Reasons the episode will likely be banned (In my opinion)

  • 1. The gesture for beckoning is completely different in Japanese culture and the girl seems to be shooing people away by American standards (my interpretation of it anyway).
  • 2. The background voice in the end over the girl's is commonly associated with the Devil and demons.
  • 3. The girl appeared to try to take Aoi to hell/an underworld.
  • 4. Unlike in Tower of Terror, the ghosts in this Ep are apparently evil.
  • 5. Conway and Aoi came very close to actual death (although many others have in other episodes, these were closer than most brushes with death.

The only precendent for this is EP020 (Ghost of Maiden's Peak), and that created a degree of controversy at the time. In my opinion, the amount of repainting and editing will cause the dubbing team to skip it over, or severely edit it and release it like Beauty and the Beach. Hopefully I'm wrong. Aura-Knight 23:57, 24 August 2008 (UTC)

4Kids's dub was made with a TV-Y Kids WB audience in mind. PUSA's dub is made with a TV-Y7-FV Cartoon Network audience in mind. I'm certain PUSA could get away with more than 4Kids could.
Additionally, the last episode to be classed as banned never aired in Japan either, meaning that there hasn't been a banned episode since the seizure episode. --Shiningpikablu252 00:08, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
You're forgetting the Ice Cave episode, which was banned because of Jynx. --PAK Man Talk 04:57, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
That episode was never banned, and even if it was, it wouldn't have been due to Jynx (odds are it would have been SARS). Unlike EP035 and EP038, that episode WAS dubbed, it just never showed on Kids WB. --Shiningpikablu252 04:59, 25 August 2008 (UTC)
Actually, I'm pretty sure that EP038 WAS dubbed, since Maddie Blaustein stated that a dubbed copy DOES exist (then again, Rachiel Lillis did say that they wouldn't dare touch that episode... so...), and EP035 most likely was dubbed, since the first season Pokérap featured a clip from that episode (specifically, the part where Misty fishes up a Gyarados.), and I doubt they would add in a screenshot of an episode they never even dubbed in there. Weedle Mchairybug 10:23, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Thought of something else, if this episode is banned, the next makes no sense (the competition) and then the first two seem odd. And its doubtful they would ban an entire arc. We'll just have to wait. Aura-Knight 17:35, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

I doubt this episode would be banned, since we've had Ash being possessed by a malevolent supernatural force. So you guys shouldn't be all "Waaugh Waaugh, the media watchdogs are onto us!". PDL 03:46, 6 November 2008 (UTC)

Eh, we'll see in a couple weeks won't we. Forgot about that one Aura-Knight 01:12, 14 December 2008 (UTC)

That little girl had a demonic and reverberating voice through much of the episode in the dub version i saw recently. Its possible they could bann it, but we won't know for sure for a while.

You know that's the second time something caused a hypnotic state in the Summer Academy episodes. Yami 04:12, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Like what?

I checked the CN schedule for the next episode (This one obviously) when I realized another alternative title, Named "Big Bad Billy Goatetsky" it either me or it's another T.V show. Here's the link --FF(edits-talk) 14:29, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

Meh...NVM.--FF(edits-talk) 14:29, 14 January 2009 (UTC)

to defend my trivia should someone say something

Yes if you look Conway's arms are just as long and disproportionate, but his reason is different.

When your a teen, and you might not notice this, your arms are very long much like many anime characters. They make anime characters with such traits to appear young.

But the girl's arms are very disproportionate especially when it comes to her hands. Yami 04:10, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

It's not that, it's the Mewtwo one, we're not sure about that one.--FF(edits-talk) 04:12, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Watch just after Ash and Aoi takes down Dusknoir, before she opens the portal she smirks and Mew's Cry rings out. Watch (listen) and see (hear)

Mewtwo hears mew 2 min in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2Dr2EnfBMk

DP090 After 6:42 into the clip http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6v8byekn0Xk

Yami 04:20, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

oh i see by the history what you mean. What i mean is Mewtwo hears mew's cries. I should have said Mewtwo heard from mew not of mew lol. Yami 04:22, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Like I said. To suggest something without proof is speculation. Speculation isn't fact. Oh, and proof is a direct admittance...not your "Evidence" that you have above. -Sketch 04:33, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

There is proof, stop trying to be a problem. Where the proof The profs's hair neck and ear are the same color? Yami 04:40, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

What's this direct admittance your talkign about? Yami 04:41, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Q#1 Watch the episode CAREFIULLY AND SLOWLY Q#2 What???--☆Coolピカチュウ! 04:43, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Watch Mew two Strikes back slowly, and the little girl just after Dusknoir goes down and you will hear the proof. Yami 04:45, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Something sounding like something else is pretty much an opinion. For example, I can say Delia sounds like my aunt Meredith (I don't have an aunt Meredith by the way), but my sister could disagree because they sound different to her. There are a lot of things that seem like facts but are actually opinions, and vice versa. eA 04:46, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Its stock audio, they've used it multiple times. The most recent is in Ghoul Days but its mew's cries from Pokémon the first movie. And what about the other two Trivias? whats wrong with those? Yami 04:50, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

What about the

  • She also has some similar traits as the younger Sabrina Ash and his friends encountered in Kanto.

that's opinion. Yami 04:52, 25 January 2009 (UTC) --☆Coolピカチュウ! 05:04, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

After Ash and Aoi disable Dusknoir, the little girl smirks and a cry similar to the ones Mewtwo hears before breaking free of his tube can be heard.

The little girl clearly has disproportionate arms with long hands which is very abnormal for a girl that age.

Its speculation that she's a ghost girl at all, she could just be a pokemon in disguise.

You guys give me a hard time but i don't see you go for the throat of the ones that wrote the trivia.

  • In one scene, Professor Rowan's neck and ear are the same color as his hair. - where is the proof?
  • She also has some similar traits as the younger Sabrina Ash and his friends encountered in Kanto. - Opinion and speculation
  • In one scene, Ash mentioned to Pikachu to just count to ten when a Haunter grabbed Shinx's tail. This could refer to a Japanese myth about a ghost who is unable to count to ten, then suddenly disappears. - where is the proof and speculation

Didn't see you 86 those Yami 05:00, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

About the Professor's hair color = ear color = neck color : [1] eA 05:03, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
As for the myth do some reasearch on Japanese myths sheeesh--☆Coolピカチュウ! 05:04, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

oh so you're allowed to submit video evidence but i'm not? Yami 05:09, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Yes, because I have super special amazing powers. eA 05:12, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

I'm going add just the smirk part back. And i'm going make it detailed on what the sound is, and where else it is used. Yami 05:21, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

You don't have proof for your trivia. No one specifically stated it was a transformed Pokémon. You're speculating about it and using whatever you can find to back it up...that's not proof, that's still speculation. The Rowan thing? That's not trivia, that's an animation error. That sound...that Mewtwo hears while he's in the tube and says "Those voices." That is the same sound...but yeah...not only is that not Mew...but in retrospect...it's not important to mention. It's just stock audio footage...but yeah, that's not Mew. The only time it's important to mention audio being used is if it's music from a movie. Not sound effects. -Sketch 11:55, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

I never said the girl was mew, i said the sound was of a mew. Why didn't you guys ask for proof when the error thing was added? i don't see any citation or anything. It was only speculation that the girl has anything in common with sabrina's incarnation. You guys didn't get rid of that the second it was added, its only until i add somethign that you spout crap about needing proof and that its opinion and speculation.

If you want to be a good admin then stop discriminating. Yami 17:35, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

I was in bed when you said that so I couldn't remove it right away because it is speculation. And if it's an animation error ir doesn't really need cited...it's just there. -Sketch 19:16, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

What was wrong with the hypnosis triva

What was wrong with that trivia?

Up Close and Personable and Ghoul Daze are back to back and both have hypnotic trances placed on people and/or pokemon Yami 05:27, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Dusknoir plead of innocence

where does this go?

I notice when Dusknoir is pleading to Dawn he was innocent, that he says "No, nor, nor, Noir!" while waving his arms in a "Hey i didn't do this, its not what it looks like" anime manner. Is it trivia or are you guys going say its not worth noting? Yami 19:09, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Why would you put that in trivia? That's not even important to mention as trivia. -Sketch 19:15, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
You guys mention that Pikachu got his own way to say ash's name, how is a Pokemon who can say no and defend itself not worth mentioning. Yami 19:18, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
Because Pikachu is a main character. I'm sure there are other situations like this and they're not mentioned. Honestly...there's no need to mention EVERY little thing. -Sketch 19:38, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

I'm not mentioning ever little thing, its just this doesn't happen ever day. Also Dusknoir is a main in this story.

Japanese: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CagHJgDeMwk 1:40 into it English: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h4dQsOx1E6g 8:20 into it.

the Dub is different it goes No!, nor nor noir!, the jap goes n-no-or, nooir noir. (or something around the lines, the BG music blasted my ears)

A No, and a obvious way of saying "this is not what it looks like" is in both versions.

Plus the arm waving in that way is universal in anime when it comes to defending yourself against accusations and/or the anger of a woman (both in this ep) Yami 19:45, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Main character of the SERIES. This isn't an individual special. This is an episode in that series. It's not important enough to mention. -Sketch 19:56, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

What was the attack Dusknoir used on the Ghost Girl?

What was that attack called that Dusknoir used on the ghost girl to destroy her and the cave? It was never mentioned. Was it maybe a Focus Blast? If an unknown move, should it be noted in the trivia?--Brats817 20:23, 25 May 2009 (UTC)

Is anyone going to answer?--Brats817 22:06, 26 May 2009 (UTC)

H-hello? I wanna know if this is worth mentioning in the trivia. That Dusknoir's attack on ghost girl could've been Focus Blast. Sure resembled one even though the attack wasn't stated. --Brats817 07:30, 17 November 2009 (UTC)

Earlier episodes links

I was wondering if there could be some template for earlier episodes, which would add name of episode in tooltip, so that would look in result look like this :

An earlier episode has a similar dub title.

If it gets css style to look bit more like link, I bet, it would make it possibly easier to know, which episode was meant even without clicking on link --TakeruDavis[1] 18:27, 23 May 2010 (UTC)
