Gen III Pokémon
For some reason, the generation III Pokémon that use this have a broken link to their generation II movesets. It seems to be exclusive to gen III Pokémon and to this template; the breeding, level-up and TM/HM ones don't do it. I've looked at the code to try and find out why it links to a non-existant moveset, but I haven't had much luck. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 02:46, 25 June 2008 (UTC)
Column for Pokemon XD?
Only new moves are Nightmare, Sky Attack and SelfDestruct. All the other moves can be learned from Emerald. but those three moves should still be noted if we want to be a complete pokedex. The Placebo Effect 15:48, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- It'll be a hard thing to hack... but I'll do my best. Once I've changed it, I'd appreciate it if you'd help me to fix the 386 broken tables we'll have... If they can learn the XD tutors they'd be a column after FRLGE and before DPPt...
- Speaking of which... if Pt has new MT moves, we'd have to break/fix it again. So about a week after the release of the game, after we know if there's any new MTs, I'd say, we can get to work on adding the XD tutors, all right? TTEchidna 18:25, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- Sounds cool, i guess i can help fix all the templates i'm breaking.
- Or...instead of breaking it, we can make is so some of the variable s are named. (i.e. XD=yes or XD =no ; Pt = yes Pt = no) and just add theose variable to the end of the template. It's a sloppy fix, but it won't break templates. The Placebo Effect 18:47, 9 September 2008 (UTC)
- Eh. Breaking the template, then recoding it so that the games come at the end would save a lot of the hassle and keep it short on the pages. TTEchidna 00:47, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah, i have to agree, that is easier in the long run.
- Don't know if you ever thought of this, but lots of the templates are not user accessible because the coding is not explained. Would you mind if I made it so the template pages had some "instructions" on how to use the templates? The Placebo Effect 01:38, 10 September 2008 (UTC)

By the way, to fix things up
Broken tutor pages will have something like
{{mtentry4|yes|yes|no|Body Slam|Normal|Physical|85|100|15|Tough|3}}
on there... What you want to do is move those yeses and nos to the end. A simple strategy is...
| Broken (beginning) | Fixed (end) |
|---|---|
| yes yes yes | yes yes no yes yes |
| yes yes no | yes yes no no no |
| yes no yes | yes no no yes yes |
| yes no no | yes no no no no |
| no yes yes | no yes no yes yes |
| no yes no | no yes no no no |
| no no yes | no no no yes yes |
| no no no | no no no no no |
Be sure to keep in mind that if the template ends with a number (that's the contest appeal number) you have to put three vertical pipes (|) before putting any yeses or nos, but if it ends with the STAB indicator, you need only put the yeses and nos after one vertical pipe to separate from the STAB indicator.
Questions? See Swampert or bother TTEchidna. TTEchidna 22:30, 12 September 2008 (UTC)
- So basically is it putting no after the first two then doubling the last one...?--Wowy 03:36, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
Im so lost, Im not gonna do anymore for fear of having Caterpie know Meteor Mash :P --Mooites Talk to me, baby! 04:31, 13 September 2008 (UTC)
For Gen III
Basically you're just moving the yeses and nos to the end, then putting a no after it. Otherwise it's the same as Gen IV.
| Broken (beginning) | Fixed (end) |
|---|---|
| yes yes | yes yes no |
| yes no | yes no no |
| no yes | no yes no |
| no no | no no no |
Same as always, questions go to me. TTEchidna 03:45, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
Previous
Should we add in a section where there was the previous moves that can be taught by move tutor (e.g. Magikarp and Bounce)? ht14 21:31, 29 October 2008 (UTC)
