Release information

This card was reprinted in the Base Set 2 reprint set, which was only released outside of Japan. In Japan, it was reprinted in the Pokémon VS expansion and in the unofficial English Tyranitar Half Deck for the 2001 Tropical Mega Battle with new artwork by the same artist, which eventually appeared in Expedition Base Set. It was reprinted in EX Ruby & Sapphire with new artwork by Hiromichi Sugiyama and subsequently reprinted in EX FireRed & LeafGreen, EX Delta Species, EX Dragon Frontiers and many Japanese half decks. It was reprinted with new art again in Diamond & Pearl, Secret Wonders and Stormfront, this time by Ryo Ueda.

Switch was later reclassified in Japan as an Item card during the HeartGold & SoulSilver Series, though the English prints did not adopt this naming convention until the release of Black & White. HeartGold & SoulSilver featured new artwork by Hideaki Hakozaki. This card was released again in the Black & White expansion with new artwork by Ayaka Yoshida, originating in the Japanese Beginning Set, which was later reprinted in the Battle Strength Decks, Battle Theme Deck: Victini, the Reshiram EX and Zekrom EX Battle Strength Decks, and the Battle Gift Set: Thundurus vs Tornadus.
