Trivia

Origin

It appears to be based on a reindeer, since both, the males and females have antlers. The shiny form has a red nose, in reference to Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.

Name origin

Stantler's name may be combination of stag and antler. Its Japanese name probably comes from 鹿威し shishiodoshi, which is a Japanese device traditionally used to scare deer and birds away from gardens. Its German name, Damhirplex, comes from Damhirsch and perplex. Its French name, Cerfrousse, comes from cerf and frousse.
