Welcome to the Moves and Abilities Portal!
Portals serve as an introduction to different sections of Bulbapedia. This portal is an introduction to the moves and abilities section as well as its project.

Moves and abilities are integral parts of the Pokémon franchise; appearing in all media in some form. Moves are required for all forms of Pokémon battling and also play a role in Pokémon Contests. Abilities, introduced in Generation III, add further tactics to a Pokémon battle.

Each Pokémon can know up to four moves and have one ability at any one time.

There's plenty to see in the Moves and abilities category, and plenty of articles that could be expanded. More ways you can help with Project Moves and Abilities can be found in the "Getting Involved" box to the right.

Getting Involved
There are a number of ways you can work to improve Project Moves and abilities. You can try to add move and ability uses in the anime and manga to their pages. Alternatively, you could upload images of moves and abilities from the games, both past and present generations, anime or manga. If you have questions, you can get in touch with the leader of Project Music, Jioruji Derako.
