Talk:Ash's Totodile

Are you sure Tony Anselmo plays the voice of Totodile? Other than imdb.com and Wikipedia, nothing I've found (including Pokemon's credits) says that he's a voice actor with the show. -PAK Man

Well, that's what Wikipedia's article on Totodile says.--Pokencyclopedia 17:44, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
The only problem with Wikipedia is that anybody can contribute to it. This is also the web site that says Carlos Alazraqui was a voice actor on Pokémon, when his website never says he was. --PAK Man
It also doesn't make sense. I mean, everything else he's done has been for Disney - why would he voice Totodile for 4Kids? Besides, he's not the only person who can do a voice like Donald Duck - even if it's a difficult voice to imitate. --Pie 01:40, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

Totodile's voice

Totodile sounds like Clarence Nash Donald Duck's original voice - unsigned comment from Livinlarge18 (talkcontribs)

Well I can assure you that he does not voice him. Some one also thought that he voiced it too. But you have to realize that practically anyone can make their voice sound like Donald Duck's. Realize that Donald has probably had three different VA's by now and they all do his voice the same. Totodile just was made to have a "Donald Duck-like" voice. --ケンジガール 22:22, 12 September 2007 (UTC)
Gah, I'm so sick of people saying Donald Duck plays Totodile. People, there is NO possible way that Totodile is voiced by Clarence Nash, Tony Anselmo, or any other Disney voice actor. Disney, if I recall correctly, records all of their voices in California. Pokémon is dubbed in New York. And Maddie Blaustein stated on the Serebii forums that, although she doesn't know who played Totodile, she assured everyone that it wasn't Donald Duck. Also, point out to me where Nash or Anselmo has been credited in Pokémon. The only places I see that are Wikipedia, IMDB and TV.com (which is one of the most inaccurate sites out there when it comes to voice actors. I told the editor that some of his voice actor information was wrong, and he told me it wasn't), all sites which people can contribute freely to. Also, for the record, Carlos Alazraqui did not play the Magikarp salesman, Jhonin Vasquez did not play Professor Nanba, and neither Matt Mitler or Jason Marsden has played Gary Oak. And Philip Bartlett wasn't the narrator, either. :sigh: It's as simple as just reading the credits.
By the way, sorry if this post seemed a little angry. I'm just so mad at people who hear one rumor about a voice actor and then post it everywhere else claiming it's true. --PAK Man Talk 00:05, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
Also Nash couldn't of voiced Totodile because he died 22 years ago. --ケンジガール 02:42, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
Another good point. --PAK Man Talk 03:35, 13 September 2007 (UTC)

Bill Rogers

Do you think Bill Rogers will voice Totodile? - unsigned comment from Livinlarge18 (talkcontribs)

Incorrect credits

Voice Actors .com said that Rachael Lillis voiced Charmander it is not true someone should fix that and make it Michael Haighney and Bella Hudson did not voice Officer Jenny Jamie Davyous Owens did and also it said that Lisa Ortiz voiced Chikorita and its evolutions Mika Kanai did not Ortiz and I think Birnbaum does voice Bellsprout because if you listen really closely it sort of sounds like Jessie's Dustox - unsigned comment from Livinlarge18 (talkcontribs)

Well, that's they're problem, not ours. --PAK Man Talk 03:45, 18 September 2007 (UTC)

Gender

Is Totodile a confirmed male? DCM

As far as we know, yes. Love, Totodile Style had Totodile fall head over heels for a confirmed-female Azumarill who eventually shunned him for a Golduck. There was also the minor matter of a likely-female Quagsire at the end of the episode. This means that, unless it's a lesbian (which is highly unlikely, as the only confirmed non-straight in the anime is Harley), it's male. --Shiningpikablu252 15:19, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
When was it confirmed that Harley is gay? Pokeman21 15:34, 9 July 2008 (UTC)
You are forgetting that we have strict regualtions for Ash's Pikachu even though Dawn's Buneary was consider female. It should be the same with all of his Pokémon. --ケンジガール 10:27, 10 November 2008 (UTC)

Kayzie Rogers

Can anyone prove Rogers does the voice of Totodile he sounds nothing like any of her other voices Livinlarge18 14:15, 29 July 2008 (UTC)

Well, that user claiming to be Kayzie added a whole slew of roles that only Kayzie would have known. Plus, at the same time she was updating Bulbapedia, she updated Wikipedia with the same information, stating that she was indeed Kayzie. She also corrected some credits here, and confirmed that it was Jerry Lobozzo that played Dr. Quackenpoker. --PAK Man Talk 14:58, 29 July 2008 (UTC)
Seriously? And Porygon-Z said "That was a gang-raped bitch-slapped piece of crap" on one of her edits that he undid. Hopefully she didn't see that. XD That could possibly look bad for us. --ケンジガール 03:58, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
Considering she hasn't been here since April, I think she only came to correct her credits and leave. She said on her Wikipedia User Page that she's sick of all the rumors about her characters, so she decided to set the records straight. I've noticed Maddie Blaustein, Stuart Zagnit and Mike Pollock have also updated their Wikipedia credits as well (or at least people claiming to be them). --PAK Man Talk 04:25, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
Well, I know Maddie does (or did) go on BMGf from time to time... TTEchidna 04:30, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
Also, I think he meant her edit, which was a monster with NO LINK TEMPLATES *cries* TTEchidna 04:33, 30 July 2008 (UTC)
Sorry but unless Kayzie can send me a demo of her voicing Totodile I deny her credit Livinlarge18 00:25, 30 December 2008 (UTC)

Skull Bash?

When did it use Skull Bash? Telme 00:35, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

I can't think of the exact episode, but I'm fairly certain it did use Skull Bash at some point. It may have been during the Whirl Cup or the Johto League. I can't check right now, though, as I don't have my DVDs with me. --PAK Man Talk 06:43, 4 February 2009 (UTC)
It was in the Whirl Cup, but I don't remember the exact episode. Missingno. Master wants YOU! Join the Order of the Glitch! (my talk page) 19:44, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

Isn't this article too short?

I think it is, but I don't know what to add. There are some articles, like the Gym leader's Pokémon, which a quiet larger/longer. In my opininon we have to proof some episodes whether they inform us about Totodile or give ous information we can add. --×Impoleon xy× 10:17, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

I don't know. Totodile really didn't do anything of importance besides causing Ash and Misty to fight over it and falling in love with a few other Pokémon. Perhaps the race in Pokémon Heroes could be mentioned. --ケンジガール 10:23, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

Hey guys i agree, so i added a bit to the article adding in a little more about his use as a comic release character, ex the dancing and also with his scary face move. i know there can be more so ill try hard to think of a little more to write. totodile is my favorite and i think ash's deserves more in it article. i hope what i added works :) - unsigned comment from Src1200speed (talkcontribs)

Slash

It used Slash, once, according to the Slash article.--Muk-a-matic-Maketh the Muk go round... 18:32, 5 February 2010 (UTC)

Actually caught by Ash

shouldn't it be mentioned that it is unknown if Totodile was actually caught by Ash, considering him and Misty threw their pokeballs at him and didnt see who caught him. Djulienr 23:58, 9 June 2011 (UTC)

Either way, Ash was given ownership by the battle held in that episode. Toon Ganondorf (t c) 07:07, 6 November 2011 (UTC)

Known or unknown gender

Was Totodile's gender stated in the original and/or dub?* If not, how is Totodile a male other than the whole falling in love with female Pokémon thing? PattyMan 05:44, 3 May 2013 (UTC)

I am asking this because when I watched the episodes that Totodile appeared in, I don't remember anyone making any references to Totodile's gender. PattyMan 23:53, 3 May 2013 (UTC)

In an episode where Totodile saw a Quagsire Ash said "Well it looks like Totodile found himself a new girlfriend" which confirms Totodile's gender in the English dub. User:Ratchet and Clank 1995 18:21 GMT 30/11/2013

That's not enough evidence by Bulbapedia standards; first of all, girlfriend is not indicative, since it assumes heterosexuality. (And before you say it, "it's a kids show, so they wouldn't put gay characters in it" is an assumption — an almost certainly accurate assumption, but an assumption nonetheless, so we can't go by it.) Secondly, the original series is extremely loose with "hims" and "hers" when the original Japanese version uses a gender-neutral pronoun, so casual usage like that isn't enough. It has to be something definitive — how it's affected by the move Attract, for instance. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 19:45, 30 November 2013 (UTC)

He a boy it's very easy to tell. The azumerial was female and toadile was getting help by Brock about romance so he a boy. Male it's very easy to tell. The way they act so male the gender male. --Terryberry94 (talk) 05:06, 28 July 2014 (UTC)
