Tail Whip (Japanese: しっぽをふる Tail Wag) is a non-damaging Normal-type move introduced in Generation I.

Effect
Generation I
Tail Whip decreases the target's Defense stat by one stage. Tail Whip will do nothing if the target's Defense stat has reached a stage of minus six or a value of one, and will fail if the target has a Substitute or is under the effect of Mist.

Pokémon
Psyduck. Psyduck wags its tail back and forth at the foe. Misty often refers to this as "Tail Wag". This rarely has any effect, but in the episode The Evolution Solution, it used this move to throw Shellder off when Shellder bit its tail.
