Form or Forme???

I know that some say that only legendaries are spelled 'Forme', with an 'e', but others argue that non-legendaries also have an 'e' on 'forme'. That's why I listed Rotom and Castform on this page, too. --Theryguy512 16:08, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

Forme is more specific than form. More than just Pokémon can have forms; for example, courage can have forms. However, as of yet, only Pokémon can have Formes. More specifically, Pokémon forms should be called forms unless specifically called Formes. In my opinion at least. The Dark Fiddler - 10% Satisfaction Guaranteed! 16:11, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
Also, Rotom and Castform aren't even referred to as forms, they are ____ Rotom and ____ Castform. They haves forms, but aren't referenced to as such.

Hope I made sense! =D The Dark Fiddler - 10% Satisfaction Guaranteed! 16:12, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

I agree with you, TDF, but others debate that Form can be spelled Forme interchangeably. --Theryguy512 16:13, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
Shouldn't matter. This whole "forme" bull**** isn't going to hold. If they WERE going to use that spelling for Deoxys, Giratina, and Shaymin, they would have used it for Deoxys in Mystery Dungeon 1 and in Diamond/Pearl. They didn't, hence that spelling isn't going to be used in the games. --Shiningpikablu252 16:13, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
People also debate that the south won the Civil War, that doesn't mean that we put it on the article (If we ever make one, that is, which I doubt) The Dark Fiddler - 10% Satisfaction Guaranteed! 16:19, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
Go check out www.pokemonplatinum.com. Check out Pokemon, look up Shaymin, and go to the last page for it. There are pictures showing using the Gracidea on Shaymin to change it's Forme. In the third picture, the ingame caption reads "SHAYMIN changed Forme!" Does that make this any more offical?--Purimpopoie 16:21, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
Yes, but according to [1], form was spelled forme in the Middle Ages, form some Latin word (on the page, it says :[Middle English forme, from Latin frma.]). Therefore, the two words can be spelled interchangeably. (Haha, that Civil War 'South Won' thing reminds me of a vandal that was here a loooonnnngggg time ago that replaced all the pages with a l33t picture of the confederate flag....) --Theryguy512 16:23, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
But what's the logic behind not using the official terms from the games themselves. After all, it's always Pokémon, not pokemon, pokes, or any variant thereof.--Purimpopoie 16:25, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
But is it used that way anymore? Spellings become antiquated. The Dark Fiddler - 10% Satisfaction Guaranteed! 16:26, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
Well it depends on whose spelling it. --Theryguy512 16:27, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
And the official games and other sources are spelling it Forme. Always capitalized, always with the "e" at the end.--Purimpopoie 16:28, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
Unless you are talking about Cherrim or Castform. Those spell it Form, the Legendaries spell it as Forme. MaverickNate 16:36, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
Okay, well since I can't find the slightest piece of concrete evidence to support me, I guess you guys are right. Sorry of the inconvenience. --Theryguy512 16:37, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
