Confirmed Gender

Seriously, even if it's gender was confirmed in the dub, why would it be different in the Japanese version?

The excuse is "Well the dub can screw up". Not a good excuse since everyone knows it's a girl anyway, but bleh. There are just some people you can't convince of Pikachu's masculinity. TTEchidna 02:00, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
Well, we still haven't had firm Word-Of-God on Pikachu either way, have we? Buneary, OTOH, should be fairly undeniable at this point. - Cassius335 13:15, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
Hey, umm guys, Didn't Dawn's bio on the Japanese 10th movie site confirm that her Buneary is a female? I mean, I thought they confirmed that when they were discussing the Poster.
Weedle Mchairybug 02:59, 10 April 2008 (UTC)

don't trust the dub

The dub said Brock's mother died, and she came back in a Chronicles episode. They said that the Team Rocket duo in Legend of Thunder was male and female, while they were both male in the original.

Sure, the evidence does point to Buneary being female, but I'll wait for it to be confirmed in the Japanese version first.

Brock's mother: OK, that one's truly an error. Why does the dub refer to Flint's ***** as Brock's birth mother when Brock's real birth mother is supposed to be dead, and never even go as far as to provide an explaination?
Attila and Hun: And what evidence says the dub changed Hun's gender? People have searched the dub for the telltale sign, and there wasn't one. Nobody ever referred to Hun by specific gender, meaning it can't be proven that 4Kids actually changed Hun's gender. For all we know, Hun's still male in the dub, they just cast oddly.
As far as Buneary goes, while the Japanese version hasn't fully proven what the dub says, there's been nothing in the Japanese version outright disproving what the dub says. Sure, there's been mistakes in the dub before, but given that we haven't seen anything from Japan to contradict the dub, there's no reason to believe the dub is outright wrong. Saying not to trust the dub on anything is like saying not to trust Viz on their Pokémon Special translations and to use Chuang Yi for everything Viz put out. --Shiningpikablu252 17:58, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
4Kids vs PUSA. 4Kids may have gotten kickass voices, but donuts don't make themselves. TTEchidna 18:20, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
Ok, it WAS confirmed in the Japanese version that Buneary was female. the official 10th movie website mentioned her Buneary as being female. Ask Serebiiforums if you don't believe me. Also, to Shiningpikablu252, they DID mention Hun was a guy (Kudo said "Those men" in regards to Atilla and Hun.). Weedle Mchairybug 12:27, 27 July 2008 (UTC)
How stupid is this debate? Buneary is a girl!!!!!!!Pikazilla 02:17, 28 July 2008 (UTC)

Wait...

What happened to Buneary's vest?Nintendofan146B 23:36, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

Kenji-girl says that Buneary doesn't wear it enough. Read her talk page.--Tavisource 23:40, 27 September 2008 (UTC)
Holy unexpected plot twist Bat Man! Buneary appears again, and is wearing the vest! She has appeared in only a few episodes since the Wallace Cup (shortly before which, she received the vest) and wears it in every episode where she has more than a cameo apperance. I think that by now, we should accept that it is a major part of Buneary's character. Until she evolves anyway... Aura-Knight 01:13, 7 February 2009 (UTC)

Jump Kick

When did it used jump kick? --kebs. 14:02, 21 October 2008 (UTC) I think it was bounce - unsigned comment from Pokemonboy3000 (talkcontribs)

Could it perhaps me mentioned?

Buneary is able to learn Attract meaning if she does, she could use it on Pikachu. Could this be mentioned here or rather on the Lagomorphshipping trivia? SD13 Simpsondude13>SD13 Talk 09:44, 15 December 2008 (UTC) SD13 Simpsondude13>SD13 Talk 09:44, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

...everything can learn Attract. Just because Bun-hun can learn it by breeding (like Ice Beam could've been passed down) doesn't mean much special... besides she's the one attracted! TTEchidna 09:50, 15 December 2008 (UTC)

Evolve?

In the "future events preview" that aired after DP171 today, there was also a piece of footage showing a Lopunny attacking Zoey's Mismagius. Could this possibly be Dawn's Buneary evolved? Dilophosaurus Rex 17:45, 1 April 2010 (UTC)

Evidence shows that the Lopunny belongs to Nando. And the preview also showed Dawn's Buneary participating the the GF. So no. --ケンジガール 01:24, 3 April 2010 (UTC)

Trivia

"Dawn's Buneary seems to be a parallel to May's Beautifly:

Both were used in a different kind of Pokémon Contest (Beautifly in the PokéRinger competition and Buneary in the Hearthome Collection).

Honestly, do we need this? It's not a similarity, it's a difference... I could go on all day about difference they have... "Both were caught at different locations!".GlaceonFanGal 17:43, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

Moves

It says that Buneary and Croagunk are the only anime Pokémon currently owned by a main character not to have learned any moves sense their capture. But Gible hasn't either. ----Zewis (29) 17:10, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

What about Draco Meteor? Gible didn't know Draco Meteor before DP156, he learned it after the gang encounters Wilma. So, it doesn't count because it did learned a new move in that episode. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 18:33, 14 July 2010 (UTC)

But since it was captured (not seen, not befriended, officially captured in a Pokeball), it has not learned a new move. Flyingtypefan 03:29, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Images

Not to nag, but I don't see why we have so many of them, especially the one that says "Wearing a vest made by Johanna" (I mean, she's already wearing it in the one in the infobox). I'd go ahead and delete at least two of them, but I figure that I'd get input from others first. So...any thoughts? GamerGeek 22:44, 24 September 2013 (UTC)

Now that they've been removed, doesn't this article look really bare? I'm not saying all we need to do is add some pictures back, we really need to put more content into the History section too. All these tiny paragraphs just look ugly, Best Wishes Pokémon have their major appearances covered in much greater detail then most :/ Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 01:00, 25 September 2013 (UTC)
The thing is, the images that were removed were pointless, especially the one where it says it's wearing the vest, since she already is in the infobox. As for the others, I'll admit they were cute, but they didn't serve any real purpose, they just cluttered up the article.
As for the History section, you could always add to it yourself you know. GamerGeek 01:45, 25 September 2013 (UTC)
