VineShipping is the belief that Ash's Bulbasaur and May's Bulbasaur are a couple. They met after Ash brought his Bulbasaur over from Professor Oak's so that could meet May's newly caught one. Many episodes later, May's Bulbasaur was left at Professor Oaks with Ash's.
This ship is often used as a evidence of AdvanceShipping, the belief that their trainers, Ash and May, are a couple; It has been stated by Professor Oak (among others) that the feelings of a trainer are reflected by their Pokémon. As such, if two fall in love the trainers will too. There does not seem to be any direct evidence of this, however.
However, recently it has been discovered that May's Bulbasaur has evolved into a Venusaur. What this could mean for the shipping is unknown, as Ash's Bulbasaur presumably remains in Pallet Town and unevolved.
