Template talk:Sprite/3/both
From Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia.
Do you think we can change this? Why waste our time re-uploading sprites when we have them all under the name of [[Image:003.png]]? The same thing goes with the shiny sprites. TTEchidna has all of the shiny sprites on his page under the name of [[Image:Spr 4d 003 s.png]]. Also I have uploaded a lot of the female difference sprites under the names of [[Image:003 f.png]] (normal) and [[Image:Spr 4d 003 s f.png]] (shiny). It just seems like a waste of time and space... This is an important discussion so please don't ignore this. --

- Because the Image:_numberhere_.png ones are updated with the next gen sprite. Look at say, Image:001.png's upload history. It was updated for D/P, so once GenV comes out we'll reupload and update to the new ones. That being said, no one has updated Pinsir's sprite yet. Odd. Tina δ♫ 22:08, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
- Yep. If the next gen has gender differences, people'll have to get the sprites and reupload them. Tina δ♫ 22:24, 15 January 2008 (UTC)
- Yeah. ndex.png is reserved for the most recent sprite of said Pokémon. And yes, I realize some of my sprites are of Pokémon that have gender differences. If I remembered which ones they were at the time, I'd've added the _m. But I didn't.
- This stuff's just gonna get harder as the generations go on. Eventually, I think, a template could be ordered so as to ease this. It'd definitely still require that a person know which Pokémon have gender differences... TTEchidna

- That means, of course, that I think the template for calling a specific sprite should come about. Keep ndex.png as the most recent sprite. TTEchidna
