Ruling on Baby Pokémon?
It says "one of your Stage 1 or Stage 2 Pokémon... does that mean it would allow a Pichu to evolve right to Raichu, too? I remember it saying on Baby Pokémon cards "Baby Pokémon count as a Basic Pokémon"... TTEchidna 01:01, 15 October 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, if reagular cross-generatoinal evos can rare candifize and babies are cross-generational can't they double-evolve? -Groudon465![]()

- Well, that's just following the normal rules; it wouldn't matter if you use Rare Candy on Horsea to make it Kingdra, Charmander to make it Charizard, or Magnemite to make it Magnezone; they're all Basic → Stage 2 evolutions. My question, however, is that, because the text says "Choose 1 of your Basic Pokémon in play. If you have a Stage 1 or Stage 2 card that evolves from that Pokémon in your hand, put that card on the Basic Pokémon. (This counts as evolving that Pokémon.)" does it mean that I can take a baby Pokémon that evolves once more after its baby form (Pichu, Cleffa, Igglybuff, Elekid, Magby, Azurill, Budew, Happiny) and go directly to their Stage 1 form (Raichu, Clefable, Wigglytuff, Electivire, Magmortar, Azumarill, Roserade, Blissey) without the middle form? It says specifically "Stage 1 or Stage 2 card", and I don't see why you would just use it on something like Charmander to make it Charmeleon when you can do that without this card. Team Compendium says:
- Q. Can I use Rare Candy to evolve a Baby Pokémon into its next stage? What about the newer forms of babies that are considered "Basic Pokémon" but have the "Baby Evolution" Poké-POWER?
- A. Rare Candy states if you have a card that "Evolves From" your Pokémon There are currently no cards with text saying "evolves from" its baby form, so Rare Candy will not work on any form of baby Pokémon (Oct 23, 2003 PUI Rules Team)
- Q. Can I use Rare Candy to evolve Pichu into Raichu EX?
- A. No, Rare Candy states if you have a card that "Evolves From" your Pokémon Pikachu does not say that it "Evolves From" Pichu, so Rare Candy will not work in this situation. (Sep 11, 2003 PUI Rules Team)
Sorry, it looks like you won't be Rare Candying that Pichu or Wynaut anytime soon...--Shiningpikablu252 02:42, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
