SapphirePearlShipping (Japanese: ヒカハル HikaHaru , ハルヒカ HaruHika also seen) is the belief of a romantic relationship between May and Dawn.

This ship's main reason for being popular is that people think that they would be cute together, since they are the female protagonists of the Advanced Generation and Diamond & Pearl sagas of the anime, based off of the female player characters of Hoenn and Sinnoh.

The two are both Pokémon Coordinators, and both started out with a birdlike Pokémon (Piplup and Torchic).

In DP076, when the two girls finally meet, May has brought Dawn a special gift. It is a necklace with Piplup on it, indicating that May has taken care to select a perfect gift. They hit it off right away, and Dawn is very enthusiastic to learn about May's adventures in Johto. Dawn is also fascinated with May's Pokémon, whom she finds are cute, pretty, and strong. The two girls team up twice for two tag battles during the course of the episode. Also, in the Japanese language version of the episode, Hikari seems to idolize Haruka, shown by her willingness to refer to Haruka with the suffix -san, which indicates great respect.
