Rhonda's name

I think Rhonda is named after Rhonda Krempa Livinlarge18 21:56, 4 February 2008 (UTC)

But why? She doesn't even voice her. TTEchidnaGSDS! 00:22, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

Well Kay and Roger from EP085 were named after Roger Kay even though Jessica Calvello voiced Kay and Addie Blaustein voiced Roger

Well is Roger Kay a voice actor on Pokémon? --ケンジ ガール 03:53, 5 February 2008 (UTC)
Yeah, he actually was. Who he played is anybody's guess, though. But I highly doubt she was named after Rhonda Krempa. That's like saying Madeline was named after Maddie Blaustein, or that Rachel was named after Rachael Lillis. Besides, how do you know Roger and Kay weren't named after Kayzie Rogers? That's also entirely possible. --PAK Man Talk 06:59, 5 February 2008 (UTC)

What??

Who wrote "No %%^$&&@' idea" in the infobox? This is a website for all ages. Could someone censor this?--Muk-a-matic-Maketh the Muk go round... 04:20, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Last I checked, "freaking" was not a swear word. TTEchidna 04:25, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, boss, but you never know who's watching...--Muk-a-matic-Maketh the Muk go round... 04:27, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Kids hear worse on the playground in third grade. TTEchidna 04:30, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

My point exactly. Some parent might sue over this. Plus, wasn't it vandalism, anyway? - unsigned comment from Muk-a-matic (talkcontribs)

No. --Psyライダー 04:33, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
No, they won't. It's the internet. Plus, it's a "website for anybody who gets on the internet and can find their way here". R.A. Hunter Blade 04:37, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
It wasn't vandalism. That's the default. TTEchidna 04:38, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

"No freakin idea" is the default? Who thought that up? Plus, It's been removed already.--Muk-a-matic-Maketh the Muk go round... 04:45, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Yes it is, that was Echy, and I added her hometown is unknown which made it show up. Now go actually edit something other than the talkspace, kay thanks. --Psyライダー 04:50, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
It's not like it's a big deal... R.A. Hunter Blade 04:53, 14 February 2010 (UTC)
Besides, we've had weirder defaults before...--Shiningpikablu252 05:02, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Change in VAs?

Rhonda Krempa is found in the credits of all the episodes where she has speaking appearances (except DP174), unhindered by her other roles (Kenny, etc.). This implies that Krempa is the voice of Rhonda, not Sarah Natochenny. Natochenny, resume, however, demonstrates that she voiced Rhonda at least once in Season 10. Looking closer I think I understand the confusion. Rhonda's voice is different between her first two appearances. First it was med-low and smooth, then it was med-high and rough. I guess Krempa voiced her from "All Dressed Up with Somewhere to Go!" to "Double-Time Battle Training!" and Natochenny only voiced her in "The Champ Twins" with Krempa voicing incidentals (i.e. the defeated trainers).

That said, Rhonda has a clearly different voice in her bit part in "Last Call, First Round." It's Bella Hudson's voice without a doubt, hardly differentiating it from the voice she gave Kenny, so it's clear she replaced Krempa's recurring roles in summation. Sure enough, Krempa is not in "Last Call, First Round'"s credits.

What do you all think of this? Rosebr10 (talk) 20:42, 29 January 2014 (UTC)

Her voice is definitely different between her first and second appearances, very noticeable. I haven't seen her last episode but considering that she left the series I wouldn't doubt it is a new VA. However, playing it by ear is not allowed here. --HoennMaster 22:49, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
Credits don't usually say who voiced who, so Rhonda Krempa being on the credits does not immediately mean she voice Rhonda. And like HoennMaster just said, we don't play by ear as that can lead to very inaccurate guesses.--ForceFire 02:17, 30 January 2014 (UTC)
True, but simple logic suggests that if there's one questionable role and one questionable actress with all others correctly accounted for, the two are connected by default. That's something I've noticed with your system; it seem like you've only just started to utilize the credits (the episode-specific credits, mind you) as a source and yet you do nothing but ignore everything before the point you started from when it comes to lesser known actors (up until Season 7). Anyone can cite these credits as a reasonable (and primary) source of information and yet it seems they can never justify even a semblance of a connection. HoennMaster is the only user I've seen on here with the clairvoyance to see this kind of argument from both sides. Rosebr10 (talk) 18:38, 31 January 2014 (UTC)
Because we'd rather be 100% right than go "hm, these two characters sound alike" and be 110% wrong. So far, the only way we can confirm a voice is via Kenji Girl who can contact Tom Wayland. Though that's only for the TPCi dub. The 4kids dub is a bit harder to get, what with the whole not dubbing Pokemon thing, and thus we are more stricter on that.--ForceFire 02:25, 3 February 2014 (UTC)
I love you guys, I really do. You note these differences, but you let your faith upon a fleeting community member who you make out to be some messenger from God (a metaphor perfected by a certain role, no less) make all your decisions for you - a user whose conduct and insight can hardly be considered "professional" or "absolute." Am I this, then? No, for that is hypocrisy in its purest form. I simply take note of what I believe to be inherently inaccurate and do what I can to fix it or at least make others aware of them. While you have kept tabs on the most recent eps, there's no denying that your window of opportunity for anything before the point you started has long since passed, and in defense you preserve your original beliefs, believing their value is unparalleled, even in the face of doubt amongst your own members. The resources to help solve your problems are within your grasp; you just lack the initiative to take it upon yourself to valuate these conflicting claims and manage their validity against your own beliefs. Instead, you let others as fallible as you embody the integrity of what you have worked for in full and make all your decisions for you. This doesn't just about Pokemon anymore: this is a matter of character.
Have mistakes been made in the past? Yes, it's an unavoidable consequence, but trial by error is part of the learning process as well as a fundamental aspect of problem solving. You act as if you are personally liable for these errors. You aren't, and any reason you'd make an error isn't necessarily your fault in the first place. That said, they're not gonna hold your hand and always tell you everything you want to know no matter how hard you try. You need to take risks to see what you want done get done, as history has proven time and again.
Strike me down if you must. I've done what I've needed to do here, anyway. Rosebr10 (talk) 23:05, 26 February 2014 (UTC)
I agree with the admins that it's inherently wrong to guess about characters' voices without evidence except sound and present that as if it were fact, and you're being intentionally disruptive to our wiki by trying to do so. I also, however, agree with you that much of our current voice actor information is outright wrong. In my non-staff opinion, if there's a legitimate dispute about an old voice actor we can't identify with 100% certainty by asking our sources from the current dub team, we should just remove the voice actor for that character altogether and admit that our information is incomplete with the MissingInfo template. There should be no grandfather clause for "our fact-checking policies weren't good enough back then." Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 17:33, 28 February 2014 (UTC)
