Trivia
- It is part of the Ground egg group, which has caused the Hot Skitty on Wailord Action joke.
- The cream-colored section of Skitty's face is shaped like a crescent moon, which may be related to the fact that Skitty evolves using a Moon Stone.
- It is the only Pokémon that evolves when exposed to a Moon Stone that is not a Generation I Pokémon.
- In the anime its cry sounds like "nyéh". This could be seen as a parallel to "nya", the Japanese equivelent of "meow".
Origin
Skitty is based on a kitten with its tail resembling foxtail grass.
Name origin
Skitty's name is a combination of skittish and kitty. Its Japanese name refers to 狗尾草 enokorogusa, foxtail grass, a type of plant that Skitty's tail resembles, and 猫 neko, cat.
