Stephanie's father is a one-time character who appeared in the episode Having a Wailord of a Time. He is the father of the starting Trainer Stephanie.
In the episode, he went with his daughter to the Pokémon Center because she wanted choose her starter Pokémon. After his daughter chose Mudkip, the Treecko attracted his attention and awe. Because of this, he asked Nurse Joy if he could have the Treecko for his own starter. Nurse Joy allowed him to be its Trainer, saying it's never too late to start.

| Stephanie's father's Treecko was looked after by Ash and Max. She seemed to take a liking to Ash's Treecko in that she held something in her mouth, in her case a flower. She was upset that she wasn't chosen and in the end she was taken home by Stephanie's father.
