In Japan, this card is part of Series 3 from the Vending Machine card collection. The English version of the card was available as a Promotional card through the Pokémon League in April 2002. Unlike the Japanese version the English release was not a Holo-foil.

Trivia

The "Benching or evolving" clause in parenthesis isn't in italics when it should be.
