The Torn World (Japanese: やぶれたせかい Torn World) is an expected location in Pokémon Platinum. The Torn World will have a major impact on Pokémon Platinum's plot as Giratina inhabits this world. The Torn World is located above Spear Pillar, and utilizes more of the game's 3D capabilities, as floors and walls are traversable in many different angles and seem to spin around in different ways. A screenshot depicts it with floor-like sections floating at ninety-degree angles from each other, creating an effect similar to the art of M. C. Escher. If Giratina is brought into the Torn World it will assume its Origin Forme. But when it leaves the Torn World, Giratina will change back into Another Forme, though it has been hinted that Giratina can be changed back into its Origin Forme another way.

The Torn World is said to be another universe or world parallel to the Pokémon world with the gateway to it only located straight above Mt. Coronet.

It appears to be a dark place with floor-like sections floating at many different angles. The world obeys different laws of physics, allowing the player to walk and surf on walls in any direction. The only Pokémon that has been confirmed to inhabit the Torn World is Giratina.
