MachisakiShipping (Japanese: マチマサ MachiMasa) is the name for the ship involving Lt. Surge and Bill. The name, coined on 23 February 2004 by Senator Kiwi, is a play on their Japanese names -- Lt. Surge is Machisu and Bill is Masaki.

No evidence exists for this pairing unless you want to count stuff that isn't evidence. Their sole interaction happens in volumes 6 and 7 of Pokémon Special, when they are paired together to battle Bruno; in actuality, Surge's intended partner was Red, who hadn't yet arrived, and Bill apparently had no intended partner. Therefore, the two of them were teamed up. Bill wasn't very thrilled with this fact, and had to be carried over Surge's shoulder at first. This is one point some fans use as "evidence", though most of them realize it actually isn't.

Another point is that despite Bill's initial apprehension, he and Surge actually do make a good duo in the battle.
