Ash's?? Really? うずまきハルカ 17:36, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

One word: AWESOME! --Theryguy512 19:27, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

Nice one Paul! You gave Ash another starter! --Vladek

I was actually suprised with this one---i've seen covers with Brock having the Chimchar. oh well...Ash ftw!! =) --Thomas1652

I'm disappointed. Now Ash can't bring Cyndaquil back... TTEchidna 20:54, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

f

Agreed. I guess there's still a chance for Totodile, but still. Zurqoxn 21:27, 7 October 2007 (UTC)
Well, Totodile offers some solace. Kinda sucks, though, that Cyndaquil, the one who got, like, zero development, compared to Totodile and Bayleef, gets screwed. TTEchidna 21:46, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

Ya! Paul releases (I seriously knew he was going to) Chimchar! and Ash catches it. Much like James' Cacnea --悪臭の人 19:59, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

This...is...

'AWESOME!!!!' -KPF

I too, wish it was Cyndaquil that came back. Ah well, if we're lucky, Ash might Oak Chimchar and call for Cyndaquil. Sadly, this is unlikely, as the transfer of a Generation II Pokémon during the Diamond and Pearl series could be mistranslated as you can migrate Pokémon from GSC to DP...sad... Movie 10 Chimchar?

I saw some pics of Movie 10 and there is a Chimchar blowing fire into a hot ari balloon. Is this Ash's Chimchar doing it? --Theryguy512 20:49, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

No. I think it was one of the movie character's Chimchar.JmathTalk 20:50, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
Had to have been. Paul didn't appear in that movie, and that's whom this Chimchar was with at the time. --Shiningpikablu252 21:07, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
But Jmath puts up a good point. It may have been the balloon owner's Chimchar. --Theryguy512 22:11, 13 November 2007 (UTC)

Hmmmm

All of Ash's monkey-based Pokémon have had two trainers. Ash's Primeape and Anthony.. Dawn and Ash for Aipom... Paul and Ash for Chimchar.. I dunno. Thought I'd add this to the talk page before editing. Tinaδ 17:36, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

That's definitely Trivia-worthy if you ask me. --PAK Man Talk 19:40, 28 November 2007 (UTC)
Hmmm, I'm going to add it to Ash's page.. it makes more sense.. Tinaδ 19:46, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Just wondering has Ash done Anything with Chimchar yeat? Cerberus

I really don't think he's going to evolve

I really don't believe Chimmy is going to evolve in this next episode. I saw the preview on youtube, and it just looks like Paul drives him completely berserk. I could see the poor thing break down. Plus with the Aipom --> Ambipom thing, he glowed white and stuff showing that it the evolving was probably going to happen. This is probably just more character development for Chimmy. Toastypk 03:34, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

No possibility can be eliminated. --Shiningpikablu252 04:00, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
I dont think Chimchar will evolve either. In the preview for Movie Eleven Isnt Chimchar there? But if it isnt, maybe it will evolve. David

aipom Davidaipom 17:51, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

We know from the group shot that Gligar will evolve before the movie while Chimchar won't. So why is Chimchar the one to be protected? --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 18:00, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
Given that the Gliscor is on the far right end of what we see in the group shot, and given the Gliscor's distance from Ash, it's not a foregone conclusion that it's Ash's. For all we know, Paul could be in the movie and that's his Gliscor. Or given how Shaymin has a role in the movie, that the movie might be Marley's anime appearance and that's her Gliscor. Or it could belong to a character of the day not covered in the group shot.
Additionally, that group shot could be from an early version of the movie and that there is no Gliscor and Swinub, and that Chimchar and Piplup will be evolved by the time the movie rolls around. Given that some shots do make it to full color before hitting the cutting room floor...--Shiningpikablu252 20:37, 24 May 2008 (UTC)
I am 99% sure that that is the "World of Pokémon" group shot, which isn't your standard disposable shot. There is not much reason to give it to us to begin with and they would definately make sure the team lineup would be finalised before doing so, especially given what we do get.
And there still isn't any evidence that Chimchar will evolve here anyway. From the preview, we can all see that it is character development concerning Paul. This certainly isn't an Aipom scenario. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 20:52, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

Chimchar is by far one of the most and hardest trained Pokemon Ash has in Sinnoh (besides from Pikachu), it may also want to show its ex-trainer, Paul, that it isn't a weakling because it has a kind a enjoyable nature.Kikibabygirl28 19:25, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

well it seems he wont evolve because someone else released monferno from the ball. also it seems ash gets raichu, and the grimer dawn has acts like ash's muk. - unsigned comment from Happizelpom (talkcontribs)

Those could just be rental Pokémon... Remember EP056? Why would they suddenly give Ash and Raichu and Dawn a Grimer? They wouldn't. They're probably rentals. --ケンジガール 02:12, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

[1]

See that link? It leads to a topic on the Serebii Forums that seems to insinuate that Chimchar will evolve. I'd suggest protecting the article to prevent any jumping of the gun, so to speak. I'm Missingno. Master, and I approve this message. 11:28, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

That Monferno is next to a Raichu which is next to a screenshot of Ash and Pikachu looking at the Raichu. Until we get anything indicating otherwise, the Monferno belongs to the school. (Grovyle got an episode before Treecko evolved too.) Please can we not go through the above protection again. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 12:52, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
The Monferno is battling against Raichu. Unfortunately, as soon as Bulbanews reports this, I'm afraid that Chimchar is going to have to be blocked. If everyone is going to train a Pokémon that belongs to the school though...it's hard to tell. Best to play it safe. But this is going to be a pain. : ( Aura-Knight 16:40, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
Seems the rumor's already out, therefore, protection is best. TTEchidna 21:26, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
It's obviously not going to evolve. What's most likely going to happen is that Chimchar and Pikachu are going to have a double battle against their evolved forms. --ケンジガール 01:59, 16 July 2008 (UTC)
Where are these screens? They're gone from the serebii links. ~Toastypk - Loom. 07:00, 22 July 2008 (UTC)

I just saw the preview for the next ep and it looks like they are getting rental Pokémon. Also if anyone was to get Monferno it looks like it is in the ownership of that boy Conway as he is seen releasing it. Big Johnno 16:36, 25 July 2008 (UTC)

Minor favor

SP252, there's a type link near the two trainer links you just did that could be replaced with {{type}}. Would you mind getting that? I can get it once the protection's lifted otherwise. --Martonimos((Argh|Blargh)) 01:27, 16 July 2008 (UTC)

DP088

Well, while I'm waiting for someone to upload either pictures or the video from 087, I noticed that Monferno will debut next Thurs. After that, if Chimchar hasn't evolved, can we lift the protection (or is this trailer for next week like Aipom or Gligar's evolution)? - unsigned comment from Aura-Knight (talkcontribs)

dude go and watch it on youtube - unsigned comment from Big Johnno (talkcontribs)

Chimchar doesn't evolve. From what I here, Monferno is being used by Conway. However it will remain protected from gun jumpers. --ケンジガール 18:28, 25 July 2008 (UTC)
Will Chimchar remain protected throughout the summer school arc or do you think it's safe after next week? (I made the previous comment early in the morning, and no one had put it on Youtube yet Johnno) Aura-Knight 00:21, 26 July 2008 (UTC)
The evolution rumors surround DP091, not DP088. Odds are the protection will last until then--for all we know, Conway could have a Monferno and Ash's Chimchar'll evolve anyway...--Shiningpikablu252 00:31, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

Is it okay if we unprotect this?

I saw the preview for the next episode. Monferno was being used by a girl. Chimchar is definately not evolving. --ケンジガール 06:37, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

We should wait cause there are people who just say random things and just edit it--CoolPikachu! 06:39, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

Trivia

Those last two pieces of trivia are definatly not needed. Chimchar didn't debut in Rise of Darkrai, it debued in the first episode of Diamond and Pearl. The 'if chimchar evolves it will be Ash's third fighting type' is the worst piece of trivia ever. Its speculation and its not even important. It's not mentioned that chimchar is his fourth fire type, or that corphish was his fith etc. If we have this then we'd also need 'if turtwig evolved it would be Ashs third ground type'. We don't have that, so this is uneeded. Could an admin please delete these pieces of trivia? TheAlmightyChris 16:12, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

A possible idea for an image

I found this image on Serebii.
DP305.jpg
I like it, and here's why I think it should be uploaded and included: Notice the flame on its tail. Doesn't it look bigger than usual? Could that possibly be a smaller version of Blaze? If so, I think it should be uploaded to the Archives and included in the article somewhere. Discuss. Chocolate 00:12, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

Pics generally include both the trainer and the Pokémon, though that doesn't hold for all the Pokémon. In this image, Chimchar is about to use Flamethrower I think, and so it's not Blaze. What's wrong with the current image anyway? Aura-Knight 00:18, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
Nothing's wrong with the current image. I just really like the one I suggested. Chocolate 00:22, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
Specifically, I like Chocolate's image, just wish it was of better quality~Ποκεμανιακα0β 00:24, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
I might be able to get a better quality version if I knew what episode it's from. Chocolate 00:26, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
What image are you attempting to replace exactly? I like the ones we have now. -Sketch 02:39, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
I don't want to replace any of them. I just want it to be put somewhere in the article. Chocolate 02:40, 4 November 2008 (UTC)
There are already four images. That's plenty. -Sketch 15:06, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

Protection

Should Chimchar be protected again until DP108? It may not seem too likely, but its possible it could evolve to beat Byron. - ElectricArbok 6:31, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

I feel that's speculation. There's no proof it's a possibility it will evolve. -Sketch 20:24, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
Given how many times Chimchar evolving has been hinted at yet not panning out, odds are it may end up evolving without warning (and by warning, I mean without any hints). Yes, DP108 probably would be a good time for that to happen...--Shiningpikablu252 21:48, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
No one should be editing the article with speculation and if no one is we shouldn't protect because there is no reason anyone would jump on DP108. Gym battles always look problematic for Ash at first, summaries always pick up on that and Ash always finds a strategy that doesn't rely on a lucky evolution. I'm sure we'll see Monferno in action at the Ice Gym. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 22:28, 10 December 2008 (UTC)
Hopefully --ElectricArbok 16:01, 10 December 2008 (UTC)

There's no reason to protect it. Chimchar may evolve, but there's no proof for sure. Aura-Knight 17:16, 22 February 2009 (UTC)

Movie Protection?

I don't know if we should protect it this early, I mean we didn't do it for Gligar did we? Or did we? I don't remember. July is a long time from now, five months, I suppose if/when Chimchar evolves admins could un protect it. And there's really no reason why it shouldn't be protected, so I don't know. Only if its necessary, in my opinion. When it becomes a problem. Or if there's actual Aipom/Turtwig proof.--Dman dustin 07:26, 28 February 2009 (UTC)

There's already a disclaimer asking people not to edit it. But it's likely Chimchar will evolve within the month. Aura-Knight 04:26, 1 March 2009 (UTC)

The pages should be protected until we've got confirmation... like its always done... just to be safe.--X, PEACE TOTHE DRAGONS ANDTHE BEASTS 00:09, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
Actually, it's better to have the page open for normal editing until the gun-jumping starts. If it doesn't then there was no need for it to have been protected, and if someone does gun-jump, then we had a concrete reason other than 'it might happen' The Dark Fiddler - Is teh Pedia laggin 4 u 2? 00:16, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
Well... now that's a good reason, there's nobody editing anything much... plus, there's not much other info. Still, the admins should be ready... later from now, the pages would have to be protected if anything occurs... whether that bad massediting or more released info. But, you bring up a good point that those kinds of things I mentioned are not happening at the moment...--X, PEACE TOTHE DRAGONS ANDTHE BEASTS 00:28, 6 March 2009 (UTC)
Ash's Monferno is protected from creation so don't worry so much. Once there are gun-jumping edits then we kill them. TTEchidna 01:32, 6 March 2009 (UTC)

"It will be unprotected when an upcoming episode airs on the date of the episode." As awesome and funny that sentence is and I wish we'd do that more, I'm having a hard time swallowing that particular phrasing as grammatically correct. Wouldn't it just be easier to set the protection level to expire on July 18, when that's the day the movie will come out? If not could a admin reword that so it sounds a little better like "It will be unprotected on the date of the upcoming episode" or is that too obvious and one sided that Chimchar will evolve? --Dman dustin 13:49, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

If you look at the code, you'll notice that it's a template; it's not normally designed for this sort of situation, so the wording is hard to make any better without changing the template. (which I may end up doing to avoid this sort of thing.) But until then, it's sort of tough to be grammatically correct and still convey the message with this template. -- Jïörüjï Ðērākō.>.cнаt^ 19:27, 10 March 2009 (UTC)

Ok, we know that Ash caught Chimchar in Hearthome City, but...

Do we know where Paul caught Chimchar? I mean, seeing how it had two owners, I think it's fair to mention where Paul caught it. I mean, we know it was somewhere near some Zangoose, seeing how that's the memory that reveals why he was training it so hard, as well as why he kept it instead of just trying to release it like the others, but we need to know the name of that location. Weedle Mchairybug 01:56, 14 March 2009 (UTC)

Trivia Mistake!

There is a big mistake in the trivia section that Chimchar is the first of Ash's pokemon to activate it's ability. But i think Sceptile is the first of Ash's pokemon to activate it's ability "Over Grow". Am i right? --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 14:26, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

Also, Pikachu and Static. The Dark Fiddler - You enter a poorly lit room... 14:27, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
It says "THE ability. Meaning his first Pokémon to use Blaze. -Sketch 14:28, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
However, it specifies Blaze in the trivia. I don't think it's notable though. The Dark Fiddler - You enter a poorly lit room... 14:28, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

But i think Ash's Charizard was the first to use it.When charizard was stucked in ice in Charizard Chills and ash did every thing to save it from dying. Then after recovering from ice, when ash saw him at the early morning,he was surprised to see that Charizard's fire was increased at an extreme level exactly like Chimchar's fire. So i think it was Charizard's ability. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 14:36, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

Unless I am mistaken, abilities didn't exist back then. The Dark Fiddler - You enter a poorly lit room... 14:38, 15 March 2009 (UTC)
Or until, you know, three years after that episode was over with; almost four years, then, after it was planned out originally. Gen II wasn't even out yet and you're bringing up Gen III stuff? TTEchidna 21:20, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
Personally, I think the Charizard thing is correct. Abilities didn't exist, but Pokémon had them. It's as though when Gen II came out, scientists DISCOVERED that abilities existed. It's like the trivia question "Which mountain was the highest before the discovery of Mount Everest? Answer: Mount Everest. Even though it isn't discovered yet, it can still exist. It's also like the fact that Pokemon get new evolved forms in later generations which have always existed but are only recently "discovered". There we go. Dusknoir477 21:40, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
True, and besides which, Double Battles didn't even exist until Generation III, and that never stopped the Anime writers from including them in Rocket Battles, and in the Luana episode. Weedle Mchairybug 21:58, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
So shouldn't Piloswine in Gen 3 evolve after learning AncientPower? J-J-M 21:44, 16 March 2009 (UTC)
Also, in EP007 Staryu shows an ability similar to Natural Cure, despite it not being introduced. That would be the first time an ability is shown. --MiekL94 02:32, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

Evolution

Based on 120, it seems like Chimchar isn't going to evolve until at least Ash's battle with Candice, and people are already arguing about the Notch Eared Pichu clip (that aired with the episode) that shows a Chimchar. Not to mention a Shiny Pichu Aura-Knight 21:52, 27 March 2009 (UTC)

Yeha..the Pichu clip...but that's not an official clip from the movie...so it can't count.--Tavisource 22:03, 27 March 2009 (UTC)
DP126's title is most likely an April Fools joke, because DP120 clearly states that Chimchar is still a Chimchar when Ash fights Candice. And unless Ash battles Candice during the contest episode or the ping-pong episode, Chimchar evolving into Monferno is impossible. Dilophosaurus Rex 18:42, 2 April 2009 (UTC)

That DP 126 info was totally fake as it was created specially for the April Fool. Then this no any reason to put the protection bar on this article. It is totally misguiding the people. DP 126 is too far and there is no any proof about it too. So it will be better to remove the protection bar from it. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 12:52, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

Keep in mind it was there simply because of the Movie 12, and it had a vague message on it, however someone had to change it because they believed the April 1st information which should have been under suspicion until actual proof of the episode was revealed via Japanese TV guide or Pokeani or some reliable source. Someone just has to revert it back to the original vague protection bar it was before April. Even if it was a big April Fools joke, when it was revealed to be a joke it should have been reverted.--Dman dustin 13:10, 7 April 2009 (UTC)

That protection bar is just ridiculous. I hope that the protection bar will be removed soon. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 15:48, 23 April 2009 (UTC)

Considering it's pretty much guaranteed Chimchar will evolve during the battle with Paul (Due to Time Restraints before Movie 12, and evolving against Paul would make the most sense), the protection bar is probably going to disappear mid June, at the earliest. Myzou 21:19, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

What's wrong with the users? They are continuously changing the Monferno's main picture. That picture was looking awesome in which Ash was standing behind Monferno. Everyday i see a new picture, what's going on here. Just ask from the administrator (I will prefer KENJI Girl or any other) and then decide it. Article picture is not a joke that you guys are continuously changing it. The previous one was better as it shows the trainer with its pokémon. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 05:22, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Maybe we should have a vote. I really don't care either way. It'll probably change again once another episode with Monferno comes out. Truthfully, this episode had very little good pictures of Monferno. And Filb.de didn't get any of them. I plan to get a good picture when the raw is released. And personally, I hate the HD screens because they have a bunch of unneeded background when all we really need is the character. --ケンジガール 05:32, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
Which is why I usually crop when I wanna get something, unless it's got a closeup, in which case I totally try to use it. TTEchidna 06:09, 21 June 2009 (UTC)
The current picture is better. They don't have to have the trainer in the pic (according to Sketch), and Ash is shoved into the background and is not prominent anyway. --HoennMaster 06:25, 21 June 2009 (UTC)

Fury Swipes????

Recently, i watched pokemon season 10 (Complete). I have a question in my mind that when chimchar / monferno used fury swipes. I watched each and every single episode of pokemon dp season 10 and chimchar never used it in any episode. Along with that i didn't noticed chimchar ever using fury swipes in any episode either. I know chimchar used Scratch a lot of times and it looks quite similar to Fury Swipes but i don't think that chimchar knows Fury Swipes at least chimchar never used it in season 10. I will watch season 11 again and confirm this thing. What do you say about it? --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 18:06, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Then how do we have an image of Chimchar using it: a:File:Chimchar Fury Swipes.jpg MaverickNate 18:10, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

I don't think so. Is it really fury swipes or Scratch? --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 18:13, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

Here is the big news byte, this picture is showing chimchar using scratch not fury swipes and this picture is taken from Pokemon DP 003 "When Pokemon Worlds Collide". I have complete season in my pc and i checked it out. Believe me. This picture is wrongly named and i am 100% sure. If you don't believe it then watch DP003 yourself and you will get the answer. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 18:30, 6 August 2009 (UTC)

So what do you say about it. I think Fury Swipes should be removed from the "moves used" section. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 05:39, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

Well that is a picture of Scratch so go ahead and remove it. --ケンジガール 05:49, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

Oh, thanks. All done. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 05:53, 7 August 2009 (UTC)

Charmander

Isn't the way Ash obtains Chimchar similar to the way he got Charmander? Like, an abused pokemon going to a better home sort of thing? Should we add this to the trivia? CherryParanoia 19:01, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

It's already there Turtwig A Contributions Talk 19:02, 20 August 2009 (UTC)

English Voice Actor

Monferno debuted in the dub with the Australian airing of Movie 12. It's voiced by Bill Rogers. Thingamajig257 23:17, 7 November 2009 (UTC)

Infernape

The new stickers have an Infernape on them. So, protect the page or what? Also for that matter, there's also a Torterra and Rivals have never appeared in the movies. Aura-Knight 02:06, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

i was sort of eye-ing this myself. a simple sticker doesnt mean anything, but to some kids out there, it does. im not going to full-protect it though. not now anyway. -- MAGNEDETH 02:18, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Infernape has also appeared in The Greatest - Everyday! alongside Ash's Pokémon (with Monferno nowhere to be seen) so this page definitly needs to be protected. Watchermark 11:14, 7 January 2010 (UTC)

Already is... --ケンジガール 11:20, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
Ah right, sorry. Just I'd looked for the 'This Pokémon has been rumored to evolve...' bumper but didn't actually check to see if the page was protected yet. Watchermark 11:34, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
Until then, I propose that this bumper be used. - Chosen of Mana- 16:04, 7 January 2010 (UTC)
{{EpiProtect|evolve}}

Well now it is set to evolve in DP163, so to save you guys some calculations, it'll have spent 31 episodes as Monferno MAMOSWINEPwnz! (Torngentleman2) 18:05, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

wow... great spoilers. Why don't you just tell everybody who visits the page that it is going to evolve and when exactly it does! I don't really care, but some people might. Just saying. --GEN1KING 22:00, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
I will suggest you to choose your words wisely before putting them here or it will be counted as a misbehave. If you don't want spoilers than don't visit this page. Thank you.--♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 02:24, 9 February 2010 (UTC)
Okay, sorry, I could have put that better, and I guess this IS an encyclopedia, and it is a fact that it evolves, I just got sort of pissed off. For future reference, what does a misbehave do? is it like a 36 hour block or something (better to learn now than find out the hard way) ? --GEN1KING 06:17, 14 February 2010 (UTC)

Flame Wheel

Why isn't Flame Wheel in bold? It's used it recently and has shown no signs of forgetting it. MAMOSWINEPwnz! (Torngentleman2) 19:43, 25 January 2010 (UTC)

Can you please tell me that when Monferno used flame wheel recently? --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 13:48, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
DP163. It also used it fairly recently before, I'm pretty sure. MAMOSWINEPwnz! (Torngentleman2) 19:45, 8 February 2010 (UTC)
Let me make this clear, DP163 is not aired yet. So, it won't be counted. Please, try to prevent FUTURE SPECULATIONS stuff. Thank you.--♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 08:44, 9 February 2010 (UTC)

Kotone

Could an admin change Kotone to Lyra? Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 12:53, 6 February 2010 (UTC)

It is already changed to Lyra, but admins can you please un-protect that article now. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 12:57, 6 February 2010 (UTC)
No it isn't. Kotone hasn't been changed at all. Kazunari has been changed. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 12:58, 6 February 2010 (UTC)
Check it out yourself buddy. Kotone's article has been moved to Lyra already and they also changed the name from kotone to lyra. --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 13:01, 6 February 2010 (UTC)
Not that. In this article. That's why I put it here. Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 13:03, 6 February 2010 (UTC)

Few Important Fixes !!! Admins, attention please :D

Hey admins, as you guys know that this article has been protected so can you please fix these things.

Firstly, change " As a Chimchar and Monferno, its Japanese voice actress is 林原めぐみ Megumi Hayashibara, and its English voice actor is Bill Rogers " because infernape's voice actor has been confirmed now.
Secondly, I doubt about this line " After being struck by a Hydro Cannon and sent crashing into the forest nearby, Monferno entered once again into an uncontrollable rampage with Blaze, but managed to control it in the last second in order to save Ash's Pikachu, Dawn's Piplup, Paul's Electabuzz and Barry's Empoleon from Team Rocket, evolving into an Infernape in the process " ??? Team Rocket was already blasted off before its evolution, Monferno evolved to help the gang from that big falling trash. So, don't you think that we should change this line a bit? --♫♪Adyniz♪♫ 13:07, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
Is anybody home????? The article is still not updated. - unsigned comment from Adyniz (talkcontribs)
It will be unlocked in two days anyway. --HoennMaster 01:45, 17 February 2010 (UTC)
Oh, okay. I will be waiting for that day :P --♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 01:46, 17 February 2010 (UTC)

Why Still Blocked?

Why is this article still blocked? It's evolved now, so why the need? I don't need to edit it, I just want to know. MAMOSWINEPwnz! (Torngentleman2) 22:04, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

Infernape Flamethrower Pics

I've tried inserting the following picture of Infernape using Flamethrower into the move template but for some reason it won't show after saving. Can someone put it in for me please?

Thanks. Watchermark 11:50, 27 February 2010 (UTC)

Really? I saw this pic yesterday on MOVES USED section and it was working (looking damn awesome, good job). --♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 11:55, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
It's time based, so it doesn't always show. But it's there, so don't worry. Jello 12:01, 27 February 2010 (UTC)

Trivia

Noticed it said that Infernape was Ash's 2nd ever fighting pokemon but I count 3 >_> Infernape Primape Heracross - unsigned comment from Arpan2708 (talkcontribs)

Trivia

The instance "Monferno's evolution into Infernape was first revealed in the Japanese opening The Greatest - Everyday!. " Appears twice, one of them should be erased, as it's redundant Luord 04:24, 17 April 2010 (UTC)Luord

Sorry, I didn't see the first one when I un-did your edit. Sorry. --HoennMaster 17:07, 17 April 2010 (UTC)

Minor trivia

should it be put that the only pokemon on ash's current team that was obtained in sinnoh that do not have their gender confirmed are also the only ones who have no gender differences? (torterra and infernape)

Staraptor has the large circle (although you guys were unsure till later) Buizel has the two spots on his back and Gible has the notch in his fin and pikachu has the tail but he doesnt count Aipom also had gender differnces too along with gliscor (well when it was a gligar that is)

(Ataro 09:14, 16 May 2010 (UTC))

Trivia mistakes

"Infernape is the only fire-type starter Pokémon Ash owns that used it's Blaze ability and it is the only starter Pokémon overall to use this ability more than once. " This is wrong, grovyle/sceptile used overgrow in the battle against Norman and again in that last contest against Blaziken

"Infernape also used it's ability more than any other Pokémon Ash owned, using it three times; in Chim-Charred!, DP163 and DP179. Buizel is the only other Pokémon to use it's ability more than once; in A Triple Fighting Chance! and in Short and To the Punch!. "

This is totally wrong. It's ignoring Grovyle/Sceptile again. And, of course, pikachu, who has used static at least 3 times, that I remember. Against Norman, in the 6v6 against Paul and again against Volkner (if I'm not wrong, what happened to electivire was indeed static). Luord 01:37, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

Great spotting. You could have simply reverted those edits yourself and stated that in the edit summary. But no worries, I'm already on it. --rockersk08 03:39, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

Another mistake

Don't know why nobody has realized this, cuz it has been there for a long while. Unless I am really mistaken, chimchar wasn't the fourth pokemon Ash got in Sinnoh, it was the third. Starly->Turtwig->Chimchar. Aipom was captured in Kanto, so the very first trivia instance (comparing it with torkoal and charizard) is wrong Luord 02:22, 5 June 2010 (UTC)

Don't know

"It is Ash's second starter Pokémon to use its ability in a gym battle, the first being Ash's Sceptile. " This is not really true, as Pikachu was Ash's true starter and was a starter in an actual main game. So Pikachu could count in this tooLuord 03:54, 3 July 2010 (UTC)

No, Pikachu isn't a starter. Here, by starter we mean those region starters (fire/grass/water). ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 04:50, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
With that line of thinking then we could say (and put) that Ash's first starter pokémon was bulbasaur. Tell me if that is not misleading about Ash's starter, but do as you wish, a long time ago I figured out how the ¿logic? of the people here works Luord 17:58, 3 July 2010 (UTC)

Could it be...

In DP055 when Ash decided to train, and he called out Aipom and Infernape ( then a Chimchar) I could've sworn he said, " Girls first!!" ...... I don't know if this was a dub mistake or in the original, but all I know is that me and my friends refer to it as a male, but you never know.......- unsigned comment from Cyndaquil155 (talkcontribs)

I don't think ash said "Girls first!", he said You're up first. ♫♪AdyNiz♪♫ 01:55, 2 August 2010 (UTC)

Thanks.... I was confused on that..... Cyndaquil155 16:31, 7 August 2010 (UTC)

New Improvised Move

Just wondering if the dig/flare blitz combo from DP187 should be added to the moves improvised?RBK 21:08, 12 August 2010 (UTC)

Important . . . . ?

I was just wondering, is it worth noting Infernape's repeated usage throughout Sinnoh in its personality or trivia sections? I noticed that, in four out of the five Gym battles it was in (Fantina, Byron, Candice, and Volkner), it defeated two Pokemon out of three/four. Also, it defeated half of Paul's team during the full battle between Ash and Paul in the Sinnoh League. To me, this is a strong list of accomplishments, and it may even rival that of Ash's Charizard (I know, opinions are iffy in discussion pages). If for no other reason, it would expand Infernape's personality section a bit (which could also use some bolstering with the issues with Paul/fear of Zangoose/Blaze control details). If it's not important, I'll step off, but I just thought I'd ask first. RogueTrainer (talk) 21:47, 12 December 2012 (UTC)

Okay, I'll take that as a no. RogueTrainer (talk) 21:30, 21 January 2013 (UTC)
Well, I suppose if I weren't allowed to do it, someone would've said so by now. RogueTrainer (talk) 17:17, 14 March 2013 (UTC)
I definitely don't think it needs to be added, but that's just my opinion. --It's Funktastic~!話してください 17:21, 14 March 2013 (UTC)
Well, I honestly tried to contribute something important, but this is what happens when I do: it vanishes. So much for 'autoconfirm' . . . RogueTrainer (talk) 18:28, 14 March 2013 (UTC)
Sorry that no one answered your question before, but comparison trivia is not allowed on Bulbapedia. It nothing personal so you shouldn't feel that way. Also, if you click on the history tab or look at the Recent Changes, you can see who's changing the edits. --Pokemaster97 20:43, 14 March 2013 (UTC)
Had I known that, I wouldn't have bothered. But that rule doesn't apply to the Gym battle bit, so can that stay? RogueTrainer (talk) 00:52, 15 March 2013 (UTC)
