It evolves into Masquerain starting at level 22.

Surskit has a round, blue body that has four long and skinny legs extending from it. It has a yellow "cap" with a single antenna. Surskit’s eyes are dark and circular, and have small semicircular pink markings under them.
Gender differences
None.
Special abilities
Surskit have been found with the ability Swift Swim, which increases its speed in rain. From the tips of its feet, Surskit secretes an oil that enables it to walk on water as if it were skating. As it is part Water-type, Surskit and its evolution are capable of using Ice-type attacks, being the only regular Bug-types to do so.
Behavior
If Surskit senses danger, it secretes a thick, sugary syrup from the tip of its head. There are some Pokémon that love eating this syrup. Surskit also uses a sweet scent to draw prey.

Major appearances
Surskit first appeared in Maxxed Out. It was owned by a boy named Max, the doppelgänger of May's little brother, who intends for it to be his starter Pokémon. This made May's brother jealous as he did not know what his starter Pokémon would be at that time.
May faced against a Surskit in the Izabe Island Contest during A Cacturne for the Worse. Harley tricked May into thinking that Surskit was an extremely slow Pokémon and nearly lost due to this lie.
Minor appearances
In Destiny Deoxys, a Surskit was owned by Kathryn. The Pond Skater Pokémon's only major role was helping to rotate the fan blades of the windmills in LaRousse City.
A Coordinator named Brianna used a Surskit in the appeals round of the Pokémon Contest in Spontaneous Combusken.
A Surskit appeared in Up Close and Personable!.
Multiple Surskit appeared in Zoroark: Master of Illusions, living in Crown City.

Trivia
- No other Pokémon has the same type combination as Surskit.
- Surskit is also the only Pokémon that loses its Water-type upon evolution.
- Surskit has the same two types that are most effective when using a Net Ball.
- Even though Surkit's two types are the required types to get a bonus catch rate from the Net Ball, it doesn't get a further bonus for having both.
- As Surskit's types are Bug and Water, it is often questioned how Misty would react to encountering one, as she is afraid of Bug-types yet loves Water-types.
- Surskit is the only Pokémon with a unique type combination that loses this distinction upon evolution, especially noticeable considering Masquerain's very common typing.
- Surskit and its evolution are the only Pokémon to be in both the Bug and Water 1 egg groups.
- Surskit is one of three Water-type Pokémon not to learn Surf; the others are Wingull and Magikarp.
- Surskit can't learn any Bug-type moves by level up, despite having Bug as its primary type.
- Surskit, a water strider-like Pokémon, evolves into Masquerain, a moth-like Pokémon, despite the fact that the two real animals aren't even in the same order of insects.
- Surskit is the only Pokémon with a base stat total of 269.
Origin
This Pokémon is based on the water strider.
Name origin
Surskit's name comes from a combination of surface, or surf, and skitter.
Ametama is probably a combination of 雨 ame, rain, and 玉 tama, sphere, although the latter could also be 魂 tama, spirit. The Japanese name could also include アメンボ amenbo, pond skater.
