Trivia
- Rampardos has the highest Attack stat of all non-legendary Pokémon. It has the second highest Attack of all Pokémon, surpassed only by the Attack Forme of Deoxys.
- It is the only pure Rock-type Pokémon able to learn Surf.
- Although Rampardos attacks primarily with its head, it could not learn Iron Head until Pokémon Platinum, and cannot learn Skull Bash.
Origin
Rampardos is based off on the group of dinosaurs including Pachycephalosaurus although the head ornamentation resembles that of Stygimoloch or the Dracorex because of its height.
Name origin
Rampard's name is a pun, combining the words "ram" (to slam into), "hard", and "rampart" (a type of fortress). Rampardos comes from the same etymology as the Japanese name, however, it adds on "dos", a common ending for dinosaur names.
