Hmm

Denny you might as well remove the top part...the images prove that Meguroco isn't the same one from BW003...no sunglasses and it's a wimp Ataro 18:16, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

I'm going to keep it because of that ending where that Meguroco smiled. It could have aquaphobia or acrophobia due to being Ground type (if they are on bridge where Koaruhie appear in games).----無限の知性DENNOUZENSHI 18:28, 25 October 2010 (UTC)

Sunglasses Meguroco

I think it's a tad soon to be removing it entirely. It's not 100% confirmed that that egg hatches into Meguroco, although I admit it's entirely possible. But for all we know, the egg could hatch into Zuruggu and go to Iris, a'la Togepi, then Ash'll catch the sunglasses Meguroco. Or the egg hatches into something different that Ash Oaks for Meguroco. Or something. All I'm saying it, it's a bit too soon to be doing anything more than acknoweledging the possibility that the egg is Meguroco. - unsigned comment from Missingno. So, Waruvile (anime) or Sunglasses Waruvile?--Burgundy 21:32, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
I'd go with Sunglasses Waruvile, I could write about the battle but I'm not sure what went on before that, I think the sunglassess were explained but I don't understand Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 21:39, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, I'd go with Sunglasses Waruvile too. I mean, it was Sunglasses Sandile before, so changing it to Waruvile (anime) would be a bit odd. So, my vote is on Sunglasses Waruvile. -I Liek Gengarz! Do Joo Liek Dem? 21:45, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
Please excuse me if I am wrong, but isn't the convention to name it Waruvile (anime)? I mean, Squirtle wore sunglasses too, once upon a time. Also, just because Ash didn't end up catching it in BW020 doesn't mean that he (or someone else) won't catch it in the future, so moving it to Waruvile (anime) makes more sense to me. Isn't it also easier to link to with a template this way (I might be wrong about that, so forgive me if I don't know what I am talking about)? I personally like Sunglasses Waruvile better than Waruvile (anime), but I am just sayin...--ジェダイの騎士デジタルテレビ 21:49, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
But didn't Ash call it Sunglasses Meguroco in the BW020 preview? Blazios 21:57, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
I watched BW020 and updated the page, as for noatabilaty, it has followed them for 17 episodes, appeared in 3 and had 2 of those focus on it, additionaly, it evolved, and I don't think anyone expects this to be its last appearance Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 23:08, 24 February 2011 (UTC)

A little help?

Can someone that understands Japanese watch the episode and answer a question for me that I am curious about? I am wondering if Ash was specifically trying to capture Sandile during the battle before it evolved into Waruvile (before Pikachu sent it blasting off), or if Sandile/Waruvile just wanted to have a battle with Pikachu for some other reason (i.e. to see who was stronger, rivalry, etc.)? We never saw Ash bring out a Poké Ball to try to capture it, but that doesn't mean that wasn't his intent with the battle. Please and thank you. --ジェダイの騎士デジタルテレビ 00:07, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

Sandile wanted to fight Pikachu, I'm not sure wheather Ash wanted to catch it Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 00:10, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

Not necessarily. We do not know for a fact that they are Black Glasses. And this is a subject for the forums. --ジェダイの騎士デジタルテレビ 04:16, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
Black Glasses?

Nope. In the anime game items are always identical to their game images and Krokkodile's glasses aren't even black.----無限の知性DENNOUZENSHI 08:40, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

A little question

The recent popularity poll done by pokesho site (though I have been drawn up by the Japanese official site of best Wishes) Sandile who considered the favorite of viewers of the series deserves to be no mention in the topic?--Hikaru Wazana 22:10, 24 February 2011 (UTC)

But that could be for Sandile in general, not specifically this one. J-J-M 22:36, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

Trubbish & Krokorok?

  • So, someone put Trubbish & Krokorok instead of Yabukuron & Waruvile. Was that confirmed from an official source? I know it was from the leaked list, but Bulbapedia wont accept names until they come from an official source. Torpoleon 16:44, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
They're from a British game magazine. I think that some staff members are currently thinking whether the names are official enough. However, we shouldn't change them back unless admins say so.----無限の知性DENNOUZENSHI 16:49, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
The magazine is somewhat dubious as a source, since their screenshots are obviously from a ROM, and thus we have to wonder if they even have the game in English. Of course, we understand that these names are almost certainly legit, but we can't consider this magazine any more of an official source than some anonymous poster on GameFAQs if they don't actually have the game. Sandile KO'ed from Electric Type

Isn't Sandile is supposed to be not effective by Electro Ball it's a Electric type move and Sandile is a Ground Type --Funicode 02:24, 20 July 2011 (UTC)

Firstly, anime =/= games. Secondly, he wasn't really "knocked out". Knocked out emphasizes that the Pokémon was hurt and fainted, identified by the swirly eyes. It seems to me it was merely force of Electro Ball that sent it flying, but that doesn't mean it was actually injured by the attack. Especially considering electric attacks were shown to be ineffective earlier in the same episode... Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 02:32, 20 July 2011 (UTC)
Uh, no. Ground-types aren't affected by Electric moves in the anime too. Also, Electro Ball sent the Stone Edge back at it, which is why it was sent flying. Ataro 02:40, 20 July 2011 (UTC)
Typically Ground-types aren't affected, Ataro. But there have been a few exceptions...Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 02:47, 20 July 2011 (UTC)
Eh, that was over a decade ago (well, next year it will be). More recent episodes (such as Ash's Palpitoad vs Burgundy's Stoutland) are using it. Ataro 02:59, 20 July 2011 (UTC)

Ash's Pokémon Template

For the record, I watched the episode and there is no reason that the wild Cottonee should be on there and Sandile not. They were both treated in the exact same way. Its unfortunate that the templates are misleading as such but I don't think thats avoidable, unless you want to really crack down on the "temporary" section. Evo tag?

Why is the evo tag being used in the suspected capture label? It is a suspected capture, not a suspected evolution. サトシ 22:14, 29 January 2012 (UTC)

Becuase it's actually called the EpiProtect template. We just use the evolution art because that's the most frequently used reason for protecting articles. It may be a little misleading, but it's the actual text that matters. --Pokemaster97 22:17, 29 January 2012 (UTC)

In that case, we should probably say "Male (confirmed in Japanese original)" or something to that effect, since the English dub is notorious for retconning such easily-overlooked details (remember Lenora's Herdier and the duo from the Legend of Thunder?). GamerGeek 18:23, 25 November 2012 (UTC)
No. The Japanese version overrides everything else in terms of canon. He's male. Ataro (talk) 00:02, 26 November 2012 (UTC)
I know it's confirmed in the original Japanese version; what I'm saying is that no proof exists in the dub (at least, not the English one; I don't know about any other dubs), so it's entirely possible that may not be the case (like it was noted in Hun's article). GamerGeek 23:16, 26 November 2012 (UTC)
Like Ataro said above, Japanese comes first. If a case like that were to come up, we'd note it. You say there's no proof that no proof exists to say that Krookodile is male in the dub. Well there's nothing that says Krookodile isn't male in the dub either, so we're going with what the Japanese version confirmed already. Because it's the logical thing to do. --Pokemaster97 00:20, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
Hmmm...that is indeed true; I just thought it would be "safer" because the dub can (and will) change such details. GamerGeek 02:16, 27 November 2012 (UTC)

Also note that since pseudo-legendary is a term based on stats, it is meaningless in the anime. --SnorlaxMonster 18:31, 25 November 2012 (UTC)
Stats (sorta) do exist in the anime though, like when Don George comments on how Bulk Up raises both Attack and Defense (which he did in both the Club Battle and Clubsplosion several times). GamerGeek 23:20, 26 November 2012 (UTC)
Anyway, what about the first trivia, regarding his evolution? I think it's something worth pointing out (at least more so than the pseudo-legendary trivia). GamerGeek 02:20, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
Well, are we adding it or not? GamerGeek 00:19, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
I'm not fond of it since it's typical for the main characters to battle and train each other, especially since Team Rocket's appearance rate has dropped dramatically in this series. What about Primeape, Poliwhirl, and Marshtomp? They too evolved after battling against the main characters' Pokémon. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 01:54, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
Hmmm...now that you put it like that, I guess the first trivia point is pretty irrelevant...maybe the second one is worth mentioning then? GamerGeek 07:19, 4 December 2012 (UTC)
I'm not really sure about that one either. I mean, imagine if we said it was the first of Ash's Pokémon to beat a Grass-type or something? But at the same time, it's true that he hasn't been able to beat a Pseudo-legendary before with just one Pokémon. (That I know of anyway. Dragonite and Tyson's Metagross took three Pokémon to beat. ) I don't think he ever actually had a proper battle with J's Salamence, or knocked it out. I'm on the fence. Looking over its page and the episodes it appeared in, Salamence was never knocked out, and Ash didn't have a proper battle against it (the closest they came to was when Salamence started a forest fire in the Aura Sphere Riolu arc). As far as other psuedo-legendaries go, Cynthia's Garchomp never lost a battle either (which was even noted on her page before, but was removed for some reason), and Hydreigon hasn't yet made its anime debut. Yes it has. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 04:57, 7 December 2012 (UTC)
It was only a cameo in the intro of the episode, and it didn't actually lose (as in, knocked out); it fled the battle. GamerGeek 03:10, 10 December 2012 (UTC)
