the two liked each other, the two respected their trainers wishes to battle one another. In the end, the two fired Ice Beams at each other which caused an explosion which knocked out the both of them.
As of now, Krystal is assumed to still be traviling with Samantha in the Orange Islands.
