Staravia

So, we "know" staravia will PROBABLY be in this episode, and if what I and many others assume, will evolve into Staraptor to win the contest like Swellow did, why is this listed? Although we ASSUME he will be used, for all we know, Ash will ask Oak to send him Swellow to defend it's title. Shouldn't Staravia be removed into the preview that shows him as being in the episode airs? Myzou 01:54, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

...what? Staravia's listed because it appears, regardless of evolving or not. I'm not sure what "removed into the preview" is supposed to mean... ~ overgrownsol 01:57, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
    • Speaking of removals, I had to remove Jessie, James, and Meowth from the character lists due to the fact that DP117's summary subtly implied at their possibly disbanding and leaving the show. You guys can add it back in AFTER DP117 airs (IF they end up staying on the main cast, of course.) Weedle Mchairybug 03:28, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

They won't leave, that is obvious. --HoennMaster 03:33, 20 February 2009 (UTC)

Even still, we cannot risk having them on there. For all we know, DP117 may very well end up doing the unthinkable and have them leave the show. I mean, when the episode title thread on this episode first popped up, because of a certain line in the Summary, they ended up speculating that JJM WILL leave the main cast/Disband. It's no different than the Turtwig/Grotle incident that we ended up having to protect Grotle's page until DP100 aired. Weedle Mchairybug 03:37, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
You've got to be kidding me... They're not breaking up... They've done this many times before where Team Rocket gets in a fight and then they end up back together by the end of the episode. Such as The Ole' Berate and Switch. I highly doubt that after 12 years they are suddenly going to disappear. That's just stupid... Use common sense please. They stay visible. --ケンジガール 05:42, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
And we can always change it later if it turns out to be true. Of course, it's far more likely that that damn penguin that's long overdue for an evolution will have evolved two episodes earlier and not appear in this episode or the one preceding...--Shiningpikablu252 06:18, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
Biding their time to Movie 12. Galactic's gonna be in this one, trust me. Anyway, I do agree, TR's not breaking up permanently, I'm 100% certain on that. And even then, why would they leave the show in the middle of the region merely months before the most important of the movies? TTEchidna 06:27, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
By that logic, we should have used "common sense" in regards to Turtwig instead of, you know, going into protection mode over it when DP100 was being unveiled. And another thing, it wasn't just their getting into a "Fight", it's also the fact that one of their old comerades (NOT JJM, BC, or even Domino) was shown to have retired from TR and doing an honest living, and the summary in itself hinting at it. We still cannot say that JJM are in this episode. We don't list Wobbuffet as being in the episode despite it being very likely to appear anyways due to certain randomness of it's appearances, so why should this be any different? Weedle Mchairybug 11:59, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
Well, Turtwig's page was unprotected after the episode actually aired. Like the The Ole' Berate and Switch, the Japanese title also hints TR's breakup: Team Rocket Dissolution!? Respective Roads!. So why not "wait 'til the episode airs?" Ҝəυzø8 12:23, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
See in most summaries it says that Ash will use Starvia(although I wish Swellow returns) and seeing that all of Ash's battling Flying Pokémons evolve before the Sixth or seventh Gym, we can be sure we will soon have Starpator. Moreover Starpator has a Type disadvantage over Candice's Ice types. Swellow evolved before Winnoa and Noctowl was caught before Morty. --Prongs 06:20, 3 March 2009 (UTC)PRONGS
Staravia Evolves in the Episode, but I will not put that on the Acutal Artical (Better Safe than Sorry, Right?). (Kmanecke 17:29, 5 March 2009 (UTC))
I think the phrase you are looking for is Wait 'til it airs The Dark Fiddler - 10% Satisfaction Guaranteed! 17:47, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
The only thing that sucks about the protection now, is the rumors have been confirmed in the preview for DP118 that aired after DP117. Staravia takes a hit from Honchcrow (Wing Attack/Steel Wing), falls to the ground, and evolves when getting up. :P Sadly, we still have to wait til it airs I believe, even though it was specifically shown to be evolving, it wasn't simply a Staraptor XD EDIT: (For those who didnt see it, screencaps courtesy of a user at PC: [1] Myzou 07:32, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
Regardless of confirmation in an episode preview. We do not add information regarding evolutions until the actual episode airs. Staravia is still a Staravia in the series, and won't be a Staraptor for a week. When that week is up, then everything regarding the status of that Pokémon will be up to date, but not a moment before the scene airs in the actual episode. Now everyone, enough talk 'bout it, kay? - Kogoro | Talk to me - 08:05, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
  • Well, Staravia's evolution is in the preview, so it is confirmed. (Paul's Honchkrow just loves evolving Ash's Pokemon), but I suppose it might be best to wait, so details can be told. - unsigned comment from Torngentleman2 (talkcontribs)
IT IS NOT shown evolving in the preview!!! --Theryguy512 13:59, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

Trivia

Something I would wanna note... If Satoshi actually won the PokeRinger Contest, this actually marks the first time he ever defeated Shinji... (I didn't watch the episode, just looked at the major points, but to the looks of it, I think Satoshi defeated him AND won.) utube1226 14:42, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

He didn't defeat him in a battle though --HoennMaster 01:36, 13 March 2009 (UTC)

Dub edit

The dub edit says that Ash mentioned that Staraptor was a Starly that Paul rejected. However, after listening to the quote, I believe that Ash meant that Paul didn't care for Ash's Starly because he criticized it as possibly being weak in DP003. Anybody concur? --rockersk08 01:25, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

I think you're right. Ash said, "...the Starly you didn't care for". It could just be refrencing to the fact that Paul thought that Ash's Starly was crap. Vhayes1992 01:33, 10 August 2009 (UTC)

Dragonoid?

I'm not sure if I heard Provo right, but did he say Dragonoid instead of Dragonite? The accent is throwing me off. Yami 11:20, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

I'm sure he said Dragonite. Turtwig A Contributions Talk 11:25, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

Error

After the Contest Ash catches up with Paul and says "Hey Paul! What do you think, Don't you think its great? The Starly you didn't care for evolved into a Staravia then into a powerful Staraptor."

Ash's Starly isn't the same Staly paul had and released as ash indicates. Yami 13:01, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

Paul didn't care for it because his own starly defeated Ash's. Turtwig A Contributions Talk 13:08, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
