FortuneShipping is the belief that Dawn and Lucas from Pokémon Diamond and Pearl are a couple. This shipping technically refers to the Dawn and Lucas from the Pokémon games as Lucas has not appeared in the Pokémon anime while Dawn has. While there is not much hints of this shipping, it does have its supporters.

Dawn or Lucas (depending on your gender) will encounter the player various times during gameplay, but unlike the rival she or he will not battle the player. In most cases Dawn or Lucas helps the player in the player's completion of the Pokédex quest and will sometimes give you free items to help the player. There are also some points where the player are forced to enter a double battle (mostly against two Team Galactic Grunts), but instead of the player using two of the player's own Pokémon, Dawn or Lucas will join the battle with the player.

No matter what gender the player choose in the games, Dawn and Lucas will have similar personalities. They're enthusiastic and seems to always wish the player good luck.

Hints

Before battling Mars of Team Galactic for the second time, she will rudely comment on how the player and Dawn/Lucas are some sort of couple. Her exact words in the American games are "So, what of it? Are you some lovey-dovey couple to the rescue?".
In the Pokemon Special manga, Diamond, the spin-off of Lucas, is known for having a crush on Berlitz, the spin-off of Dawn. However, Berlitz is unaware of his affection.

Similarities

Both are on a quest to complete the Pokédex and to find legendary Pokémon to help Professor Rowan's researches. That and both are involved with the events of Team Galactic.
Like the rival, Dawn or Lucas will also have a starter Pokémon.
